Im on the kata right after taikyoku sondan , i think its heidan shodan not for sure,.. but i like your channel it helps me out...the only problem i have is remember some of the moves in japennese ( i think i spelled that wrong) but yahh if u could do a vid on blocks, kicks, punches and say the japenese names that would be a great help!
We use the Taikyoku concept also to train basic technics like Uraken and Shuto Uchi in this enbusen form. Its good because of the different turns. And together with Shotokan combinations and foot technics it becomes a various training system.
I gues that was the idea behind of Gichin Funakoshi.
The Taikyoku series of kata was introduced into shotokan by Funakoshi O-Sensei as a way to simplify the principles of the already simplified Heian / Pinan Kata and are a preparation for the Pinan/Heian kata. Taikyoku can be translated as either "First Cause" or "Grand Ultimate". The word Taikyoku refers to the Chinese philosophical concept of Tai Chi (Taiji). In Japanese, Tai Chi Quan is called Taikyoku Ken. I train this kata series in Tai Chi style using Taoist breath
This is a great kata and help students learn the moves when they are not in the dojo. The instructor does a great job here. Thanks from the Seido and Shotokan dojos.
is there any way of getting a copy of you video for my 6yr old? she works really hard at the routine, however practice at home would help her. A visual is her best aid.
thats easy, download the Real Player, play the flash on youtube and on the right top you can download the video. Play it with the VCL Player. If it not work, sent me your eMail ....
I hope you're joking man. Even someone who doesn't train martial arts should be able to tell that the forms aren't meant to be taken as literal self defenses. They're there to teach you a specific concept. In this case, this is a very basic beginner form to teach you how to time your punches and footwork, and how to move the body as a whole. The stances are low to build muscle in the legs. Obviously you wouldn't use them on the street, nor would you put your hands at your sides.
