  • magneto has a very strong Anakin-air about him. only he dd kill his creator and got away with it

  • Does anyone know if the score is on youtube?

  • Albert Pyun's Captain America started off a similar way, so they Singer didn't get my sentimentality at the start here.

  • In Marvel comics, Hero's have flaws and the "villians" sometimes have merit. That's why I've always found Marvel to have more interesting stories.

  • magneto must of done a revenge

  • Magneto isnt evil! he is just a very broken man with an unpleasent past!

  • God this version is so much more visceral and heart breaking

  • i remembered from the 2011 version, i havnt saw this movie because im not a big fan of xmen, i only saw the 2011 version, i like seeing it is because is set during the cuban missle crisis one of my favorite event in the cold war.

  • It was a recreation? I always assumed that the opening scene in First Class was literally the opening scene from X-Men just with inserted shots of Shaw and using a child-actor who looked the same in subsequent scenes.

  • I'd like to see someone put up a side by side comparison of this and the recreated scene in First Class...

  • this is the reason he hates humankind. he does not want mutantkind to suffer a holocaust like the one he experienced

  • sad scene

  • Very sad but brilliantly done!!!

  • wheres da scene where hes laying in bed and u here these dark guitars playing

  • I hope marvel makes a 'Thunderbird' movie. John proudstar is ma favorite hero. Btw magneto rocks

  • was he released or sent in extermination camp?

  • @sheikhbellal123 watch first class

  • @sheikhbellal123 He survived

  • Brian Singer did a great job with X-men 1 and 2. Too bad he left X3 for Superman Returns, X3 would of been a good movie if he'd directed it.

  • in the movie part klaus schmidt saw erik at the gate kocked or is that charles looking out the window or who is that at th window?

  • I forgot how heartbreaking this scene was.... I had not seen the scene in years and am once again moved almost to tears.

  • Why was he separated from them to begin with? Just on a basis of who's fit to work and who's fit for the gas chamber?

  • @pemchem You got it.

  • @MrImastinker Ok. How awful... I'm not into comic books, but in the newest X-Men movie, doesn't he say something referring to this to explain his behavior? His actions are completely understandable.

  • @pemchem Well, his parents were being taken to another part of the camp to be tested for fitness, or whether they should go to the gas chamber. He was reaching out to them in desperation, and unknowingly triggered his powers (being pulled towards the gate, crumpling the gate) He didn't really know what he was doing.

  • i prefer dc to marvel even though i love x men series and some hulk movies nothing beats the joker in the batman series

  • Very powerful scene. I hate fucking nazis. Jews rock!!!

  • @YamasUnit4Ever

what about commies?or maybe they're the good guys

  • The germans who saw that must be like

    WTF just happened?

  • I mean that Marvel comics doesn't normally have a black and white; good and evil villains and heroes, where as D.C. comics has people like Superman whose just the antithesis of "good."

  • where can i download this?

  • Shaw:Bring that boy to me.I would like to have a word with him.

  • @Greek12guy umm...I think you mean 'Aryans', not Arabs, and the Aryans were just an idyllic race that Hitler wanted everyone to be.

  • Erik Lensherr isn't really a bad guy, b/c he was embittered by the holocaust, was tortured b/c of him being a jew, (and also b/c Shaw used his anger to show his powers) so really Erik is a sympathetic villain. I doubt he would ever of became Magneto if it wasn't for the holocaust.

  • @BigtimeDirector2005 Probably not

  • fuck those who says that jews sucks and love Hitler and the Arabs. FUCK THEM ALL!!!!!!!

  • @Greek12Guy

Dude theres a difference between hitler and the arabs.Hitler was a german .Arabs are a race .

  • Classic! It's the new kid who ruined it in the First Class version... and the scene where the mom dies is another proof. Tooooo much drama in his game

  • Would Magneto have supposedly been 12 years old in 1944?

  • The imagery of the twisted metal is striking...one day not even a place like that will be able to hold Erik.

  • Erik is not evil, he´s more a disillusioned good guy. He knows what humans are capable off when threatened with something they cannot control so they try to wipe it out.

  • First Class re-used footages from this scene lol

  • @SirCidKnee Such a powerful scene -- I didn't mind!

