  • Haha wow very believable. Except the flow felt a little awkward.

  • Good but say tv (tee vee) not tee vay

  • OMFG I DIDNT EVEN KNOW YOU WERE BRITISH. and i'm american.

  • reaally good !

  • GREAT :) Just say TV like Tee Vee rather than Tee Vay :) But PERFECT otherwise. I wouldn't know you weren't american if I met you on the street.

  • I can't even tell you're British!!!! You guys both sound so American!

  • you guys are pretty good!!!;)

  • the curly haired one could use work but the brown haired one is pretty good

  • Sounded perfect. I have never been able to fake any accent from the UK, I've been told. I think a lot of people in the US believe their fake accents are great, but Brits say we're not passable. You could pass. Now I'd like to hear you imitate Australians, Irish, and South Africans!

  • Well I want to hear your normal accent to compare them

  • Lol!! Loves it.. teeveeeeeee lol. All Valley girls accents sound forced so y'all fit right in.

  • Make sure that you pronounce your Vs as Vee and not Vey or Veey, because I noticed that a little bit.

  • Dark haired girl- good. We say TV "shows" though. Not programs =p

Blonde- good, just a little valley girl-ish.

  • Actually really good!

  • look at the tags, it says that they're fake accents!

  • wow prety impressive

  • *im american* theyre preetty believable but i hear some british in there.

  • You two sound like you have Northern American accents. VERY believable though

  • the accents are really really good. Just curious, why are you doing american accents?

  • you nailed it. good job doing it from the start of the video, because then it's really hard to change your perception and think of you guys as british XD haha

  • GREAT AMERICAN ACCENT AND BY THE WAY, Answer The question, how do you say water

Oh, and biking to school is pretty normal in america and, what you talk about is pretty much the american lifestyle

  • @matthewaltea1 americans pronounce water like: wa-tur, and english people pronounce it like: wah-tuh im american

  • you two have good accents only one word tho TV sounds off a bit

  • T-veee

  • wow. you guys are GOOD!!!

  • You guys did really well!

My only suggestions are to sound a tiny bit less nasal and work on saying "t.v" (keep the "ee" sound flat).

  • You girls sound like Californians Check out my video ;) Good job!

  • see ? everyone loves usa

  • a few times you got a little shakey on it... but for the most part...I couldn't tell that it was fake

  • You can tell there english when they say "TV"

  • your accents are very good, but some word choices are a bit off. Don't say "programs" on TV, always say shows. And don't measure TV watched in shows, measure it in time. So you would say "I watched five hours of TV."

  • y'all are really good! work on some of your long vowels though

  • Little too clipped on the consonants. If you are trying for Midwest try making statements sound as if they were a question.

  • i'm from england and i believe that you are too, this is a really good american accent though!

  • i don't think you are from england

  • This is perfect! :D

  • I can NOT get myself to believe you guys are from London...!!! O.o I'm American and if you walked up to me in the street talking like that, I would NEVER guess you were foreigners!!!

  • you guys are american lol

  • not gunna lie... out of all the attempts ive heard you two are the best.

  • y'alls accent is very good. Its pretty neutral. i think most people would think you were from california or something like. but here is my question for y'all: would would the english find it offensive if americans tried to speak with an english accent while there?

  • hahha you guys sound just like us:)

  • So I highly doubt you guys are from London.

  • BUT... make sure u dont say TV like tay vay... we say tee vee

  • im american and i thought that u guys were kidding!!! ur accents r sooo amazing! finally british people who dont think that we all sound like valley girls...

  • im american and i thought that u guys were kidding!!! ur accents r sooo amazing! finally british people who dont think that we all sound like valley girls...

  • im american and i thought that u guys were kidding!!! ur accents r sooo amazing! finally british people who dont think that we all sound like valley girls...

  • UR NOT BAD BUT I SAY IT MORE LIKE TEE VEE AND U SAY LIKE TEE VE

  • i cant even tell that you guys are english your accents are perfect i would have never known that you werent american if you didint say

  • You guys sounded really good. You didn't sound like total valley girls or Canadians which a lot of British people do when immitating an American accent. Just for the record though, we usually say shows instead of programs.

  • Great job!

  • If you girls are British, I'll eat my hat.

  • i can't really comment because i didn't hear your original british accent

  • Your American...I'm English and I can tell your faking

  • Your accents are fairly convincing but the English accents breaks out every now and then. What you should do is keep your English accent because Americans love English accents. Moreover, nobody likes a poser. Be proud of where you come from. In America, the best way to fit in is to be yourself!

p.s., Madonna lives in England and sounds like a total fool when she tries to pick up the accent.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks! You didn't make us sound like VALLEY GIRLS!!!!!

  • FFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEE

  • It's tvee not tva and in America we call programs shows

  • Very good! A little the girl in black sounded a little too vally girl but, you both did extremely well. Some of the best american accents on youtube.

  • Are y'all being legit? Or are you just acting like your british? Because your accent is perfect!

  • whoa i thought you guys were americans living in england...

