  • I'm so grateful that it was Ezra Levant who had to suffer this thought-crime trial farce; he is the only one who could have stated his objections so precisely and eloquently, exposing just how Orwellian Canada and the States have become.

Thank you for fighting for all of us, Ezra!

  • Ezra's the man, too bad he had to go through this embarrassment of a court system that has no place in our democracy.

  • who told you that Saudi has religous law. it is faked. Lashes applied only on poor and non-saudi muslims. Islam guaranteed human rights. The distorted image of Islam was created by cooperation of Arabic govs and America in Afghan war.

  • @billjhon2011 So women can't drive... Why?

Women are not allowed outside without a male relative and a veil.. Why?

Religions other than Islam are subjugated... Why?

    Homosexuals are executed... Why?

    BLASPHEMY IS A CRIME.. Why?

Oh, thats right. Those are all Secular humane just policies. Nobodies rights are impeded, as long as they do and think and feel as they are told by a Totalitarian religious nutjob crime family.

    You disingenous, Slack-Jawed Troglodyte

  • Ezra has proven that the HRC's are nothing more than kangaroo courts. The panelists are inept and have no legal training. The whole process is a modern version of the Inquisition.

  • @steadywaters1

couldn't have said it better myself! Koodos to Ezra Levant for sticking up for all Canadians' rights-be they on the left, right, gay, straight, bi, colour etc...

  • Pour it on buddy!!!!!!!!!

    Never back down!!!!

  • Ezra I'm a leftie from the USA! My wife is Canadian and disagrees with you but I wish we had more of your ilk here. Your a remarkably intelligent guy and you didn't deserve to have to explain yourself. Canada HRC and the Imam were way out of line for pulling this stunt on you.

  • @HKGJOHN Your wife supports thought crimes ?

  • @marekstob I know this was months ago, but I just wanted to say, he's being a fool, please ignore him.

  • in response to a book discussing the rise of the evangelical infuence on the conservative party, Exra went on a rant about how it is the Jews that are taking over, not the Christian, and it is the Jew we have to look out for. Although I don't see why this complaint came before the commission, Ezra is one sick fuck.

  • @Jesus4forver Please, do all of your fellow Christians a favor (assuming you ARE, in reality, a Christian) and don't spout bigoted idiocy like "dirty Jew". It proves you clearly haven't paid enough attention to the Lord's teachings in the first place & makes the rest of of us look like idiots by association.

And there's nothing sad about Levant having the right to publish a magazine. hat's the point of this whole video. Free speech, whether you disagree with him or not, is what's at stake here.

  • 'Hand scrawled crap' is a good description for Section 13.

  • I don't have a transcript!!Who was grilling who? Brilliant Ezra, the whole of England salutes you!(apart from the liberal bed wetting lefties)

  • AHahah "I don't have a transcript or anything"

This is supposed to be a court?

  • I may not agree with what he did, but the moment you take away his right to do it you are opening the door for censoring any and all forms of expression that 'someone not of your opinion' finds offensive. its the avalanche effect.

  • The only way those neo-Nazi Muslims could accuse Jews of having a double standard is if the Jews would be for a "human rights commission" to go after Muslims for their speech. Jews do not favor that.

  • Lol, it is funny how they think that prosecuting others' speech is fine, but doing the same to them would be like murder.

  • "Hand-scrawled crap" from the complaining imam -- LOLOLOL!

  • I agree with his argument and support free speech, but there is a double standard. People get all up in arms over cartoon Mohammed and people say who cares, but the second someone criticises Israel or radical Jews they are labeled an Nazi. I don't know much about Levant, but the fact that he is a Jew and the argument he makes shows he dislikes muslims, I highly doubt he would be as passionate a defender if someone were in the same position as him but the controversy was regarding Israel.

  • the difference is being called a nazi by a private citizen, and having your right to criticize islam, jews, israel or whatever abridged by the government. the social double standard doesn't matter unless it results in an abrogation of legal rights.

  • Find one example in any of these videos that demonstrates that Ezra dislikes Muslims.

You can't. An example does not exist. What Ezra has no use for are radical Islamists like the dink that brought the original complaint.

  • Well Played Ezra

    True North Strong & Free

  • fix, I swear, you are f*cking incoherent!

  • "You're not in Saudi anymore."

    BINGO!

  • Is that a heinekin that Ezra's got there?

  • lol. No silly. Its Canada Dry ginger ale. I thought the same thing tho at first.

  • It would have been kinda cool if it was a Heinekin though, wouldn't it?

    haha

  • its a san pellegrino limonata, not canada dry

  • Oh! I see.

