Haha! That doesn't mean that she will necessarily listen to me any time when we're NOT doing agility--she just happens to love doing this! :) As long as it's convenient to what she likes to do, she's on target!
Wow, I don't have an exact time frame for you...when we started learning, it was in class once a week, and I'd say she was really getting the idea within a month or so? It didn't take her long, she's pretty sharp!
Lead is actually really, really important--Jean emphasizes it in her teaching. It helps the dog on a tight turn--let's say you want them to head left. Getting them on the correct lead is to your advantage, and makes them more likely to get the direction you want. The point of a front cross should be to encourage the dog to execute a flying lead change, as that's the result it usually gets. :)
I have a video game like this, but seeing a really awesome dog is way better!!!!
