This some bull shyt ain't no way this is better than the Impressions version.....White artist ALL WAYS wannan steal black music,..... then white people wannan get on her saying it's better than the REAL SOUL BLACK VERISON..... not saying nothin negative bout this group but this the white version who the white people like and the impressions version is A MUCH BETTER VERSION FOR BLACK PEOPLE, IT IS WHAT IT IS...WHITE PEOPLE JUST HATE TO SEE BLACK PEOPLE DO SOMETHING BETTER THAN THEM!
@SuperPeaches58 So sorry you feel that way. I do not think the LP5 "stole " this tune. In fact they introduced this and other Curtis Mayfield tunes to a wider audience. You could say they integrated his music...Many English groups from the Sixties did likewise to numerous other American black musicians. Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, T- Bone Walker, BB King and so many others would be less appreciated today were it not for such musical integration.Imitation is the the sincerest form of flattery .
Always enjoyed this tune by the Impressions. This version is so good also...well done Liverpool Five.An absolute gem and a lot better than most of those other British Invasion bands of the Sixties.
An often overlooked great tune written by CurtisMayfield performed by a criminally overlooked fabulous band from Englad that moved to America in the Sixties.Real nice posting man!!!!
