Just bought it on DVD. Yeah, I liked the start - and then it just got worse and worse. No - It was a great movie, that's nt what I ment. But They changed the story all around. Honestly, it doesn't really matter what "the fans want". Ask any one in the movie business - directors, producers, reviewers - they will tell you it all matters how the masses will react and not how a fan base will. They have to do what they think is best to make money, and that means making a movie that can stand on it's own, rather then trying to cater to fans. Why they changed so much, who knows, it doesn't really matter at this point. On it's own, it was a good movie, so get over it.

@ESAsher001 yet the Harry Potter movies were so close to the books. Even The Last Airbender was actually close to the STORYLINE. I would have no problem with the movie, and would ignore all the stupid character edits if they didn't mess up the storyline completely.

Hollywood takes liberties with movies and they do what THEY feel will bring in the most money, they don't really care about catering to a fanbase. People seem to forget that.

They really messed up this movie compared to the book. Just as a movie alone, it was pretty good. But-the fans don't want that.

I got over theirage at first, because I though- well, Logan looks exactly like a Percy, and they were a pretty good cast.

I got over Annabeth's hair color. Little details.

But I CAN NOT get over how much they totally didn't follow the plot. At all.

No Clarrise. No Ares. No Kronos.

Where did the 'find the 3 pearls' plot come from?

@Delempsion Because if the producer/director doesn't care about important details such as the characters' ages or basic physical traits, then they're not going to care about the story much either and will just do whatever they feel like and make it whatever they want to be irregardless of what's in the books.

Theres a lot of things wrong about this movie:

1. Logan who Play's Percy is 16. In the book, he's 12. the actor of annabeth is in her 20's, in the book, she's 12 and has blonde hair, not brown.

2. Grover's black? He's supposed to be white.

3.They never mentioned the great prophecy or Kronos.

4. They never mentioned dionysus.

5. Grover didn't explain about the search of pan.

6. The entrance to camp half blood is a hill. In the movie, the entrance is in a forest. There isn't Thalia's tree.

If this is the Americans' thought on Greek mythology they should stick to making their own movies and not movies "based" on Greek myths or legends...

Plus they should have made a research before putting random letters of the Greek alphabet in the logo. For example, "Σ" means "S" and "Λ" means "L" and "Ψ" means... well there's not really a Latin letter for "Ψ" . It's like they've written "Psrps Jlkson & the Olymplns" , if they wanted to include Greek names so bad I suggest using Google a bit.

so...they can't do any more movies, right? cause they totally screwed themselves over by a)making percy mid-teens, which messes up the whole turn-16-prophecy thing, and b)not even mentioning a huge portion of the main plot line in the book involving kronos, the real villain. wtf were they thinking? plus it was just a terrible movie...i have to wonder who the hell approved that script, because if they had given it the attention it deserved it'd be another epic franchise like harry potter. oh well
