in Italy aerospace engineering is the first level degree (3 years) and aeronautical is, like space engineering, the second level degree (2 more years).
@MrBk185 Neither is better than the other, it just depends what YOU are interested in; aerospace includes spacecraft, whereas aeronautics is primarily focused on aerodyne and aerostat...
A few years ago I was in university studying engineering and I was at low point academically speaking. Then, I saw this video one day and it reminded me why I got into engineering in the first place. Now I'm in my masters degree and getting my pilots license along with it!
dude exact same thing happened to me two years ago! was at a low point in uni, saw this video, got a burst of energy. pulled it together, finished my degree now pursuing flight training
@Ixelja A year later and I was just accepted into the university's aviation program. I was beginning to have second thoughts about the whole thing. After watching this video again, I realize why I wanted to study aviation again. Thank you!
Hey, nice vid:) where did you get those aerodynamic charts that keep popping u in the background? on the internet? or files on your computer?:) thanks in advance
Such things can really make me mad, I once uploeded 2 videos which were like the best videos i made and had many many vieuws on it. One guy sotel them and a wek later i had to remove my vids because the guy who stole tham made copyright on them
Out of all the videos using the flight simulator, this is definatley my favourite and thats saying something cause I've got a few of my own thats I spent days or weeks making.
where did you get the narration from? great video.... i love it... (and as a mechanical engineering student i also love fluid mechanics/aerodynamics - which i didn't had a clue about when i first watched this video over a year ago)
You should probably remake/remove this video because, as pointed out below, it's helping to propagate one of the biggest myths about lift generation (the longer distance explanation)
Google the following: nasa incorrect lift, and click on the first result.
There are a few different "correct" ways of explaining lift, but the key is that the airfoil turns flow downwards, producing a reaction force upwards.
The pressure difference on the top/bottom is due to this turning. When a flow is turned, the pressure must be lower towards the center of curvature. Also, the "freestream" pressure far away on the top and bottom is equal. These two facts imply a pressure difference.
Nice vid but a shame it's ruined it for me by making a HUGE error. The plane does not create a pressure difference because "the upper airflow does a longer difference in the same time". It is a widely made mistake that both air particles use the same time above and below the wing to reach the end. The pressure difference is created by increasing the mass flow relative to the undisturbed airflow by means of the wing's shape and the angle of attack.
By the way, the song is called "Europa" by Globus. From their latest album 'Epicon'. ;) There's a link to the live performance in the video response section.
vincemirage91, the man is saying that:1-All ordinary aircraft must have forward speed to fly.2-A meticulous examination of the shape of an aircraft's wings show that it's upper surface is more curved than its lower surface.3-The air, at high speeds, passes over the upper surface at the same time that the air passing at the lower surface, thus the air in the upper surface moves faster.4-This speed difference leads to a higher pressure beneath the wing, and it allows the airplane to fly.
This is the best aviation video I have viewed. This helped me through most of my ground school course. Thank you so much Spice1. Perfessionalally done!
I'm sure now, this is the best fsim video on youtube!! I've watched 1285 videos according to my account and i think 700 of those ae fsim videos, but this one is absolutly the best!! Spice1, great video!!(btw, this is the 100th post:D)
Awesome!! Well know... the song is Electric Romeo by Immediate Music, however, I can´t find it...please let my know if someone finds this piece of art.
Yeah... But how do you define "commercial use"? I'd say one of the best movies on youTube counts as "commercial", but it's all part of the way you look at it. I just think: WoW!!! Great video!!!
My only gripe is that the theory in the video, greater distance in equal time, is fundamentally flawed. Rather, the geometry of the streamlined fluid flow and corresponding streamtubes causes air above the wing to accelerate and move faster than air below. By Bernoulli's equation (derived from Newton's Second), the pressure above the wing is lower than that below. Thus, there's a net upward force, lift.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. You will get kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However, if you don't post this comment to at least 3 videos, you will die within 2 days. Copy and paste this, to be saved

that's the kinda of video that you can watch again and again. The kinda that you get more excited each second passed. Best video on youtube in my opinion. Thank you so much for that wonderful art job!
the theory is true, take a piece of regular paper, dosen't matter, hold it at one end and blow lightly ing the top part, the paper will rise because faster air on the top is moving put on less force causeing it to rise as does a wings faster the air the less the force it puts on an object, don't get wind and force confused though.
