    You might get it if you twist yourself painfully when you crack stuff. I only twist to a comfortable spot and that's that.

  • I can crack some knuckles, my fingers/part of the hand, knees, ankles, elbows, knees, toes (small crack) and my neck just started to be able to crack recently, and within the past week my shoulder has gained the ability to be cracked.

    So not good :(

  • ive been wondering that too! ive always been looking toward asking the doctor if it is actaully bad for you but i never really got the offical chance too. im sure the feeling is mutual with various other people, but who knows !? :D

  • basically it's just spinal adjustments on yourself. all you're doing is opening up the little pockets in your spine and releasing the built pressure of gasses and making your spinal column straight again. it's only bad for you if you twist yourself way farther than what is good for you. basically, don't twist until it hurts, that's bad. :D

  • i went to a ciropractor and i asked is cracking your bones bad for you and he said no its just gass popping out something like that. but how good does it feel like when you just wake up and your neck or back is stiff and you just pop it. its fucking sic. hahahah :P

  • i heard it isn't supposed to be bad for you unless it really hurts when you do it. i heard it's only supposed to be nitrogen bubbles that you pop which come together between your bones. i've never felt any back or neck problems once in my life. i doubt it'll harm you. :P.

  • True. I've been doing it for years, and some time ago I was able to stop doing it for 2 months or so. The thing is, that your body can get addicted to these bubbles that are being released. Especially when I get frustrated, I automatically crack my fingers, neck and back. Now, I crack my joints 10 times a day but I feel no pain whatsoever.

  • yeah, i don't think it's bad for you. i've been doing it since i was 6, and i'm 18 now. :P i've had no back problems whatsoever my whole life. if it starts to hurt when i crack though, i stop for about a week. then if it keeps hurting then i quit doing it for a while, maybe a month or so. i do it around 10 times a day too. it feels great. :D

  • The popping is a phenomena known as cavitation, when you have dissolved gas (nitrogen) in a liquid (synovial joint fluid) and you create a low-pressure environment, usually by bending a joint past its normal range of motion.

    Just like when you open a soda bottle - the low atmospheric pressure allows the CO2 to come out of solution.

  • been doin it since i was 6. just keep twisting it around like i did in the video, youd eventually be able to squeeze out like two or three soon, then just keep doing it. feels REALLY good... xD.
