  • You guys are some tough fuckers. I bitch about the weather when it's -5

  • that place seems a 3rd world country

  • I live in B.C. and I'm very interested in Nunavut, especially Alert.

  • @T4nz4ni4232 dude this palce is just below the Arctic Circle. Jesus Get a brain cel why don't you.

  • Looks like there's not much to do here but to become extremely badass or just become extremely alcoholic.

  • what do young people do there on the weekends.. any night life.. clubs or bars...

  • i live here in iqaluit born and raised here

  • If you had high speed internet at least ^^ Almost went work there but i think it would of been very interesting but not to live always though too hard condition of living.

  • I cannot find any ignorant American comments on here. One American said he/she would like to visit all the provinces and territories in Canada. This is one of the territories. The person never said it was close to Toronto.

  • Enjoy the outdoors.

    NYUH!!!!

  • of two countries with culture is him. he must be a fat fuck who stays at home that's why american bitches come to mexico to get satistaction they can't get at home. and just for the record u s something doesn't have natural resources as much as canada an mexico. bad thing based on some bad goverments we depend on US. so as i was saying we jump that fuked up country to visit a gorgeous colorful and enourmous country called canada...

  • don't listen to that ignorant hill billie red neck...i'm from mexico and trust me we jump that hidious country call u s something cuz america is the whole continent ...they don't even have a name for that impostor based on immigrants country where chicks only now how to give a blow job and guys are connected to their tv because they live a life based on sedentary and junk food. remember that with no culture the only one allowed to be jelaous

  • Sorry, I couldn't hear you because my country is too busy being the home of guys like Chuck Norris and Steven Spielberg...

  • @ZShort1985

Our country is too busy being the home of people like Mike Myers, Shania Twain, Jim Carrey and James Cameron...

  • @nfbmfred Oh, I guess America is too busy to care, what with being the home of Ernest Hemingway, Samuel Clemons, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison...

  • @ZShort1985 You can't take credit for Graham Bell considering he spent pretty much half his life in Canada and patented the telephone in Nova Scotia.

  • Well said MrYpres.American ignorance knows no bounds.Even Barak O. cant change that.I go to Toronto every year and I hate having to transit through N.Y.Went to USA( L.A.)for the 1st time last year for the Breeders Cup horse racing meet, never again! I 'm treated like a terrorist at JFK even though I'm a white Christian Irishman.

  • look at the classic example of american ignorance , this guy probably thinks this place is a 10 minute drive from toronto,, i heard this one american say that he went as far a winnipeg where the tree line stopped

  • I'd love to visi Iqaluit :) I really Want to visit all the provinces and territoties in Canada!

But the music makes it sound like mars!

    Lol :)

  • this is in the remote arctic tundra, i live in southern ontario and this is still WAYYYYYY farther north than here. I do agree however it seems pretty desolate for human life!!

  • I don't understand the people who come here and slam your town. I think the place looks greaat and would love to visit. I will say that Pond Inlet looks even more sublime.

  • I work the flight almost every day where i am from so its free for me to fly with CN i plan to go there this August 2009 and camp

  • haha I'm with you on that completely

  • its summer and everybody still has to wear winter clothes

  • nah, its about 15c in the summer time, I lived there for 3 years.

  • still though, thats pretty cold for the summer. Thats like spring time weather here. But I guess it still gets to about 10 at night time in the summer here....

  • @edmangel26 No, that's New York City's job.

  • So what was the reason that this place became built up the way it is?

  • ever since i was little ive wanted to go on an arctic vacation. this is great.

  • so cool, makes me want to see more of my country

  • i live here it is magnifisint!it is a great little town. i was born here and live close to the north mart.but everything is kinda expencive here.anyways it is a great town all of you hope to see you visit soon!!!

  • Ummmmm what do you do for fun? do you guys have a best buy or something? Can you buy video games like ps3 and xbox 360?

  • of course you can get those

    just go to our stores

  • you guys have stores? lol nah just jokin. Is practically everybody native over there? and also do u ever get tired of the cold weather?

  • how long is summer there? degrees? jobs?i´m chilean, the town look like same punta arenas south extreme to chile, Canada is wonderful.

  • Summer is very short with only about 2-3 months of a growing season for the small vegetation found with temperatures at times reaching 10 degrees celsius. The mean annual temperature is -10 C. Most jobs are government based and revolve around the airport. Iqaluit is just south of the arctic circle which therefore receives at least 1 full day of total darkness.

  • I'm from Dublin,Ireland.I visit Toronto several times a year.Perhaps I should go to Iqaluit as I'm facinated by remote places with harsh climates.Although when I was in Toronto in March 2007 it was -22C! Alex Wurman, classic musican!

  • I went up there this past august for an Army exercise, I'm so grateful to have gone there. Great little town of just over 6,000. Walking up that path to see the water fall and an amazing sun set was so fulfilling

  • Iqaluit is incredible. I lived there for 6 months last year. I plan on returning very soon. There is something about the town that cannot be put into words. Great video.

  • Have fun, Sularon! This is the perfect time to go. Temp is between 10-20 degrees (daytime) and 0-10 at night. Bring something warm! I just wish there was a Tim Horton's up there! And check out one room airport. Check in on the left, baggage claim on the right, waiting room in the middle and customs at the back. Totally efficient!

  • Amazing video! I'm leaving for Iqaluit in 6 days and it will be my first time up there. Your video has given me a small idea of what to expect when I arrive. Thanks!

  • Iqaluit has an unconventional beauty that has attracted me to going twice in the last 4 years for work. I find the beauty comes from the land and the sea. There are some very nice carvings in places as well as inukshuks. As you travel north over Quebec and Ontario, the trees seem to get shorter and shorter until they're gone. This is a very cool place with not a lot to do other than take in the gorgeous scenery and breath in REAL air for a change! Thanks for the comments!

  • Great video....i noticed obviously that there were no trees or green grass. i wonder if there was not something out there to beautify the city like decorative rocks and landscaping chips or i think some pines could survive the harsh winters. Hmmmm. :-)

  • LOL! I'm going to assume that two years later you realize that not even pines can survive up there. Hence why there aren't pines up there, lol.

See polemicmusic's comment about the trees getting shorter and shorter until there are none.

  • It looks like there is nothing there.

  • Only 3 days for work, unfortunately. This was my 2nd time in Iqaluit... I like it very much and am lucky to get the chance to go.

  • how lon were u in iqaluit for?
