I have to admit, in the early 60's, he might not have had the best singing voice. But wow did it improve! He had an amazing singing voice. Extremely soothing
Wow, this song takes me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. George Harrison one of the great artists of our time and we both share the same birthday! February 24th!!!
"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
LornamcBride, you are right. George wrote this for and about this great soul poet/composer Smokey Robinson. George was always influenced by African-American masters, and this track shows the sensitivity, beauty, and sophistication of George's tipping the hat to those who first lit the flame in the first place. Sweet guitar solo, too. Wish Benson and Harrison played an album, with Smokey on vocals.
@Rickenbacker4001C64 no true entirely. George first had a bran tumor and also had lung cancer from smoking- he said so himself in interviews and in s0ngs like "Lead a Horse to Water" where he says his own stuborness to not quit smoking was a factor in his cause of death
All this hippie music give you a real life force , it wakes you up . Thats what happend to me just while ago . Sunny music never dies . Budha bless ! Bliss
I love this song, and I don't know if you know a brazillian singer called Lulu Santos, he have a song called Jezebel, I think, that it's so similar to this one.
Appropiate- Harrison smoked himself to death!

@4FabBEATLES sounds like you don't like this music?

@wjrkman I do like George's music. I'm simply stating the facts of how he died in George's own words. It's not my opinion, it was his.

@Rickenbacker4001C64 Does it give you a superior feeling calling someone an idiot because he or she might be mistaken about something?