  • Excellent! :D I'm ecstatic that you guys didn't sound like valley girls. :]

  • You sound normal (; I live in the US. Good Job! haha

  • You girls have good american accents! :) Im glad you didnt add in a billion "likes".... Usually people do that when they want to sound american... hahah

  • the one thing it seems everybody gets wrong is the Americans and English say the beginning of actually more or less the same. dont overdue the aaaaaa so much. Best I've seen so far

  • honestly, i don't 100% believe that you aren't american. you sound like natural born speakers; i haven't heard a SINGLE indication of you being english, except for calling them "programs" on t.v., in america we usually say "shows". programs isn't wrong, it just isnt as widely used in america.

  • Oh wow, that's perfect.

  • they're perfect!

  • i thought u were american

  • Americans dont have accents? x]

  • @yeah they do LOL

  • No they dont Im american you British people do. w.e

  • @TeheheUnicorns idiot

  • very good. after you got started, wouldn't have thought you weren't from america. couple of drifts didn't come close enough to giving you away; could've been normal american weirdness. cool that you used apparently real subjects with assumed accents.

  • Wooow! You two sound like american's :)

  • You guys are good..every ones in a while I hear a little bit of British...but I wouldn't be able to tell if you didn't tell me you were British. The only thing was your TV and I caught you saying your t's really softly, like, " 'don' " instead of " 'Don't." Americans have really hard T sounds at the end of words. So yeah. But good job!

  • did*

  • you guys sound really good i hate it when british people think we all sound like valley girls like in the stupid movies but you guys is very well

  • haha you didnt even sound british at all......um if i attempted to souind british...it would be an epic FAIL haha good job ;D

  • you guys are british??

  • You're accents are great. The only things i heard that was slightly off, was how you guys both said TV.

  • This was probably pretty difficult, after a while of doing another accent it becomes harder to rake what you are saying seriously...I'm from America and my English accent only last for about 5 minutes before I start laughing at myself

  • you were great but let me help you ....call me michel_pis@yahoo.com ..lol

  • I think your American accents are great, you sound just like one of us, except for just a few little parts that sounded a little British, but really good! :)

  • You guys are awesome!

  • i do a brit poshy accent all the time, its good to u guys are doing ours

  • Could've fooled me. =]

  • I come from England to and that sound similar, but better than my try :)

  • p.s. it was specifically in the line "it wasn't really easy." The other time, the word "easy" was perfect. Oh, and your vowels had the same small error on the word "TV." But if someone weren't already listening for a British accent, they wouldn't notice those little flaws -- anyone who didn't know would think you were an American.

  • Your accents are very, very good -- if this is typical, you could be accepted as Americans here with no question. Girl on the left, you slipped up a tiny bit on the word "easy" when you said the exams weren't easy -- the two vowels in "easy" sounded like they were cut short a little and your tongue was a tiny bit too far back. Other than that you were perfect. Since this video is 3 years old, by now your American accent is probably perfect. :)

  • I'm an American, and you could have fooled me with those accents.

  • pretty good for a standard generic american accent. now the real difficult part is trying to copy an accent like mine. go listen to the old southern accent. and try to copy it. lol

  • @Nick22pr I teach the generic American accent professionally, and I can tell you that doing as well as these two girls are is really difficult. Some people even think Southern accents are easier for British speakers, because there are usually fewer r's to deal with.

  • Perfect!!, but I wish you would have ended it with your British accent, for comparison purposes.

  • American accent is kind of vague. There are at least 30 American accents, depending on where you live.

  • I LOVE THE ENGLISH! YOU GUYS ARE JUST LIKE AMERICANS BUT YOU TALK FUNNY! LOL =D

  • A Little to Stereo Typical.

  • Sounds authentic. Typical high school girls lol.

  • What do you need to do? You need to get those English peg-legs over here!

  • Anyways, wanna get loaded sometime?

  • You need to perfect "TV"

  • You said that you took a "bike ride", without any follow-up from there. A key clue you are a foreigner.

  • The accents are great, but I would swear you are from Canada before Chicago.

  • it was really good..... work on the word tv though. and we dont take bike rides!!!!! :)

  • They're perfect!

  • very good...you sound smart...when the english sound classy..interesting

  • you sound american to me, an amercan(:

  • I wouldn't have been able to tell that you weren't American, and I'm from the Pacific Northwest where we probably have the most distilled American accents. :) But I would have said you guys were Californian or something, especially how you said "T.V."

  • when you said i dont know at 00:16 i could hear your british accent.

  • You two did this so well I was actually going to question you on whether you were actually from the United Kingdom or the United States. Until I read some of the comments that other people have left, I didn't find anything uniquely British about this video at all.

  • We say both "go on a bike ride" and take a bike ride." And yes many of us Americans do take bike rides. Your accents are actually pretty good though. And being from Jersey, I swear most of this state does NOT sound like the Jersey shows you see on tv.

  • It's quite complicated to do American accents, because in usa.

we have different accents. In california its usually the valley girl.

but can't quite say that because everyone is from everywhere over there.

Plus there's new york/new jersey accents. & Then country accents/midwestern accents. So when people try and attempt accents they always assume all americans talk like " Valley girl, ' like omg ' "

  • why do you wanna sound like us? i love British accent.

