  • Wow... I'm covered in goose bumps right now... I've played piano since I was 6 years old, and I don't think I could master this even if I had the sheet music... She truly does play from the heart. I honestly think I'm gonna cry from how amazed I am, and to see such a young girl have a love for music this strong... She's utterly blessed.

  • wow!

  • This girl's touch on the piano creates such beautiful melody..simply admirable~

  • the people who dislikes this video are crazy pervents. this girl is probably gonna spend her life as a awesome pianist and she needs all the support she can get. THUMBS UP TO SUPPORT HER.

  • The ebb and flow, her dynamics, are beyond most adults. I want to cry every other time I hear one of her songs.

  • @petertrast Couldn't agree more..

  • Did she compose this herself or did she just dictate it from the o

  • @SuperTendril Emily has composed this, age 7

  • This performance just took my breath away. You are so talented.

  • lol ... is very easy , play bach and compos ... leattle girl

  • jelous :( shes amazing

  • wow!!!!! shes only six!!!

  • im playing 11 years piano now, and i cant do that!

    emily you amazing!

  • amazing that a 7year old can create something like this! or not amazing, natural?

  • I see the music passing through her fingers! And this is a REAL music!

  • ummm, ive been playing piano for 7 years and im no where NEAR this good......... soooooo jealous right now

  • Emily....Is a nice girl that just loves to play on the piano... She wants to be a composer when she grows up..And nothing else...She started plng when she was like 1 or 2 years old...with 3 fingers...And it was AMAZING.

  • this is THE MOST beautiful piece i have ever heard. its so peaceful yet cheerful. ASOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! i sheded one tear watching this. amazing!

  • absolutely beautiful.. as one who always desired to play piano. I think this little girl does a fabulous job.and you can tell she loves what she does. Bravo Emily.. Bravo..

  • the ability to interpret something visually beautiful into something musically beautiful and somehow make it feel absolutely right is something i will never understand. this blows my mind

  • @LiviLaughLuv Emily has the rarest of gifts to be able to express a concept musically..... Another piece she wrote at 6 yrs of age "SNOWDANCE" paints a similar picture....

  • @stampman50 Emily is rare but composers have been "interpreting something visually beautiful into something musically beautiful" for hundreds of years. It is nothing new. What's amazing is that she was able to do it at such a young age.

  • How?

  • Again, I am mesmerized by Emily. Such compassion, love and devotion to her playing. She's going to go far. Thank you Emily.

  • @Adeptmind: I think you do this young lass a disservice! You might as well say Mozart wrote great film music. 8-} Film scores are brief, simplistic, feel-good pieces. This is something else entirely. I recommend listening to it while watching a time-lapse of the Aurora Borealis, with the lights off...

  • thank you so much for this composition Emily..

  • This touches my soul. Emotion like this is so rare its mesmerizing to me.

  • I love how she moves her hands so up after playing a note with her right hand!!! She is very talented and will be very famous!!!

  • I hate piano music but this made me change my mind! so beautiful!

  • Wish there was a LOVE button! utterly breathless

  • WOW! i cant say anything else but wow. This girl is amazing

  • If the Northern Lights had a sound, this would be it.

  • she is amazing

  • WHO would dislike this?

  • @sadiembm jealous people.

  • Love the way she can hush a crowd..

Her and Jackie Evancho should do a concert...

  • This took my breath away.

This is one little girl thats going to go far. :D

  • U know what, she will be a figure for our genration. I am 13 and i play piano bby ear since i was 8. She started when she was 2. This is incredbile. She composes her own music. I wish i could do that. Good Job Emily Bear. - Kermit Burchell Mithcell the 3rd.

  • You can see the music flow out of her effortless...it is beautiful to see a child feel music like that!

  • im need ducct tape to keep my jaw up cuz it just dropped to the ground....

    SHE IS SOOOOOOOO GREAT!!!!

  • i llike her music quite a bit for a child very talented emily keep doing your best at what you do -josiah

  • It's so funny how she has to have a little stool to be able to reach the peadls!!!! But she has an amazing talent!!!

