Why does someone think the "anti"-intellectual philosophy is retarded? It's not retarded, it's ignorant, Schopenhauer wanted non-academic intellectualism, intellectualism content with what you wear and have, not evil intellectualism etc. He's not banishing intellectualism, he's banishing school, he wants wise intelligence, not no intelligence.
Schopenhauer's philosophy is similar like that of Buddha, a deeply doctrine of redemption. He starts initially from a pessimistic world view, and ends with the prospect to be redeemed from a world of sorrow. For the most people Schopenhauer was only a pessimistic old man, because they do not understand him.

I choose to leap between extremes: ascetic, pleasure, optimism, pessimism, but religious? No extreme there: religious, agnostic. I can be inspired to paint a picture of my world: it could be that virtual reality has gone horribly wrong, of all the spirituality I have done and foods I ate, I'm inside a black cloud of people hating me, animosity merely removed in my dreams. Spiritual rock music, and a home by myself to have peace, yet the trap of attempted robbery & resistance pervade.
What is widely regarded as "pessmism" is often in fact realism that delusional human beings don't like due to their systematic (and scientifically confirmed) optimism bias.
Optimism is as irrational as pessmism yet people are proud to call themselves so.
I have been reading The Fourfold root of the Principle of sufficient reason and it has helped me to better understand The World as Will and Representation so I highly recommenf this short masterpiece to everyone interested in Schopenhauer
most dont desire enlightenment . they go with the flow of least resistance. so they get there doug E on instead of there philosophy on. its unfortunate that videos like these are not viewed more often they are benificial and a great tool to reach salvation within ourselves.
YOu have said it better than I could. We have to believe in ourself. We are sure realist and not some people thinking that the world is a better place. No point to deceive oneself
@jeromeeusebius I am particulary fond of Voltaire´s opinion on the problem, he thought that we should not deceive ourselves by thinking this is the best of all possible worlds, but rather come to terms with the possibility that this world might not be so flattering, and try to turn all the apparent chaos and pointlessness of Existence to our advantage by learning about our possibilities.
I was drawn to this by a comment you left on a Genocyber video. Very cool concept for your videos you upload. You read well, and I am fond of Schopenhauer. Thank you for providing this to the community.
@SinisterAppleJuice Yeah, it's really depressing that this video only have 3.000 views while a video by Fred gets over millions of views. I've lost all faith in the human race.
@SinisterAppleJuice Smart video? What is that? Isn't this primarily an audio, full of views both personal and universal, critiqueing pessimisim? peace

Good man, Schopenhauer. He taught the arts and music, doing something constructive. Not to mention he was a rational philosopher.