  • @SirCidKnee remade it actually, and for a good reason too.

  • this version was better cause it was longer and the nazis shouting made it more authentic

  • @youngboysnation nazis...? oh you probably ment germans

  • for some reason this seems much more gritty than the x-men first class scene

  • Nice rendition of Barber's piece :)

  • It is pissing me off! Wy there is written Poland 1944. Find me a map from 1944 with Poland as a country on it! Germany destroyed Poland and Germans built camps!

  • Can someone upload the first class version

  • this scene doesnt match xmen first class.

  • @MrCalmlikeaBomb

Because it was for the first xmen?

  • I found this version was far more emotional than XM: FC. Better actor, I s'pose. I didn't really find the new version that upsetting. But, this one. Oof.

  • @NarudakiMadsenKoh oh didnt notice :P

  • Eriks dad is German and the mom is polish and he can speak polish ;D

  • @Raiden6815 its weird cuz eriks dad never appeared in first class, only his mother

  • how he survived??

  • Erik is Polish 50 % and German 50%

  • they put this scene in XMFC right?

  • Mr Magneto is polish :)

  • @Zadhompl well in the comics he is german

  • @IamKingOfHearts In The Films , his father`s German and his mother`s Polish . Both were Jews . As was Erik before his experiences caused him to lose faith in humanity and the grace of God .

  • Fuck germany fuck this soldaters from german dead

  • omg was that in the new xmen 2??

  • The hills of one's youth are all mountains, or craters! Remind me of Orkan Man training to get tarantulas and the movie arachnaphobia! Is This Chernobyl or metro 2033? Or the video Game Singularity tie-ins!

  • The hills of one's youth are all mountains, or craters! Remind me of Orkan Man training to get tarantulas and the movie arachnaphobia!

  • This scene truly captures why Magneto is the way he is!

  • "The humans must be crushed, and I have the power to do it" - Magneto X-Men animated 90's

  • magneto the most powerful jew im the world

  • Whos the daddy now, you NAZI scum!!!!!!!

  • This scene and XMFC's opening is exactly the same direction wise. I personally like XMFC's take on Erik's mother screaming and fighting. The two different Erik's both broke my heart. But for some reason, the newer version was more powerful.

  • @TogetherAtLast Is the "First Class" version on youtube somewhere?

  • Such a powerful and awesome scene, it captures why he is the way he is!

  • sooo much better and more legit than the dumbass x-men first class scenes of him in the camp...smh

  • @lil0ze It's the same scene :/ I don't see what the big fuss is about. It looked the same

  • @Nacho773 It is different.

  • I didn't actually cry the first time I saw this scene, but I came really close. I know that Erik/Magneto is supposed to be this "evil" mutant, but you really can't help but feel sorry for the guy. No wonder he grew up to be so nagry and bitter. He lost both parents. And it was all the fault of humans. I guess if I were in his place and I watch both my parents get killed, I'd be pretty angry too. :(

  • @AFVfan1

Erik is most certainly not meant to be portrayed as evil. He is a man broken. He's tried his entire life to put his past behind him, he started a family of his own (his daughter was killed by people trying to kill him because they feared his power) he tried to live Charles's and his dream and a young mutant name Douglas died under his watch, he tried to isolate himself in space and the U.S government still hunted him down. Erik is the best example of how Marvel doesn't do good/evil.

  • @diedahero they did evil pretty well in Apocalypse's depiction...lol

  • @diedahero What do you meen in your last sentence?

  • @diedahero Never have I been so sympathetic towards a villain...

  • Definitely the most the moving part of the movie

  • Don't take this the wrong way. I loved X-Men First Class, but this was a much better intro to Magneto's motivation. Rather than suffering directly for being a mutant, he witnessed humanity's evil to one another and took this lesson to heart.

  • Schmidt, Klaus Schmidt

  • this was the beginning of 1st class

  • @FrozenSparky Nope, the beginning of 1st class is a quite different, but the set is this.

  • i cried at this scene where the evil German Nazi bastards took his parents away it's there falt that he wants to hurt people when he get's older

  • Go Jews!

  • @360Nomad Go Poland!

