  • Wow, somebody has a lot of time on their hands. Only one singer/frontman in the list has a career spanning 50 years and is still performing, still influential, and can still pack stadiums and I'm not talking about Paul McCartney (although he is good in the same way Barry Manilow is good). There's only one #1 Rock and Roll frontman, and it is . . . .

Hate to break it to those other "MJ" fans, but Michael Jackson is NOT rock and roll. He is "pop" or "bubblegum" with some rock infuence.

  • LIAM GALLAGHER ???????????????

  • intresting, 2 of them r beatles xD

  • Whats the name of the song Bono is singing?

  • David Lee Roth should be number 1

Paul McCartney should be in top 5

  • Where is Paul Stanley from Kiss? and where is Michael Hutchence of INXS??

  • Freddie deserves to be at the top since he was a showman to the second he died. On his death bed he sang the song " the show must go on " and he sang with such power that it puts a shiver through my spine every time I hear it.

  • this is bullshit... where the fuck is mike patton?... even amy winehouse should be...

  • @fffabricccio i really hope you are being sarcastic... if u are, then funny post. if not, then wow please dont post anything on any music youtube video, cause u obviously know nothing hahah. amy winehouse is a one hit wonder. she got famous cause she unfortunately passed away.

  • Billie Joe Armstrong?

    Tom Delonge and/or Mark Hoppus?

  • 5 bon scott

    3 freedie mecury

    2 axel rose

    1 robert plant

  • You forgot Corey Taylor, James Hetfield, Dave Grohl, Robb Flynn, Marilyn Manson, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Lemmy, Zakk Wylde.... Just to mention a few.

  • @TheStamford91 thank god he forgot them

  • i love music but i've been studying hard to become a great frontman ,i've been preparing myself for a few years and that's why im here checking your video

Eddie Vedder was a good frontman also Chris Cornell even Marilyn Manson was a really good frontman but he lost credibility for trying to hard to reinvent himself there has been really good frontmen in really shitty bands

  • Plant was a pioneer and a great singer but he wasnt a great performer, look at Led Zeppelin videos on youtube ,he barely moved,he barely connected with the audience,i fucking love Zeppelin and every single artist you mentioned but i've been studying frontmen for about 4 years now and im telling you number one spot either Mercury, Morrison or Rose in no particular order you know who else was a great frontman ,James Dio not to mention that he had an amazing voice also go check RIchard Black .

  • i know this is your list and i know i should respect it and i do cause it seems like you have great taste in music however i think being a frontman and being a performer is not the same thing at all,James Brown was a performer not a frontman,M,J was a performer,Elvis was a performer Janis Joplin didnt achieve as much or have more success as a songwriter than Jim Morrison sorry but there's no fucking way Joplin is better than Morrison ,Axl Rose its b y far a much better frontman than Robert Plant

  • I think 5. Axl 4. Jagger 3. Plant 2. Morrison 1. Freddie

  • weller? gallagher?

  • What's the rolling stones song?

  • Why the screaming fuck is Mr. Mojo Risin only at #10, and, while we're at it, where Is Paul Westerberg?

  • Chris Cornell

  • Axl Rose ahead of Lennon McCartney and Morrison? HELL NO!! Oh and where is Rodger Waters (Pink Floyd)

  • where the hell is steve perry?!

  • @dude35124 good question

  • Where th fuck is David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar???

  • @DeathBodyInTheLake david lee roth is number 18

  • Johnny Rotten?? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???

  • The Holy Trinity of Rock's Singing

    Robert Plant - The Father

Freddie Mercury - The Holy Spirit

    Bono Vox - The Son

  • I think that the top 4 are:(Not in specific order.)

    Kurt Cobain

    Amy Lee ( Evanescence)

    Michael Jackson

    John Lennon

  • change MJ and QEEN places !

  • @bulgiriri Can I ask you? What is QEEN?

  • WHAT THE HELL IS KURT COBAIN DOING AT # 19!!! He should at least be in the top 5.

  • @12389jake he suck as a frontman. i saw him live super lame

  • @bertrice999 its called top 30 best rock/pop frontman/ singers

  • @12389jake what asshole. wanna go!

  • @bertrice999 hahaha i am an asshole sometimes

  • michel jackson sold 110 million copies of a CD thriller and beat the world record 10 times and one of them was to get eight Grammy for one year and earn, money in a year and the Grammy for the best singers and inlikt all history I've read is he is the greatest singer that ever lived. and he came first only know five more people so why take any ridiculous opra singers against King of Pop? I do not think that put the video have read so mychet history of music video I give thumbs down

  • My Favorite Singers

    1 Paul McCARTNEY

    2 Jim Morrison

    3 James Hetfield

  • justicia ..freddie numero 1

  • What is the Genesis song at #23

  • Yeah agreed freddie was a fantastick frontman

  • (continued) or at least could.

    RIP

  • Kurt Cobain is very underrated IMO. That voice, it's so heartbreaking and sad. He's the only one that can do that thing where he squeaks a bit so well. Let's not forget his stage presence. He can make a crowd go wild or make the whole room gloomy. It's amazing.

