What the bloody hell did Ken do for cyclists? London is an old city with remarkably small roads in places, cyclists believe they are above the highway code, they don't pay road tax and they choose whether they want to stop at traffic lights, that is why they get killed on our streets! Go Boris!

Don't get out of your pram over this. Statistics have been presented to parliamentary select committees on this very subject. So if you would like to look through the Hansard records then you will see.

Secondly, using the words 'this' and 'they' is not generalising, they are words used to indicate an idea that has just been mentioned.

As an Irish person living in London I would urge that the mayor ends the funding of the annual Irish parade! This might shock you (I have campaigned for this for years). The Republic of Ireland is a wealthy country now, it is immoral for us Irish to seek publc funding for our national day. The 2009 St. Patrick's Day Parade in London should go ahead, well supported and bringing joy to London - but funded by Irish companies and Irish Tourist Board. Cead Mile Failte!
