I went to see Kev on this tour and it was ok,his voice has gone and he can't sing like he used to so don't expect the old dexys stuff as it was 30 years ago as he has tweaked it all to suit his voice today not 30 years ago.at least he was singing live I suppose.the other fella singing was a bit annoying and he sometimes slipped into a fake American accent but Kev did his best and it was ok but I don't think I would go again.
Yes very slow... but can you remember when you first heard the original???...and you wished you could slow it down to figure out the words??? No probs here eh? Brilliant song and amazing version!!!
True Kev does like to mix it up constantly,- compare SFTYSR to To Rye Aye..completely different sound. U can take or leave this new vocal style, but the band still swings..tight. Kev has nothing to prove anyway, his genius status is assured.
OMG wtf happened ???!! This can't be Dexy's they sound like a really bad wedding band fronted by a couple of used car salesmen !! Woeful - if this is what age does to you please, I want to die young !!
On 17 July 2010 there will be a gathering in Birmingham to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of 'Searching for the young soul rebels'.
Original band members will be present as will friends and associates of that time, live music, images and spoken word are all planned to make this event extra special and a fitting celebration of arguably one of the greatest debut album's of all time.
who's the guy in the striped suit???!!! what was that, what was that, what was that you say.....he's the best, that's all....look, the guy in the striped suit is....the guy in the striped suit. top bloke, brave fella, truly a good fella, seven years too long maaan......best wishes

God, what happenened? Where did all that crisp sounds go.
Acording to wiki the only other guy other that Kevin from the original band is the basist Pete Williams whois the other vocalist.

Great tune. Great band. The singer used to sing in another great band, the Killjoys.

Totally agree with you! There's no real passion in todays music, which Kev and Dexys had!!!!

Too slow. How you gonna dance to that with a bellyfull o dexys? Seriously though what song to start the 80s with. Kinell. Top that.

It's not Big Jimmy Paterson on trombone. Absolutely tragic. Kevin's voice has gone. Seems to lack any confidence.

Is that Big Jim Paterson on trombone?
