@DamnationDude12 it;s the same way you get to play anywhere else. You make a few phone calls, take what you can get, rent a van, and grind it out, do what needs to be done. You just need to desire and perseverance and the will to go thru that and keep going thru it for as long as it takes. That, and the fact they make original, genuine, honest music is what has given the Mars Volta their success.

thats because they started out as at the drive in....which was really big here in usa at that time so when they flipped over to mars volta they still had the tour cred to land them there

My god! To think cedric use to sing like this compared to 2005-2007 where he hit the notes live pretty damn near perfect ( for a live performance of course ). This was fresh right out of ATDI so I can see why. Even present time cedric sings 1000000x better than this haha.

Well, there probably weren't lyrics to the songs at this point. And he's rather obviously fucked up on something (probably some sort of opiates). If you eliminate those things it helps a lot.
