painkillers and seeking some legal advice through medical malpractice. Tongue does come out more now but at what cost? Fed up lf this pain aand tablets. It will clear up apparently, but still waiting!
how much does this cost? I'm 21, and I also have ankyloglossia. I only sometimes get tongue-tied, and I don't have a lisp, however, it still bothers me. To any professionals out there: If I do get the surgery is it possible that my new free tongue could negatively impact my speech...as in, will I have to relearn control over my tongue to produce certain sounds? Also, I've seen this procedure done by a laser, and they advertise no bleeding or stitches because the cut is immediately cauterized.
I just got mine cut today, about 8 hours ago. Being a 27 year old man, my frenulum was quite fibrous so the doc had to cauterize a bit and applied about 8 stitches. The procedure was pain-free (though the anesthesia hurt a bit). It took about 25 mins the operation. It hurst quite a lot now, but the result is immediate: my tongue is going places (or was, while it was numb) I could never reach before.
i got a question...i jsut had this done like 3 or 4 days ago...i got about 8 stiches i think and i wanna know when will the stiches come out? and swelling be away? cause i dnt wanna go to school till its gone and my moms gonna force me one day...and im only 12 thx =]
I had no idea why my 5 year old was having a hard time saying certian things, but as soon as I looked in her mouth, you could clearly see she was tongue tied. A simple trip to the ENT, and it was s imple outpatient procedure for her. she loves being able to stick her tongue out. i am jsut glad we did it early rahter than too late...
