  • If I have to hear about "Julie" on more time I swear I am going to start sending the Volusion people hate mail....

  • I've had this and Karma Chameleon stuck in my head all day. :] Much love for older music.

  • This Mr Mister drummer, mister Mastelotto, has made records with the mighty KING CRIMSON, where he shows what he can do to a set of drums, instead of this boring robot beat.

  • I like his clean cut swag.

  • I love this song so much!

  • Go Tebow!

  • Take These Broken Wings and this. Two great hits. :)

  • It takes talent to sing lead and play bass.

  • though Richard Page has a background in the church and some of his solo music has that spiritual tone, that doesn't mean that he's trying to force it on his audience. in a song as this one the focus isn't always on the audience, if you get bent out of a shape over a song that is a reflection of the band's or singer's beliefs then don't listen to the song, and don't criticize the work of them because it doesn't fit with you, find something else to listen to.

  • YES . . . D*mn Good Song. Whoo.

    The Video needs work.

  • Even though he doesn't pronounces the phrase "Κύριε ελέησον" like how we would in Greece, it still sounds very good!

  • The guitarist has one of the worst mullets in the history of music

  • Hey soul sister ain't that Mr. Mister on the video?

  • Am I the only one that actually started clapping at 2:28?

  • Religious Rock 'n Roll

Kyrie Eleison, which means "Lord, have mercy"

  • @MMAguitaristUF yeah because I don't live in a town where I didn't witness three teenagers steal a "free coffee" sign from a gas station the other night. Face it kiddo, stereotypes are not right 100% of the time, but they are based on observation and reality. They aren't just ideas thrown out of nowhere.

@PhilliesBaseballPhan Glad to see someone has evolved past force fed Lady Gaga and crappy vampire TV shows and movies. Hope for the future!

  • Thank you for posting this!! I love this song when I was a teenager in the 80s!! ♥ Also thank you for posting the lyrics.

  • Kyrie Eleison (Greek for "Lord have mercy"; the Latin transliteration supposes a pronunciation as in Modern Greek) is a very old, even pre-Christian, expression used constantly in all Christian liturgies. Arrian quotes it in the second century: "Invoking God we say Kyrie Eleison"

  • The only thing sillier than their lyrics is their hair.

  • Kyrie Eleison to this poor and gross 8 people...

  • Super!!!Great song!!!Great band!!!

  • When I hear this song I fall in love but I don't know with who... This song makes me happy...

  • Kyrie Eleison; Lord have mercy.

  • Awlways thought they said "Give me 8 days". Now I know.

  • Miami vice

  • Such a simple bassline, but CLASSIC. They just don't make music like this anymore. Fucking kids and their pathetic attention spans. They just can't appreciate this stuff.

  • @cholizo, I'm 16 yrs old and I love this music!!! Some kids appreciate this stuff others like these rappers that make no sense.

  • @PhilliesBaseballPhan if u love AOR musIC like this check WORK OF ART THE GREAT FALL

  • @cholizo Fucking old people and their teenage stereotypes. They just are so naive.

  • @cholizo im a kid and i think this is the best kind of music out there.

  • @cholizo Uhh I'm a teen girl and I LOVE this stuff. Have hope for the new generations!

  • @cholizo I'm 13 and I agree that music sucks these days, I'll take Mr. Mister, The Police, Rick Astley, and Huey Lewis and the News over Ke$ha, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry any day.

  • @LongArmProductions You're awesome hahaha i agree with you and I'm 19

  • Comment removed

  • @LongArmProductions

You know this gets old really fast, do you want an award or something? What is the point of declaring your age? I see this in every related video.

  • Not all Christians suck cox.

  • not all christian rock sux!

Mister mister is the top christian rock band in the 80's!

  • @hospitalbedpan1 They are not a Christian rock band if read up on the background of this song. they did not want to do this song at first because of the religious undertones, but decided to do so, because it worked well......just so you know!

  • Every time I heard Soul Sister by Train, I remembered this song, then Broken Wings, then Is It Love. I was always waiting for a radio DJ to have the sense of humor to play a Mr. Mister song right after Soul Sister.

  • nice limmo.Isn,t he a good singer?

  • rideing the roads with your to be.remmber being a teenager.oh remmber we lost the gas tank.We lifted into the car used the line tubeing ,as I held it to get home.Pretty bad those times.

  • rideing the roads with your to be.remmber being a teenager.

  • I've watched this ten times in a row but never noticed the drummer lose his sticks 3:27

  • @daylightdisk He throws it. It's either broken or he doesn't need it anymore... :)

  • i superlike this video,,,where are thse people now?the vocalist has a powerful voice.

  • @jayheard4 Hi, there! A week ago I had the pleasure of hearing this song played live in Oslo. Richard Page, the vocalist in Mr. Mister, who's now a solo artist, appeared with Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band on the Norwegian Wood Festival. Richard also released a new album last year! ;) This really brings me back to my childhood 80's!

