  • I'm pretty sure that any slide guitar would be in natural tuning, since you aren't limited by frets, but you decide the pitch for each note individually. And our ears tend to natural tuning, so singing in tempered or any other is much harder than in natural.

  • @WhynotMiha Thanks for your comment.

What I mean is, the guitar is tuned E, A, D, G, B, E rather than open E, (E, B, E, G#, B, E). Playing slide in natural tuning is way different than playing slide tuned to a chord.

  • Nice to meet you (・ω・)/

I am * from Japan of ♪ ..the fan of the slide guitar of Mr. Mark it.. that has been looked for all the way. これからも頑張って素晴らしいハードロックスライドギター作って欲しいです!

  • Man I love that sound. What amp/set up are you using? Thanks

  • another great jam, mark

  • did you raise the action for the slide?

  • @gromshit101

    Hello,

No, the action is pretty standard. It's not too low. It's high enough where the slide doesn't rattle and still plays pretty easy with my fingers.

  • @gromshit101 awseome man just what i wanted to hear, im buying a les paul

  • awesome Mark, what's your day gig? You must be the bastard son of Billy Gibbons

  • @spacemanGoldie

Thanks for the comment. Z.Z. Top's first three albums were big influences for me.

I'm a PGA member (golf professional) by day. I play out (music) about once or twice a month these days. I was a professional musician for many years. I retired from my band back in 2004.

  • @spacemanGoldie thanks for the response Mark, I met Vince Gill once and he is pro golf standard (apparently) you have totally nailed Billy's tone and style - he was a big influence on me too in my teenage years. Interesting that you don't appear to damp the non participating strings but they still don't sound over your playing. Keep up the good work - any chance of sowing us the slide solo in Just Got Paid?

  • @spacemanGoldie

Vince is an old friend of mine. He is a fine guitar player and a top notch golf nut.

I damp the strings with the fingers on my right hand while I pick the note with my thumb, index or second finger. Check out my Duane Allman Slide Guitar lesson when you have time. I explain the damping technique.

    Thanks again for your comments.

I'll work up that "Just Got Paid" solo again (after thirty some years) and post it when I find some time.

  • Awsome playing, terrific setting and great groove. You really have te reconsider your retirement of professionalism guitarplaying instead of beeing a golfplayer.
