May have been a little close but seen worse. Especially if you're skydiving at a glider facility, you have to look-look-look before jumping. They use the same windcone as we do.
@pulsejet1 One teammate opened at about 30 meters from the glider. At freefall/opening speed this is very close. These guys are all explicitly instructed not to fly through the dropzone!
@kuipersh Like I said, they use the same windcone we do to an extent. I spent eight years at a DZ where gliders also operated and that was always an added 'threat'. Sometimes you knew you were going to be in the same 'space' as a glider. Sometimes it meant a go around. A lot of times it was just a call for better communication between our jump pilots and glider pilots. But not to fly thru 'your airspace' is like them telling you you can't jump in theirs.
