The car looks great, but it sounds like shit. Same old vacuum cleaner from GT4. The sound is the Achille's heel in all Gran Turismo games. Thats why they always put music on top of gameplay rather than letting people hear the bad sound design.

The tarmac and the sounds of the cars in GTP are still not up to par compared to other racing games. The only true visual treat are the cars, which are ridiculously detailed.

I seriously hope they get it right in GT5. If they don't, that's the end of the franchise.

I haven't played Iracing, but from what I've seen, its not as good as GT5, the main thing about Iracing is the amount of information you can get from each race.... and also has more tools for customization...... BTW have you played GT5 Prologue? if you haven't then give it a try, if you have a PS3....but keep in mind it is a PROLOGUE not the full game...

@champion1642 GT4 is quite realistic but have you tried Enthusia, which may not have the sam ammount of cars as gt 4 or have the uptrade/tune system as gt4/forza , but the physics i found far more realistic than g4. when playing gt4 if feels like driving a brick for most cars, and im not trying to say that gt4 is a shit game just that its not as good as soem others.. now with gt5 they seem to have fixed most of the problems gt4 had, this comes from playing the prologue.. happy racing

@decoyla yes GT4 is quite realistic, but you haven't, I haven't driven most of the cars in real life to determine that it is like real life, but rather racing drivers, and presenters like Tiff Needell and Vettel have tested GT4/5 and have said that they are the most realistic games to exist... Enthusia might be more realistic, or it might just FEEL realistic, and not be I don't know.. I haven't played it.. but in my opinion even the GT5 prologue is on par with full games that have came out.....

Just a quick lesson for you, Polyphony "doesn't" have any competitor back then on the GT4 era to push them hard, but now is a different story. I don't know what your talking about "their making such a big seal out of ferraris in GT",first off no one is making a big deal out of it, it was the licensing problem, because MS,EA took those license And prevent GT from using those cars.Secondly there are lot's of different cars in GT4 and there's plenty of rare ones you don't see on any racing game..

Look at the subtle body movements between 1;09 and 1;15.

This is (obviously) a replay showing all the recorded data that you would be feeling while you're "driving" around.

That subtle suspension movements and nose pitch under braking etc is so realistic.

This is why I say you can always tell how realistic the physics in a car game are by watching the replay.

The more realistic the replay data looks, then the more realistic it was behaving while you were controling it.

The visuals are basically *perfect*.

The sound on the other hand leaves something to be desired. I was a big GT fan until I bought Forza 2; I think the engine notes are more true-to-life in Forza. Also the tyre-screeching / scrubbing noise in Gran Turismo is incredibly annoying and unrealistic. Also coming from GT4 to Forza 2, the handling characteristics seem superior in Forza (I wouldn't have believed it before playing FM2), with a greater sense of weight and weight-shift.

maybe the f430 but the rest are like arcade versions of the real notes. the tires obviously make an annoying unrealistic noise though and to me its extremely unrealistic even with the visuals because theres no sense of speed, weight shift, fuel burning etc. the mph gauge might match the real car on a time attack lap but it won't provide the adrenaline of a 10 mph go kart..
