trying to understand the reaction of the glider, i played several times the video from 0,16 to the end. it looks like a moment is missing there where the pilot looses control. but i fell of my chair listening ... owww... a-ha ha ... o o o ... shit shit shit ohoho come out (shit) come out (shit) come out GOOD JOOOOB(!) ou! HE SAVED IT(!) ou! oh josh oh men... lol!
@prasinoprosopo : small wingover (ok) followed by 2 progressively larger. last wingover pilot braked with little wing speed & stalled one side of the glider = spin. All done close to ground. recommendation = watch clip "Wingovers by OZONE"
First thing clever to do your wingovers in that altitude specially when second they look like this and third ...sure he saved it - lol ... he was just damn lucky
if that spin happened 8 meters higher, you'd not count yourself lucky! but you are.. practice with more altitude, and use outside brake to keep pressure and build up slow.

I must agree that the sport is very forgiving...as a navy pilot and a paraglider pilot, the paraglider is by far the most forgiving aircraft I've flown. If you can solo with less than an hour of flight...it's forgiving. Nice save though, not luck!
Wow! Shows just how forgiving this sport can be. Try that maneuver with anything else that flies. See ya!! A little close terra firma to be fooling around. Just one man's opinion.
ancoraluna: "Wow! Shows just how forgiving this sport can be".
Not true - it is luck yes but nothing to do with the sport. It is like skiing of a cliff and landing in a snow drift and not the rocky outcrop right next to it. That is all, it's just luck this didn't all start at 10ft lower altitude.
I guess you could say that a PG is safer because it's wings can inflate after collapsing ... but then again no other A/C has wings that collapse and get tangled when you stall!
yep. that collapse was due to bad technique. weightshift while you are swinging through under the wing and use brake at the top of the swing through to yaw the wing ready for the next one. dont forget to use some outside brake when the wingovers get big as that is the side that tucks because of low angle of attack.
This is a perfect example of "Risk vs. Reward", and a better example of "SHIT HAPPENS". NO matter how experienced a pilot you are, you risk being seriously injured or even killed doing manouvers or "showing off" without enough altitude to correct a problem, or having the time to throw a reserve. "You do have a reserve? Which is no guarantee either!" Thankfully though, it appears you walked away from this!
This cat got way lucky! You shouldn't do maneuvers under like a thousand Ft agl. This could've ruined everybody's day. I would have whipped out the spare yellow underware at the first sign of an asym!
Todo fora do sincronismo!!!

10 meters higher or 10 meters lower would have ended up in hospital.
This was your lucky day

100ft above the ground is not the place to attempt wingovers!

Why you are so stupit and make a wingover so near the ground?

seems to me that this pilot is trying to make wingovers without weight shift which is very important to make good wingovers.

Those were some pretty ugly wingovers, you gotta commit hard to the first one and complete the turns. Keep the wind positive throughout

What a damn idiot. doing that stuff so close to the ground, without being able to control it.
I can't believe how anybody can be such an idiot...

didn't deserve that landing doing stuff at that altitude.
