  • Man , what a bad design. It surprised me for so bad planned ergonomics.

  • Thanks for posting these great films. My dad was a rear gunner on Wellingtons in WW2 (mostly Western Desert and Italy) so the earlier films were really interesting. I had no idea they used training films like this. Gave me goose bumps to see what dad would have been doing (mostly at night too). Air gunners are an underestimated bunch. The safety of their crew was often in their hands. Can't answer SONOR's question but I gather the Defiant wasn't a great success so maybe there was a problem.

  • Question - The aperture for the control column was a vertically aligned diamond. Surely this prevents vertical movement of the guns whilst rotating the turret? Or not? Anyone out there watch these great films other than me?!