  • Not to mention, the late great Ronnie James Dio RIP

  • Whoever compiled this list omitted Rob Halford from Judas Priest, the METAL GOD!!

  • no cat stevens kill your self nive selection thaught

  • Mick Jagger is my personal #1

  • Steven tyler should be # 1!!!

  • @1dcpony Agreed

  • and Jerry Lee Lewis?

  • and what about Bruce Springsteen?

  • AND IGGY POP complete the the 4 greatest frontman in rock

  • James Brown,Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury...in this order

  • Where is Mike Patton?!! He is 10 times better than most of the singers in that list.

  • 1:Kurt cobain 2: bon scott 3: jimi Hendrix

  • true true :D

Freddie is amazing best singer ever

    ps. my english is baad (;

  • @MsDurita what do you come from?

  • @GuyFromVault faroe island (:

  • @MsDurita oh, I'm from Poland

  • @GuyFromVault cool (:

  • Jimi Hendrix.

  • no james hetfield ?

  • @xxCODxxMASTERxx hetfield is not a good singer

  • No Bono? It doesn't matter if you like the band or not, he definitely deserves to be on this list.

  • @Neil4Speed he is.

  • paul mccartney should be waaaayyyyyyy higher

  • So glad you included Peter Gabriel

  • Freddie is THE greatest rock vocalist of all time, period. Any list like this that doesn't have Mercury in the top 3 isn't even a valid or credible list.

  • my favourite:

    1. freddie mercury

    2. Robert plant

    3. Elvis presley

    4. Jim morrison

    5. axl rose

  • @dreamsOfRocknroll That's about what I'd put too. LOL.

  • I think it's unfair to say frontman/singer, because for instance Ozzy, isn't a very good singer, but he is an excellent frontman, which makes him great, but the two are completely separate.

  • Robert Plant rates higher that Elvis AND Brother Brown, seriously...? Are you on some modern-day crack or what? Elvis would wipe his ass with Plant, bro... Ur on the money with Jagger though.

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... disagree, robert plant def better frontman than elvis he is unmatchable

  • no way

  • you know that if you dont see freddie mercury by #2 then hes definatley #1 :D and he deserves ever bit of the respect he gets, greatest singer of all time

  • A lot of good singers there but c'mon, are you mental? It should be renamed 'random singers'.

  • Dude,, are you really serious about your list??? LOL... Elvis at No 6??!! There has never been a greater frontman in the history of pop rock music! Freddy is good but he's NOT No 1,,, OMG,,, LMAO

  • Pretty good list, but I would have put Peter Cetera and David Bowie ahead of some of them.

  • wa bout damon albarn

  • i love freddy but hes top 5 not 1, loved the rest of the list just didnt get how bruice dickenson made it on here

  • @swedishpunk84 and if u had johnny rotten joey ramone should have been there right above him

  • for the pop/rock status I would add Madonna, top three pop artists of the 80s were Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince, you have the other two in your list.

  • Howlin' Pelle Almqvist is the punk rock Mick Jagger. Deserves to be on the list.

  • good list only one i woulda added was chris cornell

  • whats the song paul mccartneys singing?

  • why isn't bon scott on 1?

  • Jim Morrison , Mick Jagger, Iggy pop, Elvis Presley .

  • Comment removed

  • FAIL

  • aguevoooooo freddie mercury

  • Elvis?

  • "EEEEULUEULRULUEURLUGUURUEUGUHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!11!"

    Thus says Axl Rose.

  • Steve Perry?

  • It`s your choise but I really miss some more recently musician, like Mike Patton for example.

Freddie Mercury is the number one. Agree.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm surprised there wasn't more from more recently. Jack White? Oh well it's your opinion

  • How about Ian Gillan?

  • The only problem I have is that you only feature something like 3 people who rose to fame after the year 1989. There's bound to be more modern frontmen/women on that list. Liam Gallagher,Matt Bellamy?

  • Over all great list

  • Michael Jackson changed performances forever. He could get a crowd in hysterics just by entering the stage. And he's possibly the best singer ever.

1 Michael Jackson- 2- Freddy Mercury- 3 Bon Scott- 4 Robert Plant- 5 Billy Joe Armstrong. All five are maniacs who were instantly recognizable. RIP to the dead and long live the rest.

  • The best frontman in my opinion:

    1. Axl Rose

    2. Robert Plant

    3. Freddie Mercury

    4. Bon Scott

  • @F2FRONT500

Jackson began singing in a group, and 19 years was the lead singer of Jackson 5 / Jacksons ...

19 years is not enough to be the frontman? lol

  • @mymd11

In this list of personality (frontman), a career in the group Jackson 5 - is part of the creative ways to MJ. The child was a phenomenal voice, so I wonder how someone could consider it not very good singer ..... It's weird.

    My 5:

    1. Freddie Mercury

    2. Robert Plant

    3. Michael Jackson

    4. Klaus Meine (Scorpions)

    5. Elvis Presley / Mick Jagger (long doubted, because the remaining positions are obvious)

  • John Lennon nr 1

  • Bon Scott on 22.. LOL????? he should be on fucking 1!! and where the fucking hell is Brian Johnson?