  • hi thanks for the reply,so u mean that he is livin now in europe?he is american,am i right? yes me too when i heared this song its brings back my childhood memories..

  • @jayheard4 Hi again! Mr. Page is indeed American, born in Iowa, and as far as I can gather from the information on the internet, he is now reciding in Malibu, California. But for the time being he is touring Europe with Ringo Starr, Rick Derringer, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Wally Palmer and Gregg Bissonette in Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band! Right now they are probably cooling off after their concert in Birmingham, England, earlier tonight! ;)

  • This is one of my all time favorites. Brings me back to junior high. This is one of the few songs I've heard in my life where I instantly was drawn to it.

  • Wait?!? Is someone trying to say that Hebrews invented song because of the way the Tora is read? That's not song, that's an encantation. And I hardly think that voicing your opinion on youtube (semite or anti-semite) is a progressive means of sharing your soul with the world. It's actually the antithesis of it. I curse any human that does so, May the fleas of a thousand stray dogs infest your genitals.

  • Not too many bands that are iconic to the 80's like Mr. Mister.

  • more

  • i looooove this!!!!!!!

  • @musicplaya4111 i love this too!!!!!!!!! :D x]

  • Mr.Mister..: Pisco is Peruvian..!!!

  • And by the way, those calling themselves "jews" today don´t speak Hebrew, they speak Yidish. Let´s not forget that fake jews (people converted to judaism) killed Jesus. Many became as "jews" (as in traditions, Matthew 15:3, Mark 7:8, 7:13) because they where afraid of them Esther 8:17, 1 Corinthians 9:20. The Preachers got lazy and the books where handle by fake jews (bad figs Jeremiah 24) that is why they killed Jesus (John 7:1, Acts 9:23), because He was denouncing them (John 8:44)

  • this was one of my early childhood songs... i love this song, could never forget it. i have been looking for this song for forever, i couldn't find who made it or who made it because i lost the cd it was on. im thrilled to finally find it.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

I'm so glad for you! I know what it's like to love a song that you never forget and search for...

  • 8 people have no Mercy

  • wen i hear this song i see myself dwarfed, alone, and walking down a road with all of lifes big problems towering over me with a sad face, a face wondering if im gonna make it and stoping and taking a slow look back and going forward and keep walking with my backpack. my life story.

    san jose,ca

  • @maineysanjose it will all be same in the end me old mate so dont worry

  • I totally agree. I Used to LIKE this song - NOW I LOVE it...

  • The harmony in ths song is amazing! Still like the song after 20 years! Wish there were more like it!

  • @Ursa3470 hilarious!! for those of us that do not the meaning

Kýrie, eléison is greek for lord have mercy! :)

  • @willronin

Kyrie Eleison is not greek, but old latin.

It does mean Lord, be mercyfull, but more in a caring way.

  • @sqlRon thanks for the correction! learn something new, I had heard it in Greek orthodox Catholic ceremonies, so I had assumed it to be Greek

  • @sqlRon Um, Kyrie Eleison is Greek. I read, write and speak Latin. Kyrie is the vocative case of Kyrios, which is Greek for "Lord". Eleison is an imperative from eleao, which is greek for "to show mercy". The Latin equivalent for this would be "Domine miserere", with the vocative of "Dominus" and the imperative of the verb "misereor".

As Catholics, we keep this in the Mass, as it's been there for millennia, since the time when the Mass was universally in Greek, back in the 2nd century.

  • @willronin actually just kyrie means mister BOOM awesomeness

  • @willronin WX MILAEI ELLHNIKA LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL XD

  • @Ursa3470 i agree with you. they should make song just like this.

  • It's a really powerful 80's Ballad!!!!!!

  • The title literally means Lord have mercy in Greek . i am an Athenian born Greek. I remember hearing this song for the first time on the radio. I called the radio station after the DJ wondered what the title meant. I told him, in fact he put me on the air to tell his listeners I was 18 years young when this was a hit. Two hit songs, this and Broken wings, and gone. :(

  • love this song so much <3

  • AOR RULES...

  • Well, I still like the song, but it's not quite the same to me now I know what that means, if it is indeed true.

  • To whomever posted this video,

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

This is what was great about the 80's, it was uplifting, happy and positive. I don't think that I can even think of any songs today that have any of those qualities.

    KEEP POSTING !!!!!!

  • @Michiganbaker65 If you want uplifting, happy and positive music you'll probably have to start learning Korean.

  • haha, on the rocks did this song nd it was great the original is awesome too

    haha, Mr.Mister was awesome

  • The HAIR!!!! I love the hair! Was there a better decade for hair? I think NOT!

  • @stelllabloo My opinion on mullets: Either grow your hair long or cut it short. Dont do both.Id rather have my hair just halfway below the top of my ears and not to long in the back of my neck. Of course ive always wanted to grow long hair and a long beard just once to see what it would be like

  • @stelllabloo unless if you were bald...