  • This Kinda of Reminds me of that Chef Boyardee Commercial I don't have a family in the orphanage or Encor Commercial Don't Have any guests for dinner!

  • they recreated this scene in first class, all they changed was the actor who plays Erik, the nazi guards are the sme actors if u look closely, and he scene at 0:19 is exactly the same aswell in both movies, first class was an excellent remake of this scene, but the scene from this movie had more mystery and darkness, in first class it had a great extension and explanation to the mystery from this scene

  • @tommytorch95 they change language as well, in this movie Magneto was screaming in Polish, in First Class he is using German....

  • this scene is so much more powerful than the First Class version, Singer set it up beautifully, its darker and has a stronger atmosphere of the situation.

  • @Simonio8 really? I watched first class and thought it was executed better. Then I rewatched xmen and still thought that first class's remake was more polished.

  • @Simonio8 the first-class version is neat, too, though

  • @Simonio8 Well, the first class version was only a recap of this scene. Putting it in there again would be in poor taste as there is a different director, and most of us x-men fans have seen it. Also, First Class's aim was to show what became of young Erik after his power was discovered, and not to set up the atmosphere of a concentration camp, but a tortuous effort at experimenting with mutation.

There is no doubt this scene is the better one, but that doesn't take away from First Class

  • @Simonio8

    never ever dude

  • @Simonio8 and also he did take care of details and reality of this. Here they are talking Polish while in First Class they speak German. That's quite strange to me and I think they changed it only for Fassbender like it makes any sense.

  • @greyization Most Poles are fluent in German as well as Polish due to Poland being founded by German immigrants . Also in most of Erik`s scenes in First Class , he was speaking to Germans while here he`s speaking to his Polish mother .

  • @Simonio8 Bryan wrote XMFC. Perhaps he should have used the same exact scene.

  • I love how they reused this scene in First Class, really makes it seem like the movies are connected. I was hoping they would reuse it, and Vaughn didn't disappoint me.

Definitely a powerful scene. Singer did well in the first 2 movies.

  • @SkellosFalks it set up the continuity perfectly

  • and like that I was hooked

  • I loved seeing this in theatres with people who were diehard fans of the comics. I didn't know what was going on with this character, but once the fence started moving, all the comic fanatics were squirming around going "OMG YES!! THIS IS AWESOME!" It got me so excited :D

  • wow. this is pure epicness!

  • Great and powerfull scene. It was recreated in x men first class

  • I was 11 years old when I saw this scene for the first time. It was the first time I had ever seen Magneto use his powers on the big screen and I was absolutely spell bound. From this scene onward I was completely absorbed in the movie.

  • "You've come a long way from just bending gates, Erik"

  • look its mageneto !!!!

  • Cos a azy...

    j/k

That's pretty awesome to see that this scene has been recreated in first class !

  • In First Class, they had to reshoot this scene.

  • just because this was the best xmen as of yet doesn't mean it's a good movie. (same for deadly hallows)

  • i prefer this kid magneto to the kid magneto in first class.... they shoulda got this kid to reprise the role..... on second thought hes prob too old now. anyone know who the actor was?

  • @sMac3322 his name is brett morris, he's a canadian actor and has 24 now... too old for the charecter. although this brilliant work in this video if you search for something about him on the internet you won't find anything beyond his work in x-men

  • @TheAlinepj ohh kk thanks dude

  • i loooove this scene. i've always had a crush on kid magento.

  • in 1:27 his mother screams in Polish ,,my child'' and in 1:30 her says ,, i'am his mother'', in 1:35 again she screams ,,my child'' and that again several times AND in 2:00 Magneto screams Mommy, Daddy so magneto in origin is really Pole

  • this scene was in first class but it further tells the story beyond here

  • @fpascale789 Don't you men it was in the first film and later tells the movie here?

  • If he knew the powers he had then all those german would be smoked....

  • I love this scene, because there is no campy dialogue, stupid comments or a poor attempt to make a sex, race or cultural joke.

This scene alone tells a very sad tale which provides a backdrop for the entire film

It's pure, raw emotion and this is the best of what Hollywood is.

    Telling a story.

I wish they made more scenes like this.

  • Mistaken that scene for a TSA gate at the airport....wow such similarities.

