The card is because he took away a clear scoring opportunity from a guy who was behind the last defender. That's an automatic red, regardless of intent.

I'm not one to side with referees, but there's just no getting around it...that's a straight red.

there's always comments about how MLS games don't have good attendance. This game looks well attended and the better news is KC will have their own stadium by 2011. Eventually every team except a few (DC, Houston) will have their own stadium which is a plus for the league.
