  • Forrest Gump without question! :)

  • is just me or did thomas horns character come off as way too creepy

  • I would stare at michael moore right back, very very sternly. (I don't like him)

  • FORREST GUMP :D

  • I know it's overtly common, but "Forrest Gump" is Tom Hanks' best performance and my favorite Tom Hanks film.

  • thats weird, i searched your channel for it and couldn't find it

  • 2 Questions:

    1. Are pretty much most American movie premieres held in Los Angeles (or both there and NY)? For example, The Dark Knight Rises possibly?

    and

    2. What other lesser known Tom Hanks films are good besides Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, and Philadelphia?

  • I loved this movie. Mostly because i enjoyed the story of grief and dealing with it through the eyes of a kid with all his hang-ups. And Thomas Horn was brilliant in my opinion as he carried the movie for me.

  • Your new york trip sounded amazing. cept for Michael Moore.

  • @Advent3546 When did Chris say that he met Michael Moore?

  • Saving Private Ryan

  • I thought the reader was one of worse films that year.

  • @ThisguyQuake - "The Reader" is actually (in my opinion) one of the best films of 2008, and that was a great year in film.

  • Why the hell is this nominated for Best Picture!? I'm convinced Oscars don't mean shit.

  • I LOVE TEH M NIGHT SHYAMALAN SIGNS POSTER

  • Forrest gump is the best tom hanks movie!!

  • Big too

  • FAVORITE TOM HANKS MOVIE IS FORREST GUMP

  • big is AWESOME!

  • Wow, I loved this movie. I gave it a B+ on my blog.

  • man thats hard probably 1.Forrest Gump, 2 Green Mile, 3 The Terminal oh and Big

  • Green mile

  • Thomas Horn. Not a good actor.

  • Forrest Gump

  • WOW! After hearing so many reviews about how this is a tear jerker I'm so surprised! But knowing the plot of this film, I can see why you said it seems forced. Hmm....very interesting. But it is very awesome you saw Tom Hanks with your own eyes.

  • i haven't even seen forrest gump but i patically know the whole premise

  • Loved Tom Hanks In Nothing in Common. He was great with Jackie Gleason. Oh of course, Saving Private Ryan as well. That was my absolute favorite.

  • The Terminal! He carried on an incredible accent the whole way through, and that movie was not only touching, but seriously entertaining. And I can relate as a 2nd generation immigrant :) Then of course Forrest Gump...and Woody in Toy Story

  • Toy Story 3.

  • ~My favourite Tom Hanks film is a 3 way tie between Catch Me If You Can, Forrest Gump & Splash his first film in which he was hilarious~

~This film however doesnt sound too promising so I'll wait for it to hit cable~

    ~Excellent review Chris~!

  • LARRY CROWN

  • Forrest Gump, perfection

  • 2 very similar films: Big and Saving Private Ryan

  • That's an awesome review.

  • My favorite Tom Hanks movie is probably still _The 'burbs_.

  • I love him in Cast Away, that's a good performance: making you believe him all the way, all alone, all slightly crazy there on his island. He's on screen for almost every minute of that long film, and it's just a superior performance! I like that movie a lot. Of course he's fantastic in Forrest Gump, too. What a guy!

  • I like Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and many others. His best performance, however, has to be Forrest Gump...

  • That Michael Moore thing had me dying

  • . S A V I N G . P R I V A T E . R Y A N .

  • THE BURBS

  • catch me if you can

  • I know it is a common choice, but Forrest Gump.

  • CAST AWAY! "Wilson!!!!!"

  • toy story

  • Here are my Top five Tom Hanks movies and it's really hard to put them in any order because they're all great. . Philadelphia, Road to Perdition,Forest Gump, The Green Mile and Cast Away.

  • @MrJkauf What a good answer, you covered it way better than me! I'm happy to see you also see Cast Away as one of his best.

  • TOY STORY! There's a snake in my boot!

  • My Favorite Tom Hanks Movie is "BIG", He's Great In It.

  • Toy Story is my favorite.

  • @Transformersguy1000 Good man.

