People had jobs in entertainment that they would be looking for all their lives and would have never gone far without the attitude at MTV at the time. Yeah they wanted to make a buck & they did but in the search for that ever one more dollar they dug a hole from which there was no artistic endeavor-just the buck. I think for young people now is that they experience music before 1990 in a club scene; no BS.
