This is one of the best driving videos on YouTube. A great looking car, beautiful winding road covered in autumn leaves, and the sound of an engine going through the gears. What more could you want?
@gerv8 Wow. That sounds great. My dad and I are about to purchase a project p1800 from a guy. It has a really nice body, but is not running. The problem is, it just sat for a long time and didn't get maintained...been indoors all it's life though, so it's worth working on.
@WhySoFa Yes then it is truly worth working on. Restoring technical and electrical stuff is no problem at all with these cars because the availability of spare parts is just great. You rather have to keep an eye on a good bodywork and chassis. That actually matters! So if you have a car that's been indoors for most of its life you can count yourself lucky ;) Good luck with your car!
@sgtcht92 - I may be wrong, but I think that many of these survived as you still see a few of them on the roads today. This is despite the modest production. Now, how many of them are for sale is another matter. I will agree that it's probably the best looking car that Volvo ever built.

This and the 1800ES were truly beautiful cars. Wish I had one. I'll settle for my '64 Amazon (122S in the US), though.

I had the same one in high school but mine was a BRG 1968, what a beautiful car, what memeries!
Even looks good with the whitewall tires too!
Cheers, Bobbie

Nice! This video would make a good ad for these cars, with the fall scenery, and the great engine sound. Is that the B18 engine of higher?

@WhySoFa yes, you're right! It's the standard B18 engine...

This car is sex on wheels. No joke, forget the new restyled c30. This is the real deal, when Volvo made killer designs. Three cheers and a few more!

Nice work on the custom side mirrors.. very tasteful minor mods, goes well w/ the car! The engine sounds like mine (: Restoring a black 71 1800e.