  • You did awesome... I would have never known you were from London if you had not shared. Many Brits get too much of a Southern draw when they attempt the American accent. You guys did not make this error, and I appreciate the effort! I agree that the word "TV" needs work. Less "a" and more long "e" sound for this word.

  • Your accents are awesome!!! This is the first accent video of Brits doing American that has been really good. Your accent slipped up a bit when you said "TV," but if you hadn't said anything about being from London, I might not have noticed. Awesome job!! :)

  • Apart from obviously being American, you said 'finals' in reference to exams. Nobody English says this. Sorry.

  • @plinkoanorak i say finals, if they're finals instead of regular exams :P

  • @terrapin5 Because you are American. The point I was making is that in England, do you rarely say the word 'finals' to talk about exams. I live in North London, and nobody at my school ever called them finals. These girls are pretending to be from London, hence why I said they slipped up by using American phrasing. Do you understand what I meant now?

  • @plinkoanorak xD I do. Almost everyone I know does, actually.

  • @ReiAime ....and where are you from?? America? Did you completely miss my point?

  • @plinkoanorak I am, and I did. But I re-read you comments below, and I understand what you were saying now.

  • That was actually really good

  • Great job!

  • i bet they r from america

  • wow... i wouldve thought u were from here. good job! :)

  • good jod

  • good job

  • Agreed, "TV" was slightly off, but other than that, very nice job. The average American would never know the difference.

  • The vowel was a tiny bit off when you said "TV". You made it sound like "tee-vay" instead of "tee-vee".

  • You sound just like Americans, creepy! But awesome!

  • o.o WOAH you guys are great at it. sound just like us Americans.

    AMERICA.

  • u guys r good! can ya try an 'jersey accent'.. i wanna know who ppl think i sound XD

  • finally a video where british people are doing a good american accent, by this i meen they are not trying to talk like hillbillys or people from new york or california. very very good, maybe you should do a video on how to talk in a british accent.

  • Spot on! If you hadn't informed us you were from London I would have thought you were Americans. :)

  • (as an American) id say you did perfect don’t change a thing :)

its refreshing to hear a real American accent and not a "valley girl" impersonation

  • Good American accents lol

  • Oh god, you guys have been watching MTV

Better than sounding like hicks though =D

  • very good

  • theyre okayishh haha just needs alittle more "eeee" sound for the letter "y" and more "r" sound for..... all of it.. haha sound pretty good to me!

  • lol sound like americans to me

  • they are American, easy to hear

  • @zax2327 They're not American; they just watch American shows and listen to American music!

  • These girls are American......this is clearly a joke video

  • @Thelookoutslookout They are not American; the reason why they get the accent right is probably they watch a lot of American shows.

  • You say tv as tvay. it's tv.

  • whoa whoa whoa did you say you were from MONSON as IN m-o-n-s-o-n?

  • pretty good... the foreign-ness makes it sound very generic. i say "take a bike ride" and i'm from california.

  • Yeah, all good except "programs" try tv shows

  • Come to America and speak in your normal accent. Guys here eat it up. You would be very popular.

  • Very good imitation. I would have thought you were from California, or on one of those teen shows, because the girls on those shows all sound the same. :-)

  • Great job! But Americans don't say "programs" when talking about tv. We say "shows".

  • west coast accent- you watch too much tv haha

  • You nailed the neutral or (true west coast accent). I live in the southern Appalachians and I am trying to develop a neutral accent for business and academic settings.

  • You both nailed it. You were entirely convincing.

  • oh. my. god. Americans DO say programs so shut up and stop saying we don't

  • We dont say programs we say TV or shows

  • Girl on the right was great, the one on the left still pretty good but slipped a few times. Overall great except we Americans say TV shows instead of programs.

  • Im American and I have to say you have a perfect accent I cant even tell that you’re British

  • we say 'shows' instead of 'programs' but your accents are very good (:

  • I don't believe it. I think you two are americans.

  • this is really good! i'm from america, and i honestly couldn't tell that you were from anywhere else. i can't even slightly hear your accent, this is awesome, haha.

  • they;re not that bad, just suburban lol and when you say tv it sounds like "teevay" or "tayvay" lol

  • they;re not that bad, just suburban lol

  • U sound like ordinary American white girlz to me. However, I did notice something. In America, we say showz. I watched "like" 10 showz last night. Not programs. I don't think you're really British. Itz hard fo' doze Britz to hide their accents.

  • It was really good. I couldn't even tell that you two were British at all.

  • You don't sound very british at all. From a Canadians point of view.

  • WAY too nasal. But you do resemble a kind of accent in California.

  • Really good ! I heard the English accent when you said tv though !

  • we dont say "programs" either we call em "shows" or "tv episodes"

  • Hey, not too bad, you guys did really good. Work on your o's. They need to be shorter. Other than that, it was really great. Pretty darn close. Nice job!

  • i could hear a little but if the british accent but that all in all did not insult me like all the others do when they try the american accent! so really good! :)

  • amazing!! was it difficult through the whole thing?

  • wow if you didnt say you were practicing your American accents I never would have noticed any differently...good job!(:
