However, the U.K and Russia would not have been able to beat the Nazi's without America's help.

Despite what you say, JohnPaulParks is correct. Her role is largely ceremonial. Indeed the royal assent has no real meaning except that it is a tradition. However, I believe a monarchistic style of ruler would work better than what we have right now.

i tell you waht if the queen decided to oust the labour party then she would get a dam huge amount of support lol and you say its largly ceramonial and its only becise it has not been used for so long its always there as a royal perogative in balance with our constitution, and i belive the way of the consitutional government is the best as it is a blance of power

Well, you say that, but where is the balance of power? If the party in power in the House of Commons want a law put through, then it will be put through. The House of Lords and the Crown have no say at all. Except to hold up the passing of a law.
I don't mean a monarchy as in an absolute monarchy. I mean as the previous kings and queens of Great Britain. With the Lords and Ministers still in powerful positions, but with final say to the Crown.

lords and the crown can delay bills and it can set it back many years but the ultimate power of the crown is that via the royal perogative so long as it does not breach the constitution and is for the good of the people can sya no to a bill but will need proof of why it is wrong also rquired it backing from the lords and at times people but its allways there as an option the fact is we have not had to use it as no laws have been aginst us realy i would like to see the queen take more of a role
