I have this and "Pitch Black" on dvd. was lucky to have the day off work today so watched them back 2 back with a big ole pizza. I forgot how great this movie is. I long for a sequel, which is possible by the way in which it ended. Long story short Riddick is a complete BADASS and thanks to everyone who made this film.

@graphixgen Well, there IS a story line. Riddick is a convict, then you have the while Undervers/Furion thing going on. That is the storyline. I love this movie though.  I've seen it like 10 times. It's like freak'n crack to me, haha. I love the photography, the special FX, & the look of the different planets. I really liked Pitch Black too. I can't wait for the 3rd film.

I don't understand why the critics slagged this movie, unless they're not sci-fi fans. The sets and costumes were incredibly intricate and rich, the detail to attention was amazing, the background of the various parties was diverse and deep, the action was extremely well-coordinated and done, and Vin Diesel was excellent in the role. OK, so it ain't no Oscar flick but it was still damned good sci-fi and story-telling. Thanks goodness someone saw sense and gave the go-ahead for a sequel!

Most critics suck ass. Your description is spot on. Reminds me of, "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach gym." LOL The only reason I care about critics is because their ratings can potentially effect a movies profit margin & hinder sequels. I don't know WTF they had against Riddick. I like many older/quality films, classics, etc, but I totally LOVE this film. It's the kind I can watch again & again, 1-2 times yearly. Sometimes I watch this & Pitch Black, back to back.