  • 6 people are retarded

  • Awesome! Makes me remember the good old days! Lots of nice summer pleasures came to mind. . .

Could no sit still in the chair! Could you?

  • ON THE ROCKS!!!

  • THE HAIR!!!!! $*@%

Also, the guitarist with the worst hair in the band, besides the drummer, looks like Trey Parker, creator of South Park

  • I really love this song!!

  • it seams 6 people dont know what is true music piece !!!

  • "Somewhere between the soul and soft machine..."

  • Cool how the drummers drumstick does a swedish chef thing near the very end :p

  • Mr MIster just released a new album on their site LittleDumeRecordings

  • Amen!

  • Did any of us realize back in the '80s that we were actually sending a Christian Rock song into Billboard orbit? This was seriously one of the most popular songs of the 80s. Just like in the 2000s with Switchfoot's Dare You To Move, which also is essentially Xtian Rock.

  • @reflectsonlife It would be better if more Christian acts were a little more subtle in their expression. Not everybody likes to be bashed in the ears with a religious message. However, the CCM industry has their own form of political correctness, which is why Jessica Simpson didn't debut in that genre (she's a little too buxom for their tastes) and most of the stuff I've heard has been completely unbearable, Switchfoot being an exception.

  • timeless tune!!!

  • I am Jewish, but I never really believed in God. That doesn't mean that this song doesn't have wonderful personal meaning to me; it does. This is a truly beautiful song and I think that if there is a God, He is merciful and will always be with you on the roads you must travel and in the darkness of the night. I also plan to name my daughter Kyrie.

  • @gauntlet3gal I always thought he was saying "carrying a Laser".I thought that this might have been a science fiction song.Know i know different.

  • @gauntlet3gal

Hi, I read your comment. Yes, it's a truly beautiful song. I'd say, be proud you're Jewish - if it wasn't for the Jews, we wouldn't be singing about the Lord in Greek! lol

The Jews taught the world that God is merciful, a judge, and a Father to us all. Also I agree that a lovely name for a little girl is Kyrie!

  • @Mollgreen wrong, the word Jew describes people from ONE of the tribes of Israel (Judah). Just because you convert to judaism and call yourself a "jew" does not make you a "Jew". (Rev. 2:9 and 3:9). The jews did not teach the world anything. You can´t give the jews of today the credit for what the real Jews from Judah did (if they did much)in the past. The Apostles took care of the teachings because Jesus Christ taught it. And people like William Tyndale made possible the King James Bible.

  • @Mollgreen Wrong, the Hebrew ppl have sang about the Lord long before the Greek lol It's funny when ppl who have no idea what are they talking about try to be smart. Hebrew's God was far from being merciful, it was a revengeful god. And Kyrie Eleison is sang in Greek and in the other the laguages of the nations because of a converted Hebrew, Paul (Saul). You've learned the things in the opposite order lol Anyway, for the Greek Church, this song is a blasphemy. Speaking His Name in vain.

  • @missmysterystar @missmysterystar

Yes, the Hebrew people sang about the Lord WAY long before the Greeks - that's why we have to thank the Jews that we are singing about the Lord in Greek ! Do you get it - the Jews knew the Lord first and passed it along (via Jesus the Jew) to the Greeks (via Paul the Greek-speaking Jew) and then to us...

  • @Mollgreen Paul (Saul) Wasn't greek, but hebrew. Jews never agreed to read the Bible in a different language than hebrew. They got to a point when no one understood the Tora, but they kept reading it. The real decision was made by God Himself, when He sent the Holy Spirit above the apostles, giving them the power to speak the languages of the nations, as stated in the Acts of the apostles.

  • I thought this band would of been around longer.

  • temazo

  • temazo

  • It's songs like this which make me so glad I was born in 1979 and got to enjoy all of the awesome 80s!!!

  • I think he was the American version of Sting with a lot less hits.

  • between me and my beloved.......this is eerie surreal and woah......respect causing

forgive me for falling to the Lions in America....TIME TO FIND MYSELF AGAIN!!!! ohh yes leads to WHITE SNAKE!!!! IS THIS LOVE????? I have fallen from my chosen road.........AND I GOT TO SEE WHO I WISHED TO SEE.........MY BELOVED CHRIST JESUS!!!!

  • Incredible music. One of many songs that could be considered an "ANTHEM SONG" of that awesome 1980's decade. Its cool to see a pop single with heavy spiritual/Christian theme be respected as it is. Really cool.

  • This song is roughly twice my age.

  • The invocation "Kyrie Eleison" which means "Lord have mercy" is Greek as it has been already said and is referred very often in all the ceremonies of the Orthodox Religion.

  • me encantaaabaaaaaaaaaa mil gracias!

  • Awesome song. They just dont make songs like this anymore. Music needs to get back to these epic rockin songs, back to some good roots.

  • This song is excellent as is the entire album it's from. "Welcome to the Real World" is a great listen all the way through. Still have my original cassette tape of this also, 80's sure are missed.
