hmmm it really doesn't look as tall as others in it's class. Does the water actually act as a braking system?

And as far as Son Of Beast....I will never ride that thing again. It was entirely too rough and mind numbing. The original is still the best coaster in the park.

Rode this twice on Saturday...

Two Words:

HIGHLY OVERATED!!

(Compared to rides like the Viper, Medusa, Superman, Behemoth, Tatsu; this ride isnt sh*t)

Compare it to other rides at Kings Island.

Better yet, compare it to Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum XL-200, or even Mean Streak; all just a little north at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio (owned by the same company who owns Kings Island) .

Btw, Son of the Beast is easily still the best coaster at Kings Island, hands down.

As I haven't had the need or motive to ride Son of Beast since 05, for the loop was the only fun part. Since the rest of the ride is just a pain trap with no airtime or anything a wooden coaster should have. I meant to compare this ride to other KI rides to show that this ride isn't HIGHLY overrated. But, then again, it is a little bit, what ride isn't when it first opens. I think it's just the fact that people want to ride it.

And once Diamondback loses its luster (much like Firehawk has), people will realize its not as nearly as good as advertised.

Why they couldnt step up & make it a real thrill ride like a Millenium Force (310 foot drop, 93 mph, 6000+ feet track), or Superman Ride of Steel, or Top thrill dragster, steel dragon, ect, ect, is beyond me.

Point is, they could've done so much more with this ride, but failed to give the park another major attraction (roller coaster wise) that it desperately needed.