I'll go for a double shot of Paddy with lemonade,But wait they wouldn't respond to the paper I sent for next two years, and complainant wouldn't be allowed to have such Koool Aid advertisement for self projection & cry out loud as this dude or Mark-Stain do here.

That Kinda sucks here, isn't it?

  • lol, yeah! in fact you should get yourself into a session with that silly commission gos just so you can bring a heinkien with you

  • Hey yeah, that'd be kind of cool.

  • I know it's a bit of a cliche, but there's something Kafkaesque about the arrangement of this particular proceeding. The lone painting--warm and pleasant--in the middle of the wall separating drab inquisitor/anonymous bureaucrat with ludicrous power of life and limb on one side and the victim of the grinding wheels of mindless state machine on the other. And in defense of so loathsome an ideology as islam.

  • Here is what Canadian Statesman Mr.Ezra said in U.S. Congress's bi-partisan human rights caucus on July 11, 2008.

"Publish annual reports shaming foreign countries for their abuses of freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Put Canada on that list, to let our government know what they're doing isn't acceptable."

Having regard to US legislative process,"Fixhist" feel moral responsibility not to comment on this issue any more.

  • why have i never heard of this man until now?

  • Perhaps Danish had to learn hard way,the treaties & laws of reciprocal implied restrictions & rights of intellectual property.

Japan has taken up danish copy right registrations from July 1st,2008,

so far Denmark didn't have any one to register their own copy & Intellectual property rights.

I Wonder! who will pay for death of 100 people due to Danish caricature product?

Never too let, I hope these danish caricatures should go away, sooner the better,I guess.

    [entry made by Fixhist/own A/C]

  • This guy is a true patriot. We all could learn lots from him, wherever we're from.

  • very much so it is easy to sya i am canadian ...but the proof to me is in the pudding ? will you kill or fight being it verbally or physically to maintaine out freedoms ? if you not then you are not a canadian it is that simple i think most candians would gladly lay therel ives on the line to protect this beautiful and free country ...she is a beauty isn't she ?

  • Nice work.

  • Keep up the good fight brother.

  • A human rights commission that persecutes people for exercising them. How Orwellian. freedom is tyranny. Tyranny is freedom, eh?

  • "That Imam in polite company"...was that a joke? Did I miss something here. LMAO!

  • He's referring to how all interpretations of intent should be handled--not by the state but through societal association and disassociation. Courts, he claims, are meant to handle deeds. Intent (thought policing) is not a matter for the "hammer of the state."

  • ForOrAgainstUs

    I was being cynically sarcastic.

  • These videos are amazing...I just wonder why Ezra wasted money on that lawyer? He clearly needed no help.

  • Levant's a charismatic speaker, but he'd have been foolish not to hire an attorney to sift through case law for precedents, suggest argument strategies, give presentation advice if he'd had prior experience with the tribunal, etc.

  • Well Ezra is a lawyer.

  • Ah, I was unaware of that. Even so, lawyers especially understand the truth of the adage, "he who is his own attorney has a fool for a client".

  • @Haskell9 I believe he did have a lawyer helping him. Read his book 'Shakedown' which is about this very issue (and this hearing). Quite a read.

  • . . . from a Jew no less." No kidding, you are Jewish?

  • "...he went to the only people (HRC) who would accept this hand-scrawled crap from him"

    Ezra rocks

  • Fixist, you have the same problem soharwardy has, you aren't intelligent enough to make a coherent argument. No wonder you fools still live in the stone age.

  • No! Basically Mr.Geert Wilders has to move to Canada. He doesn't seem to have support in Netherlands as Mr.Ezra Levant enjoys in Canada.

Mr.Ezra gave his Calgary south seat to Mr.Steven Harper in 2002, He had obliged sitting Prime Minister.

Mr. Geert Wilders will be a huge support for Moslem bashing cause for Ezra and Mr.Harper, especially in upcoming Election.

  • Thank you vascoa, we are winning the fight. The section of the Human Rights Act that allows for this to occur is being deleted. Europeans must do their part; we must fight this evil at every opportunity. Don't you let us down either. We will make the world safe for human beings again once the lunatics are under control.

  • GOOOO CANADA!!!!

Kick those muslin fucks to reason!!

    FREESPEEECH SHALL NEVERDIE!!!!!

All of Europe is With you I'm 100% of that!!

    Don't let us down..

there's no way to show more support, But GOOOO CANADA!

  • Thank God For America..

How Many Dhimmi`s Have You guys Got Down There?

Careful...they are dangerous...they hate their own countries!!

Almost as badly as Code Pinko!!

  • Hello idiots who think You Tube is subject to Canadian Censorship.

