Fuck my 5th period teacher is making me watch this. we're gonna throw this big toga party. and we had to pick a number that represented a god. I got stuck with apollo. anyways. anyone from 5th period seeing this.........hi? anyways. not hating on 5th period but anyways, I always hated some of you guys. anyways. nice part 2. =D
Uh you have to remember that it is "mythology" and not cetain facts. Like they said at the beginning there were aliy of different stories and beliefs amongst many people.
Looks like the so-called "specialists" in this video lack quite a bit of knowledge in greek mythology. The Golden Age was never "created" by Zeus; it actually refers to the time when Kronus and the other Titans ruled on Mt. Ophrys (not Olympus). According to Hesiod, it was a time of great peace and abundance. The aforementioned Age came to an end after the Olympians succeeded in defeating the Titans, and specifically when Prometheus bestowed fire unto mortals (first act of corruption).
you guys can find the whole documentary on Curia1981's channel... for some reason it's not complete here. but isn't it good? WAY better than the first ones I saw
Great upload! Thanks man! Btw, I have to note that according to Hesiod, first there was Chaos (the primeval matter in its raw form, law-governed chaos as physics define it today pretty much) and Eros - that is to say, love, the connecting and repelling force of the universe that brings atoms together and thus forms matter... Greek mythology is more than merely fancy stories. It's just in code... the more we learn about science today, the more we understand it.
@teenkid123 It's an allegory - Athena, Wisdom that is, comes to the fully grown and is never unarmed. Wisdom is fully armed and armored, ready to give an asswooping where necessary. Also, Athena had two special "super weapons" let's say: the Aegis and the Gorgonion... there are many mentions as to their faculties in the ancient texts but no percice description of what they actually were.
@teenkid123 When Zeus and Metis married and Metis became pregnant, an oracle declared that she would have a daughter, but if she concieved again, she would have a son who would overthrow Zeus. so Zeus swallowed Metis and the child growing within her and while Athena was maturing inside Zeus, Metis crafted armor for Athena (don't ask me how) and the noise gave Zeus headaches (thats how I think it said, haven't read that part in a while). and someone cracked open his head, and there was Athena.
