i think the best way to handcuff a guy is:

1)you put the cuff on the right wrist, and bend his arm over his shoulder (as if you were forcing him to scratch his back, his palm against upper back).

2)you twist his left arm (back of his hand against his lower back).

3)you pull his left hand up, and cuff it.

Handcuffs are not supposed to stop anyone from scapping, that's what surveillance is for. the method described would imply "practical torture", which should be only used in lifeordeath cases

A video is posted on you tube that shows you how to do this. With a bobby pin he shows exactly how to do it. US Marshals say that all the handcuffs and ankle chains will not stop then but it is to slow them down when an escape is attempted.

We have guys in the prison that have escaped their cuffs... both behind their back, and in the "black box" (bellychained) with a plastic comb... they jam it down between the serrations and it will release if you do it right. We also had a guy jam the double bars open with the lip cover of a drinking fountain and pop the hinge...