American Companies are only subject to American Law, and in Canada your precious censorship card will dissapear on account of low popularity.

  • Go Ezra Go!!!

    Stop Thought Police In Canada!!!

  • Sunday, 24 February 2008 10:50

Pakistan has ordered all Internet Service Providers to block the YouTube website for containing material considered offensive to Islam.

An inter-ministerial committee has decided to block YouTube saying it contains 'blasphemous content, videos and documents', a government official has said.

The site will remain blocked until further notice.

  • Go EZRA GO!!!

  • Phattite

Your amazing you want to silence free speech because you consider this video as a critisism of Islam and you guys have already shown the world how you take critisism haven`t you.And how do you know he hasn`t recieved permision?

  • Typical freedom-hating hajji. Hey hajji! You can't silence EVERYBODY!

  • No Hajji can't,but Hadji does.

  • What? Hadji silences everybody? Why can't you shut me up then? Why can't you... well shit, boy! If Allah is so ackbar, why is he so weak that HE can't shut me up?

  • Refer to case history of CHRC Canada, you will know who Hadji is.

Allah is Akbar,I have no doubt on it.Its up to to you to figure out if he has or no control on you, I don't preach.

  • lackluster. no ownage

  • Didn't you know he also has exclusive rights to his own image, hajji? And even if he doesn't, were these videos not already public domain? YouTube (an American-based company & subject to American copyright laws) will likely ignore your petulant complaint.

  • Get Osama Bin Laden's Balls out of your mouth and talk like a man.

  • u ezra's boyfriend?

  • Ha! Ezra slams it home..."he went to the only people who would accept this hand-scrawled crap from him..."

That's you and your phony baloney commission lady!!!

  • The New Face of Canadian Leftist Fascism - a frumpy, dour, politically correct, middle-aged woman in a blue pants suit suppressing free speech.

    Downright Orwellian.

  • Reminds one a little of Hillary Clinton, doesn't it, GC?

  • Yikes! You are right! No wonder I found this video so chilling.

  • as an American I freaking dumbfounded to see this guy have to defend his own right to speak freely. WTF is goin on up there in Cananda??

  • This is news to me. I'm shocked actually.

  • No one finds it hilarious that people are giving all these comments thumbs down... thus making harder for others to read them... and this whole debate is about free speech?

    LOL

  • The freedom is there, as they have not been removed. But, When someone does put something out there as their own "free speech" they must acknowledge that it can and will be viewed differently and possibly ridiculed. YouTube is ALL about what's popular.

  • okay, but I just think it's funny. My point was not that posts shouldn't be ridiculed and everyone is entitled to view each post differnetly... but that they should be viewed. IT's harder to view posts when they get thumbs down is all.

  • So people express their freedom of speech to show their opinion on a post and you criticize their freedom of speech?! You can select show "all comments". I'm sorry that other people expressing their freedoms results in you making one extra mouse click. Obviously Youtube has become a fascist state.

  • Who are you talking to lol?

  • You...

You criticize others freedom of speech just because you have to make an extra mouse click.

  • Me criticizing others of making it more difficult for others to view FREE SPEECH is in itself criticizing free speech?

  • More difficult? Yeah, that extra mouse click is a bitch. OK, you convinced me. Every person that selects a thumbs down is a anti-free speech stalinist. :)

  • Interesting, I wasn't trying to convince you of that. Just that it was "hilarious."

  • well that's a design feature. Do you think the thumbs down feature should be removed totally or present an option to remove thumbs down comments?

  • No because i thumb down opinions i disprove of or that are in error often. At the same time i often use the reply or show link to view disproved of comments and often read them and then wish i could thumb them down sometimes. I will also respond to thumbed down comments often after revealing them.

  • Go shove a koran up your ass where it belongs.

  • When Ezra printed the cartoons he was exercising his democratic right to Freedom of the Press. Now he's in the ridiculous position of having to fight for that right on behalf of Canadians, a right we thought we already had. We cannot allow newcomers to take away our freedoms; people died for them. We wouldn't want to live in the kind of society we would have without them. If Muslims don't want freedom, there are other places they can go. But we will never give up our freedom. Never.

  • I have watched the video. Ezra does makes total sense. Where is your logic davidmardan, in making a statement you are making - beats me!

  • insecure???? he kicked the crap out of this debate with dignity and reason. Don't confuse being 'passionate' about something with being emotional.

  • He was passionate and extremely logical.

A rare combination. Those who have studied rhetoric and linquistics would be impressed with his argument structures.

  • If you REALLY care about free speech, you should support Ezra!

  • What do you mean by "discriminate against a fellow citizen"? Also, this Saudi is not a citizen?

