Lithium batteries work great in cold weather. For this run I didn't have any, so I just packed a hand warmer in the camera case. That seemed to help.

Survivorman manages to keep his video cameras working in cold weather, although he often comments that it's a real chore to keep the batteries warm. I'm sure you could figure it out.

I really like the photo/video/narrative approach, Davy. This is a great idea. I would love to join you on one of these somehow and help with the photography. With my snaps and your commentary, we could produce some very cool stuff.
Maybe we also need some video. I wonder how we could keep the batteries working in the cold temps, though.