  • Pure Joy.

  • truely inspiring. If you need the pedals to be raised cause your feet cant reach them, and yet play that well, nothing can go wrong.

  • She plays so emotionally. 1:44 i like most.(:

  • @SophlEssl Me, too. Especially to play. :D

  • All I can say is one word... AMAZING... the movement of her fingers are so magical.. its like they're flying!!!! Emily Bear's fingers are magical. I don't know what else to say.

  • Emily is quite mind-blowing. I'll bet she'd appreciate the work of Conlon Nancarrow, who came to design his compositions to be played too fast for human hands, at which point he began using player piano. Maybe Emily could play them, though. She could certainly come as close as (if not closer than) anyone else. In any case, the only thing more incredible than her ability to play is her ability to create original songs. WOW.

  • @laustcawz

Just because you are a talented composer, doesn't mean you are talented mechanically. Dexterity and creativity aren't the same thing you know.

  • Heavenly....

  • I can't wait till she becomes older and starts making really complex epic songs like mozart

  • she really paints a picture of the northern lights = beautiful, amazing just like her compostition! i wish i was her !

  • she's really good...i love the way she plays..it makes sence what she plays

  • @kakiaxD

  • this is so beautiful...

  • pretty much the best piano player i have ever seen.

  • @deadbeatprodux

Seen possibly...heard...uuuu no. Frederic' Chopin blows her away. Do not mention her age either....no excuse is deemed necessary.

  • She is amazing. A little musician magician. I love playing this piece and even though I make no mistakes when I play, I still can't get it to have the same affect.

  • shock! i wish i could be as good as her

  • (♥♥,) ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♥ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♥ :) thank you Emily!!!! ♥ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫

  • My favourite bit of this composition is at 2:29 when you see the theme from the beginning repeated everso gently at the end. LOVE this.

  • I wish to play like her one day, but I think that's almost impossible! she's amazing!

  • she makes me cry by her pure heart...

  • I am very fortunate to be performing in NYC with this talented little girl in early December.

  • kittyxtales - AGREED!

  • The force is strong with this one.

  • Comment removed

  • I heard some of things she can do... I'm glad her grandmother relly got her going.

    She is amazing

  • I have been playing piano longer than she has been born and she is totally brilliant, If I ever get to be as good as her I will be a very happy person :)

  • Waiting for her first Opera......

  • I would not want to be in the same school talent show as her.

  • The BEST ticket ever would be to see Emily in a "play-date" with Jackie Evancho and Brianna Kahane. That would be a trio truly made by the gods of music.

  • if the dead could smile and fight, Mozart and Bach and Beethoven would beam and be having a fight to see who could equal her

  • if the dead could smile, Mozart and Bach and Beethoven would be having a fight to see who could equal her

  • A real talent: Wonderfull character with amezing skills. I hope she will be like that when she grow up. A real phenomenon

  • Her music is clear and deeply good. Amezing character with incredible skiils. A real talent. I hope she will be like when she grow up.

  • oh my god... this is so... ... im speechless =)

  • why do people think mozart is so amazing.

beethoven and chopin have so much more of everything good in their music.

And stop comparing her to mozart. Her music is totally different.

And she is young . You can't expect someone so young to create very tough pieces. She has a whole life ahead

  • Fantastic! Amazing talent. Just amazing.

  • I cann't believe it! She's sooooooooo amazing!

  • she really paints the picture of a northern light!

  • yes she does!

i bet she must compose more..:))

  • man no words to say that was just plain amazing

  • wow...just plain wow. no other comment

  • DUDE! i can hear the Northern Lights!

  • Best Emily Bear song I have heard so far. Absolutely breathtaking. When you listen to music, you have to understand it took talent, interpretation, and style to perform that music, even if it wasn't composed by the player to get the 'sound' you heard. I have only heard "Northern Lights" 3 times before now...so maybe I am not the best judge of a good performance, but this just blew me away...even with my eyes closed. (Yep...I listened with my eyes closed to dampen the 'prodigy' effect)

  • omg thats amazing. she has only been playing for like 2 years almost now. incredible.