  • The Burbs

  • Forrest Gump, one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • cast away

  • Probably "Forest Gump"

  • Toy Story! When I think of Tom Hanks, I still think of Woody

  • Saving Private Ryan. Also my favorite Spielberg film.

  • Saving Private Ryan, also my favorite war movie.

  • Forest Gump and The Burbs are good.

  • Big

  • You Got Mail!

  • That Thing You Do is probably his most underrated one. Great review! This is exactly what I was expecting.

  • Forrest gump is not just my favorite tom hanks it my favorite movie of all time

  • The Burbs classic funny movie.

  • The Toy Story trilogy, man.

  • I'd say Castaway because all he had to play off of was a volleyball and did it wonderfully.

  • Very insightful regarding the direction. The kid was probably doing what he was told. Even on the trailer I can hear the direction "ok once more but really big this time"

  • "Forest Gump"

  • big and green mile

  • Cast Away... WILSSSOOOONNNN.

  • The Green Mile....

  • you should of shook tom hanks hand

  • Sounds like they should have called Extremely in your face and Incredibly annoying...Great review as always...Happy holidays chris.

  • Michael Moore staring at you, never forget for the rest of your life.

  • Dragnet!

  • forrest gump and philly. good review, i will wait for netflix on this one.

  • Saving Private Ryan or Toy Story :)

  • philadelphia

  • Dang it, I was really looking forward to this movie! Great review anyways, and my favorite Tom Hanks film is Forrest Gump

  • Forrest Gump and Toy Story 1-3

  • Saving Private Ryan, Big, Forest Gump, Turner and Hooch and Toy Story trilogy. Tom Hanks is AWESOME :D

  • Gah. I just don't trust movies with Sandra Bullock.

  • Have they shown an advanced screening for The Darkest Hour yet? I want to see it but...it kind of looks not-very-good.

  • The Terminal

  • Forrest Gump.

  • forrest gump but for the fun factor and a good time i would have to say BIG

  • Castaway was pretty awesome.

  • Michael Moore just wanted you to give him a cheeseburger.

  • Why Saving Private Ryan of course

  • The book this was based on is one of my favourites, it saddens me that the movie doesn't hold up :(

  • @limecottage Yes I loved the book and really hoped the movie would come close to it in quality, after seeing this review though it seems that won't be the case. The book was very emotional too but it came about in a natural sort of way, definitely not forced like it seems in the movie.

  • I really wanted this movie to be good!! :(

  • Stephen Daldry definitely maje Oscar movies. He's a freaking hack and I'm glad that this movie is being criticized. He managed to fool the audience 3 times already. The reader is absolutely garbage.

  • I love many of his movies but Forrest Gump is the winner.

  • lol we do all like Tom Hanks.

  • Catch me if you can - leonardo dicaprio, tom hanks, christopher walken, steven spielberg what more do you need

  • Not sure if I have a favorite. So many great roles it's hard to pick one.

  • Meh...

  • holyshit, just like from "Family Guy", Michael Moore is Gay!!!

  • from all the movies he made that I've seen, my favorite is Cast Away

  • The Terminal!

  • Castaway

  • Toy Story

  • See, I really hate these kind of movies considered Oscar baits. It's really unfair since the film will never get points for its artistic value and more of whether the film will cause the most tear jerk reactions. This is why The Social Network or Pulp Fiction never won Best Picture because it's whether or not films like this, The King's Speech and Forrest Gump can win the Academy's heart by just triggering a really cheap heartfelt emotion

  • forrest gump ftw! thats my boat!

  • If I were you I would of gone up to Tom Hanks after the screening and shake'd his hand. He's my favorite actor

  • @KelanDWood And my favorite movie of his is Forrest Gump

  • Hmm...performance wise, it's gotta be Forrest Gump or Philadelphia. (That is, him on screen in a role), but best character he played would definitely be Woody. :) Oh, and that's awesome that Michael Moore was staring at you...he probably didn't listen to Harrison Ford, and was freaked to see you, hehe. ;)

  • Chris says the word "incredibly" twice in this review unintentionally (and not in the title)

  • for sure saving private ryan

  • Tom Hanks is my all time favorite actor so its difficult to pick just one . But the performances of his that i really like are from Forest Gump, Castaway, Catch Me if you Can and Toy Story :P.

