I do believe the U.S will one day split mainly because of how the left and right are becoming more aggressive towards each other. The U.S was founded by independents who have warned people numerous of times about having separate parties that would lead up towards another rev. war. Professors existed during the revolutionary war and they predicted a war would break out soon, which it did. The same goes to civil war, professors predicted that war as well and people back then didn't believe them.