  • @davidmardan

Even the natives came through the Bering Strait about 10-15000 years ago.

That's not the point. The point is that we are in Canada and have the right to free speech (or so we thought).

Muslims are not used to talking. They have the supreme arrogance to believe that we should all be their bitches, or off with our heads. No way!

  • Kinda hard to enforce Saudi laws and/or thought process in Canada because in Canada, people are free

  • "in Canada people are free"... did you watch the video???

  • I was saying in reference to Ezra saying that the man who brought up the complaint that back in his land, Ezra would have got lashed or since he was a Jew, put to death. No, I am pro-Ezra. It's kinda hard not to get the idea that Canada is free when you see his vids

  • what Canada do you live in fathers get useless visitation orders but if u dare hurt some1's feeling you get dragged into this kangaroo court

    wtf

  • That's there and in here in America, and if you don't like the situation, do something about it. Don't say you can't because obviously this man is trying to stand up against the system.

  • If we were free this man wouldn't have been hauled before this stupid commission to explain his political beliefs.

    We're not free.

  • Okay, your comment has no relevance to this post, friend.

  • He's making a good point, but his over the top style actually distracts from his argument.

I heard the debate on CBC's "the current" when it aired, and Levant certainly won.

  • Oh and P.S. Nick...

It is not a slippery slope it is a reality as it can be done to anyone 'offended' by speech. You are the one who seems to have faulty logic. We have free speech only to the point that you piss someone off and they run to the Human rights commission to try and take away your right to it, so you may content yourself with your "general" free speech and watch as everything else is gnawed at by bureaucrats sicced by pissed off imams, priests, rabbis, , scientology lawyers, etc.

  • A slippery slope is only not illogical when you can prove one event will lead to the end extreme result you're arguing for.

    Good luck with that.

  • Yo, BigMouthNick, you seem confused. You agree that Levant was well within his rights to print the cartoons and that he should have the Right to "free speech". Then you go on to imply that he has not had that right impinged and that others won't even he his has; He was dragged before an appointed offical to defend his "speech" and has been forced to Pay,in both time and lawyer fees for that same speech. That is NOT free speech.

  • You seem confused by what I said. Quote me in my confusion, it might make your statements more credible.

  • Ezra Levant is my hero!

  • I think PMSH ought to knight this guy.

At least let him get a ride in one of your CF-188 Hornets :-).

  • The complaint offends me

  • Me too! Shall we try and build a case against the Human Rights Commission for offending US ALL?

  • A Jew, a Muslim, and a Marxist. Oh the irony! :)

  • Michael,

I don't know if I'm the only one who "gets" your comment, but I think it's hilarious ... and so true! Kudos!!

    Robert

  • Erzal you are not alone,if I may be so bold you are one more rung in the ladder to freedom. Ive had enough of the Islamic positioning in our society. Im sick tired of the bully which says "my god is so great he is better than you infidels, better than free word, better than your free print better than you"

I am sick of it. If they want to live in Islams prision there is an established nation built from ground up just for that role. Saudi Arabia is that prision, by thought, by word, by action.

  • Poor rag-head terrorist can't get their way

  • The state should fear the citizens, the citizens should not fear the state in a free democracy

  • He completely destroys her at every turn.

Wow... that there are groups who actually get away with witch hunts for thought crimes...

Fu#@$ing scary. They must be disbanded at once.

  • How can one destroy someone when their role is to ask questions? lol

It isn't a debate... she asking him questions.

  • "How can one destroy someone when their role is to ask questions? lol

It isn't a debate... she asking him questions."

Listen kid, this isn't a debate. This isn't some group of kids on the internet arguing over who's God is bigger, this is a real life situation with grown-ups going over legal matters.

He destroys their self-righteous purpose for existence, elimination the validity of the entire event.

  • "she asking him questions"

She most certainly IS NOT "asking question".

Its a witch hunt to try and punish people for what they think and say, the freedom of speech and freedom of thought be damned.

I thought that cartoon was funny, and does not come close to hate speech. If there was a Christian comic about priests molesting children, that would not count as hate speech either.

Grow up and realize what is at stake here.

  • Patcondell makes the points you clearly missed:

    youtube dot com slash watch?v=XUTFcgE1F7w

Did you even hear the guy when he said this case would be thrown out as a nuisance lawsuit from REAL courts?

Dont you get it? Did you hear him welcoming the punishment as a doorway to sue their ass off?

  • "He completely destroys her at every turn."

That was the quote you used.

Thus, my point stands. If you want be a grown-up and have a grown-up conversation, choose your words more carefully.

