  • I don't see how this is a wrong tempo.

I've heard faster versions of this but this is more of a "ragtime version" and sounds fantastic!.

  • whats this song called?

  • @anglerfly Duh! THe animal cracker song I should have read other comments

  • I didn't mean to upset anybody... it is a beautiful restoration and one of my favourite instruments. However, and I do agree with AAErikCO that "tempos are opinionative" indeed, but it is to slow for my liking and when compared to Irving Aaronson and His Commanders it is indeed slow. There is no way you could fox trot to the piece at this tempo and a lot of these arrangements were made for not only listening, but dancing. But then that is my opinion. I do thank you for the vids! Karin

  • Roll is playing way too slow...

  • WRONG!

  • Yeah there is nothing wrong with this tempo at all. The tune is "I'm just wild about animal crackers" one of my favs! Tempos are opinionative anyway!

As a personal request could you please post a few hot G roll blues numbers? Did Blythe or Clarence Johnson do anything for G-rolls or were any of his works converted to G-roll?

Lastly, I would like to compliment you again on this wonderful machine and restoration. So glad it had the chance to be properly saved as you have done it justice!

  • @AAErikCO hi Erik, Columbia and Capitol made G-rolls... I think the last known one is numbered a few numbers higher than 500. I don't think they "recycled" tunes as much on their G-rolls as much as they did on their A-rolls, which is why they released such a ridiculously high number of A-rolls when compared with, say, Clark.
