  • The main part of the riff is a hammer on from the open A string to the 9th fret, followed by a hammer on from the open A to the 7th fret.

If you punch in "Dave Taylor Last Time" into youtube, you can see me playing this lick correctly on my new Tele.

    Thanks Al

  • very nice tone

  • I think your guitar is ...2 octave too low

  • It was good but it kindy sounded out of tune

  • I REALLY want to know how to do the solo! can someone send a link to a tab or help?

  • Brian actually played the riff higher up the fretboard, and phrased it differently. I learned it the day it was released...

    4/7 sl 4/9 3/7 4/9 3/9

    4/0 h 4/9 5/0 4/7 3/6

(sl means slide from the first note to the second, and h is hammer-on)

Try it, then listen to the original!

    Chords are E - D - A

  • Thanks. Got the tab I'm playing out of a book. I watched old video with Brian Jones and your tab is the one he is playing.

  • You're welcome! Thanks for helping to keep the good stuff alive!

  • @Owdfolkie - FIRST LINE SOUNDS RIGHT. SECOND ONE SEEMS WAY OFF. SOUNDS MORE LIKE 4/7 H 4/9 3/7 3/7 3/6 TRY IT - YOU'LL LIKE IT!

  • Less phasing but nice one.

  • Well done my friend, I hope I can play that song one day....

  • very good.

  • You've got it down my friend.

  • Well done!!

  • Perfect, love it!

  • Outstanding job !!!

  • Could you tell me the chords.

Do you start with Am 7 ?

Nice play; in addition with Keith's Les Paul in One Plus One movie (Sympathy for the devil, making of)

  • Thanks for the effort - but honestly this is not the way Brian Jones played it (although your version is what all online tabs seem to teach). Take a look at the Stones live vids around here and you will see that he plays the riff up around the 7th to 9th fret with slurs, hammer-ons and open strings. The technical genius of this riff is probably only matched by John Lennon's "I Feel Fine".

  • I love the way your guitar sounds in this song buddy, keep up the good work!

  • very good indeed(:

  • very good song

  • Well buddy, your playing is very good!I think you should turn on the volume of your amp a bit more.(Especially in your other videos with electric guitar).By the way, what amp do you use?

  • Thanks. I've had sound level problems when recording; I'm planning to get a proper USB mic soon, which should help with the sound quality and level balance.

  • not as easy to play this song as 1 would think.

  • A nice way to show the chords. thanks.

  • Help

  • nice 1...anyway you could tab that verse riff out for me? would be eternally grateful!

  • AWSOME!
