  • Piękny balladowy utwór w starym stylu...Kto zna...Kto pamięta?

  • OMG, I thought I will never hear them songs again. Thanks for posting it.

I heard them and brought the album when I was 17 years old in Hong Kong. No sight of them once I came to the US. Ha, now I found them here. Thanks.

  • @gremilenjr Dude, this IS the original version of "Battles" from the '79 release! Fan#1....really?

  • loved it when it 1st came out. looked for it for almost 30yrs. found it here yesterday. the best rock and roll ballad ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where can i download this song?

  • One bad ass song!!!!!!! Love It!!!!!!!

  • This version kinda SUCKS compared to the original off the Debut lp!!... That version Really is GREAT!! ... anyone who likes this has to find the original!! ... AXE FAN #1! .... Tim.

  • @gremlinjr : I bought Axe's first and second LPs from a cut-out bin at Wal-Mart back in 1983 because I thought their cover arts were very cool. I lost those LPs in the late 80s and never heard them again until very recently. I had completely forgotten this song from the first album until I heard it again and when I did it was like seeing an old friend from high school again for the first time in 20 years. Trip! I agree with you on this although it's still a very true/faithful version.

  • Awesome song and album from very early 80's.

  • most underated band ever

  • axe were class! loved their LP s to bits.

  • Great song - memories

  • 1st band I ever saw live, I was 13 years old. Wasn't to familiar with them at that time.

They opened for OZZY @ Irvine Meadows Ampitheatre 1982. Blew my mind, bought all their stuff since that time. Best concert of my life! ,,,,,,,,not including the US festival 83 2nd day! ROCK ON and luv u for sharing this!~ Stewy

  • Pls Help me, I need the tabs for this song! if anyone knows, pls, its important

  • Hey Pascalometer, I painstakingly worked out Battles by ear about 15 years ago. Check out my cover above under 'Axe's Battles by David K and Friends'. If you like it, I can email you the chords and keyboard parts

  • Excellant Jam for those who know the diffrence between good music and bad.

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG AND LOVE THE VOCALS OF BOBBY BARTH...MUSIC SPEAKS FOR ME....

    Rajesh Semrete Selassie Aggarwal

  • jokerman..I agre on being idealized, the world was wide open with so many doors to open. what happened?

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS

  • Can anybody help me out with a song called Just A Pair of Strangers (at least I think that's the title) by a group called Axe?

I don't think it's the same Axe as this band and they might be from Central New York.

It's a mid 80s rock and roll tune - maybe a little Southern rockish.

  • hey, man. i know a guy in this band, I cant find chords anywhere though. have you found any?

  • Joe Anthony, growing up in San Antonio this is a classic....

  • KMAC/KISS 99.5! Remember Budgie? Just found them here on Youtube - give "Breadfan" a listen...

  • thought i never hear this again what a great song

  • Grew up in Gainesville...brings back memories!

  • Just Gonna smoke a smoke and remember how idealized we once were.

  • Theme......old school kickass

    what else can be said?

    Say It.

  • fags - should call them '5 fags' - sucks

  • your a idiot

  • bwshortdick-you r a pussy!

  • The plaintive mulberry sings well

  • i live in ohio and i love axe a station around here plays them from time to time

  • i saw axe at the sunken gardens.they were cool.they opened up for saxon.caesar

  • Oh yeah, Legs Diamond....DUH!!! Thanks to you both.

Man, I sure miss concerts in Sunken Gardens, and Freeman....hell, I miss SA. There was always great music in SA. Do either of you remember Juggernaut?

Oops... this message is meant for both Hector and Lucas

  • they have a song called hallows eve

  • Hi,

thanks for uploading! Heard this song the first time when I was seventeen (Munic City Nights-Samplers), and since then I love it. (I prefer this version, the other one (on the 20 Years?) is not so good, I think. (Only my opinion)

Its a pity that no more than a few people seems to know this great band!

  • i hear this song about 15 years!everytime i hear it it travels me....to magic places

  • i'm from san antonio and i didn't realize other places around the country didn't know who axe was!

    lol

    i love KZEP!

    :D

  • Man, I'm from Brazil and I used to listen to the Offering album 24/7 back in 1983......they were quite famous down here......almost cried listening to it again.........

  • I'm from S.A. and you are right, it seems like no one knows who Axe is. I travel working always calling in stations to play Axe and all the could say is who.

  • I'm from SA too, and I haven't heard these guys since I left SA in '88. Is 99.5 KISS still around?

  • oh yeah, KISS is still around.

  • great

  • Das beste, das ich je hörte.

  • I've been looking for this song since I first heard it, so thank you so much. 8) lol That was so long ago I actually forget when but I remember loving this song!!!

  • axe ive never heard wow

  • love this song , Im from San Antonio, Texas and this town is die hard fans of Axe, "battle" is one of San Antonio favorite. KZEP 104.5 fm rock .....

  • Yeh i am so happy KZEP in San Antonio plays this along with other rarities. It really separates that station from all the other crappy stations around the country.

  • yeah that is true one station in san antonio really rocks and that is KZEP i made my move to the rio grande valley McAllen and the Q 94.5 rock station here dont know about our classic rock such as Moxy , Triumph , budgie, Axe , and other bands Joe Anthony the Godfather helped. Im freakin lost here no die hard SA fans i miss san antone.

  • Yeah, I remember Joe Anthony!!! He introduced many bands to the world. Y&T, Tigers of Pantang, Scorpions, Def Leppard.... Do you remember a song called Woman, and who did it?

I'm all shitz&giggles talking to someone from home. :~)

  • woman?

    i think it's Legs Diamond... isn't it?

    i'm not sure.

lol, my mom would know, she loves that song.

  • Of Course thats Legs Diamond- like the song Fugitive and Gotta walk away.

  • @swamp1985 Totally agree! I'm in Corpus Christi, Texas; the classic rock station here really sucks compared to growing up with 99.5 Kiss and 104.5 This CC station plays the same songs everyday - very little Triumph, Legs Diamond, Axe,, etc.............Move away from S.A. and you'll hear how deprived other classic rock stations are.

  • I must have been living in a bubble, because while visiting in San Antonio I heard Battles played and loved it. The stations I've worked at we never even played any of Axes's music....missed out for sure! I've looked for it but so far have not been able to get it anywhere....still searching! Awesome ballad. :>)

  • #2 rock ballad of all time

  • they're playing san antonio, tx in july 2008

  • its too bad bobby barth and edgar j. reilly and teedy meuller are not with them

the only original member is the keyboard player and even he was not with them in the version of axe that we all know

  • no edgar riley and the drummer are playing with them soon

    im brad banhagels son.

my father is the one who got permission from bobby to bring back The band

  • thats cool you father is brad.

axe was one of my favoriate bands of all time

i can't wait to see them

  • It brings lots of partying memories.

  • man...that is the original version recorded on their debut album. Those guys made some excellent music. Too bad they don't get paid for it.

  • I already have this track written into my will to be played at my funeral!! This is my all time fave song, just wish Bobby would put Axe back on the road and come to the UK. This song is dedicated to my gorgeous wife Lisa xx