  • Did they re-film some scenes, but re-use others, like the Jewish man shovelling??

  • So Magneto is Polish \,.,/ You can hear his say "Proszę nie" which means "Please NO!" Muahahha

  • did they reshoot this for first class?

  • @SacrificerPS3

    Yep.

  • @SacrificerPS3 yes with new actors

  • Omg, I would love to have his power!

  • goddamn nazis

  • little did we know ten years ago, that someone was watching this whole thing...

  • @marvelmax03191 not just any "somebody", it was Kevin Bacon, haha

  • @marvelmax03191

.... and little did we know of his horrendous accent...

  • This is so much more emotional than the remade version in X men first class.

  • First Class recreates this whole seen and then extrapolates. It's awesome.

  • for some reason i thought this was professor x for the longest time but i just realized he doesn't control metal, i'm so slow, lol

  • guys i ve seen this yesterday with my friends...one of the best movies ive seen lately..beast is pure shit..but the rest is amazing. 9/10

  • This scene is almost completely replicated in X-Men First Class. The actors are different but I wondered if they used some of the same footage.

  • @Sampiro They did use some of the same footage. But it wasnt too bad of a recreation. You could tell it was a recreation but it want terrible.

  • You understand Erik´s rage from this.

  • I literally just walked out of First Class a few hours ago and it opens with this scene, and I can't tell if they reshot some stuff or just used this piece entirely (definitely some of the exact same shots are used). but the next scene with young Erik in First Class the kid looks exactly the same so it was some inventive casting with an actor who looked exactly like this one. or they reshot it. By the way, First Class is totally worth seeing if you like this scene for the eventual payback.

  • See! I told ya there is a movie series called the Holocaust!

    XD

    jk, jk :P

  • love this scene

  • which xmen is this?

  • @galaruler68 X men 1, and it's also in x men the first class. :D

  • @RayWilliamJohnson You're a X-Men fan too hey?

  • Magneto is not a simple villain. He's more a disillusioned hero.

  • What I never get is, if Magneto is Polish why does he never have Polish accent?

  • @john3000931 because he is a super Mutant, i don't know maybe next to controlling metal he is good in foreign languages as well ? :)

  • @john3000931 Because , he lived in Germany for a while when he was hiding out after The Holocaust looking for information on the ones responsible for his mother`s death , then he went to England and learned English after the camps were liberated and later immigrated to America .

  • @john3000931 Judging by his voice when he speaks English in " First Class " , it`s also quite likely he spent some time in Ireland .

  • Wait...do you really have to have the Holocaust in your silly little comic book movie?

  • @MsgtRowan420497you're existence as a human being is a lie !

  • @arthofwargamist Lol, you're stupid too. Everything I do leaves an electronic footprint, how can it be a lie if there's evidence it isn't? Not only that but I'm very successful. So back down kiddo.

  • @arthofwargamist The Holocaust is a lie. :)

  • @MsgtRowan420497 Go fuck your sister. Inbred Nazi hick.

  • @MsgtRowan420497 Do the world a favore and go shoot yourself :)

  • @UnderclasSum41 Wait, is that Idon'tgiveafuck language for THE HOLOCAUST DIDNT HAPPEN? :)

  • @MsgtRowan420497 No, It's the Why-bother-having-a-discussion-withe-assholes language for motherfuckers like you.

  • @UnderclasSum41 What? The holocaust didn't happen? Okay. :)

  • This is a sad part of my country history, but i did not know Magneto was polish citizen, this is cool actually. You can hear his mother screaming ''Moje dziecko, Moje dziecko'' which in polish means ''My child, my child!''

  • best part of all of the movies. this is so EPIC:

  • @kungfupandaisawsome let me guess.....you support the american occupation of the middle east because it's epic

  • @defmx04 Calm down there, BRO. This is pretty epic, that doesn't make it "happy". The Dark Knight was an epic film, and that wasn't very happy, either, wouldn't you agree? So shove that superiority complex of yours up your ass. Why are you watching this in the first place if you're just going to troll?

  • @defmx04 anha

  • @kungfupandaisawsome let me gues, you are the classic stupid kid that thinks he is smarter than everyone else. i dont think shit about american things. im from spain, and i like the scene of the movie, because its epic.