  • 1. Forrest Gump

    2. The toy story movies

    3. Catch me if you can

    Tom hanks rocks!

  • You were Extremely Impressed on how Incredibly Close to them you were?

  • I love Tom Hanks! He might be my favorite actor, and my favorite movie of his is Toy Story (Woody practically IS Tom Hanks physically, lol). But I don't like movies that try to force emotion (like you said, Lifetime movies).

  • Maybe Michael Moore was staring at you because he's a big fan of your reviews.

  • I was hoping this would be a good movie. Oh well. As for favorite Tom Hanks movies...I'll always have a special place in my heart for That Thing You Do & Catch Me If You Can.

  • This is your greatest review... EVER! And "The Green Mile is my favorite Tom Hanks movie. :)

  • I'm gonna say toss up between Castaway and Catch me if you can, if I think of the Wilson scene though it has to be Castaway. Only Tom Hanks could scream for a volleyball and not only keep it from being laughable but make it genuinely emotional, jmo

  • You mean it's POSSIBLE to pick a favorite Tom Hanks movie?!?

You learn something new everyday. . . .

  • Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me If You Can. Can't split those up.

  • saving private ryan

  • Oh and Road to Perdition is also an amazing film. Philadelphia is his best performance I think.

  • forrest gump, thats all i have to say

  • It's a shame u didnt like it. I was looking fwd to this, despite the cheesy trailer and what seemed to be a pretty annoying child performance, because I've really enjoyed Daldry's previous work. Billy Elliot is one of my favs of all time, and has one of the best child performances ever from Jamie Bell. So I had hopes, which u kinda killed, but then again after the trailer I kinda judged it as a rental... I also loved The Hours, and The Reader was pretty good as well.

    Fav Tom Hanks... Toy Story

  • Would you say that seeing Michael Moore stare at you was...... Extremely Awkward and Incredibly Uncomfortable?

  • That's a shame to hear you didn't like it. I might check it out since I thought the trailer was incredible and I'm a fan of some of Daldry's other work, but I won't put my expectations too high. Oh, and my favorite Tom Hanks film is Road to Perdition.

  • Road to Perdition

  • Lieutenant Dan, ice cream!

  • Besides the Toy Story stuff, it very well could be Saving Private Ryan

  • The Green Mile is hands down my favorite Tom Hanks movie.

  • Road to Perdition

  • I saw the trailer for this 3 nights ago at a screening of We Bought A Zoo (which I loved, by the way), and I could tell this was gonna be one of those movies where the performances would be better than the film itself. To be honest, The trailer made me feel that they were ripping off Hugo a little bit (because of the kid with the key), except they threw 9/11 into the mix, and then called it something else. I gotta say that Forrest Gump is my favorite Tom Hanks film.

  • @MrAVEREX Also, if it's not too much to ask (or rather, if it's not too embaressing to talk about), would you mind elaborating on your staredown with Michael Moore? I feel like there's more that hasn't been said on the ordeal, i'd even go as far as to wonder if enough happened during that staredown for a whole video on the matter.

  • He just screams at the camera? That sounds irritating haha. Thats a shame that it wasn't good, I was excited. Oh well, good review though!

  • Ok... So you say that Michael Moore stared at you "for a long time", and then you just move on? You can't just leave us hangin' like that! I want details sir! Please, i am intrigued!

  • shame...i wanted to see this film....and my favorite Hanks movie (which is very underrated imo) is The Terminal

  • getting a stare down from michael moore........that's kinda awesome.

  • The Terminal...i know that it's not as good as Forest Gump or other movies that Tom Hank's been in, but The Terminal has always been one of my favorite Hanks' movies, and one of my favorite films

  • "Lets get oscars and cry and everything" Made me LOL so hard.

Saving Private Ryan and the Toy Story series would be my favourite Tom Hanks films.

  • A fucking beautiful mind :]

  • god chris. u must be tired