  • Que Dios la siga bendiciendo y la protega y le de una vida laaaaaarga y feliz.

  • This is beyond amazing!

  • how can any1 click on dislike??? r u jealous or wat??? Emily is PERFECT n this is d case where u can use that word!!! Im sure that one day your wish will come true and youll become one of the best composers and like 120 years ago your name will be as famous as Mozart's or List's (well if it's not today :D)

  • @ilovelotom1 well apparently lisZt's name isn't that famous if you don't know how to spell it haha jk :)

  • This is only really amazing when you consider she's 7. I'm sure she'll grow up to be an amazing composer, but I don't think she is one yet.

  • @sausagedogmcgee

I don't understand how you could listen to this piece of music and not consider it an amazing composition. Age irrespective, if I heard anyone play "Northern Lights" I could consider it a deeply beautiful and moving piece.

  • @sausagedogmcgee not really. Most people that want to compose like that cannot do so without formal education. And she seems to be incredibly talented since she has actually composed 350 pieces at age 8. Any composer with such skill (composing without reference to rules but only his raw talent) is marvellous irregardless of age...

  • Emily, I just watched your Ellen videos. You not only have an amazing talent with your music but you have an amazing and very generous soul. With children like you maybe there is some hope for this bad old world after all! You make me smile, really big! Love to you sweetie!

  • she is spectacular!

  • wow, i am 12 yrs old, i play piano and sing, i have been playing since i was a baby, no matter how hard i try, im not as good as her...that girl has talent!

  • If it were in my budget, I'd be willing to pay good money to hear her play live!!!

  • Beautiful-music from Emily. Rejuvenating, hearing it seems to have brought me closer to childhood once again.

  • This song really touched me, it's hard to find the right words to say when commenting on this video

  • She's an ANGEL!!! The evolution of consciousness through beauty, harmony and happiness.. I hope that the infinite potential of hers would grow in her uniqueness, in it's eternal splendor and delight. And mankind will witness again the perfectibility of our innate potentials. She is truly wonderful!!

  • so cool >33 she is great xD

  • It's like each note touches a different part inside her...

  • my sister tried to teach me this duet thing on our piano.... my mom links this video on facebook.... now i feel even worse about what little talent i dont have. this little girl is amazing

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can she bless someone? Wow "Daughter of Piano" . Hi!!

  • I think its so cute how the pedals have to be raised for her :) this peice is actually quite easy to play...

  • @RachandBrit2009 - You think it's easy to play? Okay, if you say so. Just try composing it, though -- at age SIX. That's a harder call. The song really evokes the northern lights and is incredibly sensitive and insightful for anyone, especially a child in FIRST GRADE.

Mozart wrote the melody for Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star at age five. At a corresponding age, I doubt he had anything on Emily. Kudos to her for being a beyond belief talent and a sweet, humble girl. She's fabulous. Love her.

  • @kedisbrow Just to clear up something: Mozart didn't write the "Twinkle" melody, it's actually originally a French folk tune called "Ah, vous derai-je, maman", upon which Mozart based a set of piano variations.

  • @kedisbrow Oh, also Mozart was 25 when he wrote those variations.

  • i want a high definition recording of this so i can listen to it all the time...forever.

  • what are the notes for the right hand

  • oh my gosh. she is going to be such a talanted young lady when she grows up . :o wow, she is incredible!

  • so good !

  • this is amazing. she looks so.... connected to the music i guess you could say. Simply amazing.

  • I feel like a loser compared to her. I must remind myself that I must not feel resentful and ungrateful towards my violin.

  • how could u not like this girl. for one she is just a lovable little person her talent just tops it off. u might not like classical music but u cant help but be amazed by her talent on the piano

  • Just wait until she is 20 ... she is stunning now ... can you imagine her then?!

  • i'm 16 and i don't play half as well. can't say i'm not jealous, but it is still inspiring.

  • i'm just amazed that a seven year old could remember all of those notes. holy crap. I couldn't do that to save my life.

  • Seven Dislikes ? That's SEVEN TOO MUCH !
