Craziness (and major game show geekiness) coming out. Was the cue used when the car was revealed the same cue used also on Kennedy's Split Second (they're both Hatos-Hall, it'd make sense!)? :O
@Wheelloon - Based on the clips of the Spilt Second, this wasn't the cue. However, that cue you were talking about and the one you hear here would be used in the early episodes of the 1984-1985 season. When Todd Thicke replaced Sheldon Allman as Music Coordinator in February, 1985, the opening "bongo" segment of the Split Second cue would be used for the rest of that season. These older cues were pretty much retired for the later ones written for 1984.
I know the models were no Carol Merrill, but they were gorgeous nonetheless. I think that Chuck Chandler should have come to the US when Monty Hall revived LMAD in 1984. To me, he was, next to Jay Stewart, the best announcer LMAD had, although Brian Cummings, Dean Goss, and Dean Muchio were pretty good, and the first announcer, Wendell Niles (I wasn't even born when he announced LMAD) did oK. As for the money, the people chose the stronger US Dollar over the Canadian Dollar.
Chandler was too busy doing afternoon drive on CKNG-FM in Edmonton when the 1984 version debuted. But yeah, he was def a good announcer...looked like Jay Stewart and sounded like Brian Cummings! LOL
