how do you get under sofas with that? thats the thing that i'm puzzled about :-/ is there a wide attachment? please respond, i'd be very grateful :) michelle
@ictdude1 Is which the same - DC25 or DC07? DC14 weighs 8.42kg with clutch, or 8.2kg without clutch, so it's heavier than DC25, but lighter than DC07.
hi Jack my mum needs a new vacuum cleaner and our old bad vax broke down so she wants a dc24 coz of the size and weight it seems really good so shall we buy the dc24? we livemin a 3 story house.
Nice video, but this is not a "review" as the title states, nor do you state your position on the performance/price of the Dyson DC24 anywhere in this video or in your subject description.
No, but I would say that any other Dyson vacuum does pick up the most dirt by far. This is the LEAST powerful vacuum out of all of the Dyson vacuums, the regular ball is TWICE as powerful as this one for only an extra $100 or so, try any other dyson and youll see why they're #1 worldwide.
PS) I still think the DC24 does a respectable job considering its size and price, and for some its the best option out of all of the Dyson vacuums
Looks easy to handle on the floor but I would dread doing 12 steps with that tiny little brush...really, it should have a power brush, a longer hose, and I think the extension coming out that low forces the user to have to hold it all the time or it'd be sucked up...no?
A nice little tip for helping with the low cord - you can clip it up under the cap on the handle, just lift the cap put the cord in the gap and drop the cap back down - job done!
It's not really designed for cleaning metal and plastic off the floor...it's a compact domestic cleaner, not a shop-vac...I wouldn't recommend it for this purpose.
I quite like this cleaner actually, even though i'm not a big fan of dyson i do have a few. I have got a 'DC03 clear' and the suction is only 90 air watts so the DC24 has better suction and sounds quieter too. :-D
Dyson is rubbish compared to Miele. Do not buy this! Very unreliable! It only picks up surface dirt like those cordless sweepers! Ok it doesn't loose suction but they should improve the suction power because it has hardly any suction power as well as airflow
lol well this kid i mean he must be in love with vacuums his youtube account is even called "vacuumboy101" thers a picture of a vacuum on his door on guitar hero when u name ur band he called it "danny and the vacuums" its really weird
Lol. I just got off it. I might get a DC25 but it's more expensive and our house is only 2599 sq ft and only about 1000 of it is carpet. I've still got maybe 1 to 2 years before my dyson dies though.
Didn't have a chance to view this with sound until now. That sounds like it has some POWER, I have to say the size fooled me! One thing I was reminded of when you switched it on to do the stairs is that Dyson definitely needs to improve the switches on their uprights. I visited a vac shop recently and their display DC18 Slim had a brushroll switch that was quite hesitant to stay on. Another story I heard is that tech support advised someone to tape the switch down! Unbelievable...
I saw that you had posted this on vacuumland. Did you know that the cleaner that James Dyson hated was the Hoover Junior? Yeah, that's the cleaner that gave him the idea!
Its good though. How is the small bin capacity like when cleaning as I've just my Dyson DC04 is certain peoples homes and the bin has filled completely, can imagine as the DC24 has a much smaller capacity it fills very quickly.
That's a nice machine. Dyson's have a distinctive sound. I noticed though you placed your foot on the pedal at the back of the mjachine as you were putting the machine back into the upright position. You don't need to do this as the pedal automaically moves back down on its own. Good video though.

Curse the man who invented carpets!!!
It has to have been a MAN because men invent things and not wash dishes, do laundry and vacuum carpets.
Why would a man clean something he invented?
That's just SILLY....

the fine white dust is actually dead skin mixed in with dust mite faeces - we shed about 25g per week.
It is actually very hard to vacuum or kill dust mites and any vacuum manufacturer that claims to do so if probably stretching the truth!
Best way to control dust mites is by restricting their food (our dead skin) so they cannot feed and therefore multiply.

Does this vacuum have really good suction power?

Has anyone tried Vaccuming their mattress with this? I want to see how dusty the mattress actually gets...
Boltfiger 2 years ago
I have!! I vacuum my mattress each time I change the bedlinen. You'll get a lot of fine white dust out.

i saw on t.v....i believe the white dust is composed mostly of dead dust mites and their feces.

it must be freaky to live in a house where furniture and appliances communicate with you via speech bubbles.
If I ever come over, make sure I don't smoke anything beforehand or during.
Bad times ahead.

I guess i was being quite harsh but it would be better to buy a canister such as the Dyson DC20.

Nothing can compare to Miele. I own a Dyson DC07 and Miele s4 the Miele was more powerful than the Dyson on half power!
