  • I think the one thing I love about Jane as a character is that regardless of how bad things were in her life, she never considered those events as a means of self pity, rather she must have considered her them chances to see just how strong she truly was in the face of such tormenting adversity. Therefore she wouldn't consider her life a tale of sorrow and woe, just triumph.

  • aaargh, when is this out on DVD in England?!

  • Well I'm still partial to all the talking in the BBC 1983 Timothy Dalton version since it was pretty much verbatim . I love when he asks her " Jane, Are you to go one way in the world and I another "? I liked Michael Fassbender as Rochester, though he seemed a little too young, but didn't care for Mia as Jane. For one thing she was too tall next to Mr. Rochester and I loved Zelah Clarke's reserved yet spirited Jane who seemed more sure of herself. I will get this version though. Great story 1.

  • I simply adore this movie...I truly love the part where Mr Rochester catches Jane sniffing his coat, unaware of his weight full stare, that was indeed nerve wrecking...and the music score for this movie simply interprets their emotions and feelings and yes their cosmic and unavoidable chemistry between them..*SIGHS*..priceless..

  • Michael Fassbender's portrayal of Rochester is the sexiest Rochester of them all...his piercing eyes are too much to melt me. He was too much of a flirt also (SPOILER ie asking to touch Jane's hand to make sure she was real when she returned back to Thornfield). I also liked that the 2011 version didn't have this light and happy portrayal that you usually feel in period drama (I'm not sure if anyone follows me). Truly love Jane Eyre because she is such a strong character!!!

  • Even though I like the narrative of the 1997 version, the quiet moments of the 2011 version express more of Jane and Rochester's thoughts and feelings without words (ie Jane being nervous and swallowing; Rochester's piercing, on-looking eyes). I watched a little of the 2006 version and there's too much talking in both the 1997 and 2006 version. I definitely prefer the 2011 version...

  • I went back to re-watch the 1997 version for comparison...in the end, I find that although the story telling of all 3 versions were told differently, I prefer the 2011 version. Why??? Even though the 2011 should've added more about Rochester's wife, I found that it didn't take away from the overall movie. The casting actors for Jane and Rochester was better. The dark, Gothic tone was there too. What excel in the 2011 version is lighting and music...the music reflected Jane's feelings...

  • I love this version (2011) the best. At first, I thought I love the 1997 version the best because of the narrative. I found Rochester to be a a defeated hero and I love his character. The interruption of his wife in the 1997 version was creepy. I then watched the 1996 version and it was okay. Then I watched the 2011 and after it ended, I was criticizing it because it lack some of the events in the 1997 version. I have to re-watch it again with subtitles to fully understand the dialogues...

  • @headachebaby (MYSELF)

    CLARIFICATION:

I meant "interpretation" and not "interruption."

  • I love the 2001 version of the movie the most. The casting is perfect from top to bottom. The contents are the closest to the book. I love it so much that I bought the DVD. However, I don't like the ending. It's a little too plain.

  • Although Michael Fassbender has features that are not noteworthy, and he is not someone who can be called Mr.Gorgeous, I LIKE HIM!!! I want him to be the father of my children!!!!

  • i love this fucking story so much! i want a fucking Róchester for me

  • You did an amazing job on this video! May I make a request? Could you make a "Jane and Mr. Rochester" video with the song Wait For You by Elliot Yamin? I think in many ways, that song fits these two characters!

  • @monny1emano, what program did you use? :)

  • @sehrglanzvoll I used VideoPad editor(:

  • I'm waiting for someone to do the "I offer you my hand, my heart, and a share of all . . .." line as a "READ" poster! (A campaign in support of libraries.) LOL

    Wow! Well done!

  • That's was fantastic! I love Jane Eyre, the book was amazing but this is the best film version i have ever scene:) Beautiful

  • Ok so I absolutely love what you did, the song and the clips are perfect...but I watched it with Usher's Without You playing and it totally works. Someone try it, it really fits well, just start the video a tiny bit after the song starts.

    But seriously great job :)

  • @ncarraway22 OMG IT DOES haha i just tried it(: it especially works at the end where jane is leaving rochester lol(:

  • @monny1emano Lol yeah I think so too. I'm so glad you're not offended or anything :P Some might think it a little too upbeat...especially when the place is on fire. But if you can time the opening right it all goes together perfectly.

  • @ncarraway22 I just tried and it really does work!! Especially from 1:40-2:40. How did you discover it??

  • @ADOROMA Totally by accident. I played the video, but the sound was off and I had itunes on in the background. I had to play it again with the sound on the see the real version.
