This is one of the only Undercover songs I liked. A lot of the bands turned the original songs into droning, tuneless affairs but Claudio put a lot of effort into it and really made it his own.

I think for every song there should be two versions. The original version and then the Coheed version. And when we divide songs into genres, it would start with that. For example, the song Gin & Juice would be like this:

It's also important to note that the linear tonality and English accent in this, and many other Smiths songs, are intentional on Morrissey's part - and vital.

This is one of the only Undercover songs I liked. A lot of the bands turned the original songs into droning, tuneless affairs but Claudio put a lot of effort into it and really made it his own.

@godlesswickedvanian hey troll master, relax. they probably had little time to work out their cover before performing the video (claudio himself said in the video that he wasn't very familiar with it). i think this is a great and powerful cover, and i hate it when bands "cover" songs exactly as they were originally performed. a great cover should be fantastic alongside the original (think jeff buckley's version of "hallelujah vs. leonard cohen's). i doubt youre as pissed as you sound, but relax.

I think for every song there should be two versions. The original version and then the Coheed version. And when we divide songs into genres, it would start with that. For example, the song Gin & Juice would be like this:
Gin & Juice>Original>Rap>Gangsta Rap or Gin & Juice>Coheed>Badass

@osostewie2 If having a top notch voice was the sole demand of an artist then the X Factor and American Idol wouldn't be the shames they are. Besides, I find Clauido's voice appeasing, but hardly that resonant or powerful. The Smiths version is infinitely better, to me, for sounding like it is being sung by a spectre in an old music room. It's also important to note that the linear tonality and English accent in this, and many other Smiths songs, are intentional on Morrissey's part - and vital.

@owenhunt I agree with you, Claudio is better off doing Coheed and Cambria whereas the smiths should stick to smiths songs but listen to live coheed stuff and you will see his voice is very powerful. This is just a cover of a relatevely mellow song (compared to most coheed songs.)

I like this version a lot, and I respect The Smiths for writing the song, I just don't like how oddly uppity the song. I really like how Claudio makes the song into his own things instead of doing the exact same things For example I love how he says , "Your still just a young, Homie." I like that better then "Phone me" it just feels random in the original song.