  • Nick,

I don't know how old you are, but you seem very naive about history. My father's family comes from Germany. Because of that, I've devoted a great deal of time to read about how that country could have gotten so warped. One of the reasons is that the state got involved in deciding what could be said ... and ultimately what could be thought. Please start reading history more.

    Robert

  • Quite frankly, I think it's quite naive to take one extreme case and make an extreme point with it. Could I agree that this really isn't a human rights issue and the cartoons should be allowed to be printed? Sure. But arguments that this human rights complaint means the in Canada we don't generally have free speech or we can think what we want, is a ridiculous fallacy (read: logical fallacy... slippery slope).

  • Nick, no I do not fear the Canadian gov't at this time. But neither did the German people ... in the beginning. What business does the gov't have asking Ezra Levant or Mark Steyn or me or YOU what our intentions were in saying what we've said simply because someone was offended by them?

  • Are you aware that I actually have the right to file a petition against YOU, stating that I'm offended by your comments on here? If I were to do that, and you're a Canadian or someone who writes for Canadian periodicals or websites, then you would have to defend yourself, at your own expense?

  • You probably don't believe my last assertion, do you? It's absolutely true. Please check Wikipedia for "Richard Warman". Sure, he mostly goes after Nazi websites using the HRC as his weapon. And while I'd be the last one to ever defend Nazis, we have to stand strong and believe that free speech must be permitted.

  • So, for exactly the same reason that I don't think I should have the right to haul you in front of an HRC for anything you say about or to me, neither do I think that anyone should be able to haul Ezra Levant or Mark Steyn in front of the HRCs for what they have written, said, or published.

  • but you do gotta admit it's a little funny that you bring up Germany and then defend the guy sending Nazi's to this thing? lol

  • It's more than just "asking questions". It's serving a subpoena on a citizen that forces them under compulsion of law to appear somewhere and testify under oath to an interrogation by the state. It's not an afternoon chat over tea. It's a legal proceeding that could have real consequences for him.

  • Once again a Levant rant hits the nail on the head.

By the way, how does a government lawyer subjecting a citizen to an expensive interrogation dare to show up and ask him questions about a radio interview... without hearing the interview, or reading a transcript? Unbelievable.

  • No kidding, Cbreitel, its amazing to see the first of what could be new "thought police"

Such a group would destroy the basic freedoms of a civilized world.

  • Sure, send that imam to sensitivity training so he can get to understand the 21st century better.

Debate, baby. It's a way of life and it goes hand in hand with democracy.

  • I remember watching the debate Ezra had with that dummy, he's right, he cleaned his clock and made him look like a fool, which wasn't hard as he was helping out quite a bit.

Ezra mopped the floor with him, that must have burned being he believes Jews are descended from apes.

  • any idea where i could find that debate?

  • I haven't been able to find it. There is a good interview with Ezra on CBC radio. Google 'ezra levant as it happens'.

  • There's a few people that I wish I could call the police on and have them get the lash.

  • Was that bitch from the ACLU, or the Canadian equiv?

  • Canada, but it's practically the same thing

  • The bitch is Shirlene McGovern from the Human Rights Commission of Alberta. Her goal is to make "human rights" an oxymoronic phrase.

  • Calling her a bitch is classy.

  • Anyone find it funny that the comment

"calling her a bitch is classy"

gets three thumbs down? That's extra class too.

  • No, the Human Rights Commission.

THE Canadian version of the ACLU is on his side, not that of the Muslims.

  • The Human Rights Commissions in Canada are sort of the opposite of the ACLU. The HRCs (there are regional and national flavours) are government agencies set up originally to root out discrimation, but have become a hammer wielded by the thin skinned who believe that they have a right to never, ever be offended by anything.

  • Are you really so stupid as to not understand that the ACLU *fights* suppression of free speech, as opposed to what the HRC is doing here? Pick up a newspaper.

  • Thank you Mr. Levant. You are an inspiration to those who fight for liberty everywhere in the world.

  • Mr. Levant, you are an inspiration to freedom-lovers everywhere. Please continue the good work!

  • I would love to debate one of those Imams one on one. He could even bring his Ak47s and stones if he wanted.

  • If this case doesn't produce BIG reductions in the ability of islamofascists to silence debate, then the western world is stuffed.

  • I'm not an artist. I can't insult Muhammad with an original caricature. This is my attempt at an "offensive" joke:

The pervert Muhammad (phew) had an unfortunate birth defect. He was born with his anus on his head. Yes, Muhammad was a REAL shithead. That's why muSLIMES wear diapers on their heads.

If I offended you, please post your Fatwa on my channel page.

  • You just made my day RonaldDumsfeld. Haha, that was awesome.