  • what's the title of the aerosmith and rolling stones song??

  • Where is Craig Mabbitt (Escape the Fate) in all of this?

  • Mick Jagger should really be no. 1

  • @1971LEDZEPPELIN Mick Jagger is a great singer but he's not got the voice of F. Mercury... :/

  • i think you missed gilan or coverdale! dio could make it. and if you were not american you would know a guy named klaus meine!

  • Fun Vid thanks. But you need to redefine front men. Hendrix was not a front man, Franklin not, Elvis not etc. how many of these singers could make it on their own, how many have? Hell Jagger could not make it on his own. : ) But this Vid is your passion thanks again.

  • @dukethejuke hendrix was a front man, a front man is just whatever dude stands out front and sings it don't matter if he has a guitar in his hands or not

  • close but no cigar! Steve Perry should be there.

  • chris cornell?

  • MJ is NO.1 .... thuumbs upif u agree

  • Wow. I pretty much completely agree.

  • BRUCE DICKINSON! also where's Bowie? :(

  • Joey Ramone and Freddie Mercury for me.

  • @Horaciow14 Joey was amazing but i dont know about being a frontman, he looked like a stick hanging onto his microphone.

  • the only one on here that i thought was in there rightful place was freddie amazing he truely is amazing

  • Paul Mccartney Is the best ever on the world

    i love you

  • For me.. Thom York is the first.

"Remember a great front man is not measured by the skill of his/her voice, but on how crazy he/she can make the masses go.

    "

Than pick out the "singer" from the title.

  • For me.. Thom York is the first.

  • I agree Ian Anderson, Ian Gillian, Joni Mitchell, Edgar Winter? Are we judging pure vocal capability or entertainment value?

  • @Skydog75 entertainment value and skill read description

  • Why isn't Ian Anderson included on any of these lists? He's number one!

  • best singer is def Robert Plant, freddie is awesome too

  • Kurt Cobain!!!!!!! :)!

  • I am really sorry to say this since I'm a diehard metalhead but the King and those sweet little playthings in the same video?

No one really, truly believes that the most nipped and tucked of the Jackson five is still alive and abducted by the aliens but a lot of people believe it about some other bloke you chose to put there somewhere.

Sorry man, really close but no cigar :)

  • Where's Buddy Holly? He not only was a great singer, but he laid a foundation for a lot of the people on here. He should be #1.

  • Why is the peice of shit Bono on here???

  • Where's Dio ?? And Where's Klaus Meine(Scorpions) ?????

Michael Jackson ??? LOOl Michael Jackson but not Dio O_o

  • @1980HardRock Who did it better than Michael Jackson on the stage? even with the Jackson 5 he was utterly phenomonal. I can guess alot of the people you like hid behind there guitars and were just like the many other acts on this list when performing, MJ was different.

  • @TheYates100 On stage ? David Lee Roth, Elvis Presley, Alice Cooper, Kiss... Sorry, I don't like this guy, i don't like his music but i'f you like it, it's your choise, No problem ;-)

  • @1980HardRock See your knocking him because you don't like him, sorry but Elvis Pressley was no where as near as entertaining as MJ and just so you know, MJ had a near 4 octave range, a higher range than the majority on this list, maybe only Freddie is higher? Mj as a kid would get him on this list, as an adult? exactly.

  • @1980HardRock Alice Cooper ???

  • @wardr5 Yes

  • u gotta be kidding me..... where is david bowie and lemmy?

  • Ian Anderson all of the way.

  • Ronnie James Dio??????

  • Where is Joey Ramone?????

  • JB IS THE BEST!!

    Jazz and Blues i mean

  • Robin Zander????? Ann Wilson?????

  • Where is Myles Kennedy, Eddie Vedder, Paul Rogers and why oh why is Steven Tyler lower than Axl Rose ????? Oh hang on, scratch that, this is your top 30 not mine ;)

  • MICHAEL STIPE?

  • @AndizKiss yeah, dude, You're fuckin right :)

Paul Stanley is a great singer !!

  • The list starts with Elvis at # 1, after that it really doesn't matter ( except Lennon and McCartney should be in the top ten).

  • michael jackson the best performer/singer of all time should be no.1.

  • 2:45 song name? :D

  • Totally agree with number one. But why the hell was Aretha Franklin on this list?

  • paul mccartney and john lennon should be higher, if you dont agree check out the beatles at shea stadium

  • bruce dickinson?jameshetfield?

  • axl= #1

  • It's between Plant and Morrison for me...

  • Where's (inset mediocre, obscure singer's name here) ?

  • were r the foo fighters man

  • ruffin

  • robert plant should of been 1st but still freddies good

  • Woooow, no Jeff Buckley?

  • michael jackson

  • kurt should be in 10 firsts

  • Axl Rose is terrible. John Lennon rules.

  • Comment removed

  • Paul Stanley, ftw!

  • Robert Plant, please.

  • And Liam Gallagher?

  • @mariano3942 Oasis suck. Give me a break, Wonderwall??
