I am a metal head but.... This dude IS the greatest vocalist I ever seen and heard of, a powerful voice with energy to fire up a forrest fire, with rythm in his singing that adds eve more energy.... I am not sure if this is absolute sure, but there was a rumour that Mic Jagger was about to leave the band and Keith played this track to him and sad that this dude woul replace him.... No wonder he stayed in the band....
I'm in love with this version since I listened for the first time in 1987 at Rafael Abitbol's radio program "Rock 3" in Radio Nacional de España Radio 3

terence trent darby michel jackson and prince are all great they do their own thing.../ michel jackson played hand drums and piano and guitar..fact / darby is very under rated....... and so is prince.....i must see darby on snl/ note i live in philly every one is a fan of all three i never heard people fight over them be for this crazy.....
@xkoamane michael played nothing, dude. i can play too...BUT NEVER DO IT IN FRONT OF PEOPLE HAHAHA...be serious, if u wanna discuss about this issue. MJ was a singer dancer, period.
@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 I have said these exact words many times over many years. No disrespect to MJ. Great entertainer - singer/dancer (and really, live in the older years...you had to see it cuz he sounded like crap most of the time. just my opinion).
MJ did often sing live, but did also lipsync a lot too (from about 1993 onwards anyway). However, he did write and compose many of his own songs. He used to sing every note of each instrument, including the notes that made chords, now that is talent! I'm a huge TTD/Sananda fan, but have to say Jacko was a very talented musician/singer and performer.
@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 : Man if this guy had the same public relations people (with all the technological gimmicks that came with them) that say MJ had....THIS guy could have easily outshone the so -called king of pop....
jackson hated TTD and kicked him out from SONY and sabotaged his second album. TTD said it in an interview. Michael said something like " we dont need another young black superstar. We have enough with Prince"
@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 : WORD..? I had heard that...You know what, facts like this should be exposed for the whole world to see what time it was with this MJ cat for real. Dude dies of a drugs overdose, settled outta court TWICE for child molestation accusations, engaged with phone sex over the phone with a minor...dangled his baby, butchered his own face, YET he is still put on a pedestal....Damn?
@utubeviewer121 just remember grammies 88. TTD performed live (with fever) and wacko jacko lip synched. wacko got a standing ovation. prince did not even clap. this world is crazy. later on stupid MJ fans (99% of them are stupid and VIOLENT) said michael had a sore throat...yeah, sure...he had a sore throat for 40 years. he lip synched 99% of his performances. he doesnt play a single instrument or compose the music and people say his the king of music? this is crazy....
@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 : Oh, I seen that. I think Prince clapped though....not that it matters...Oh yeah his fans would find excuses for ANYTHING...what have they been violent to you in the past. some cuss me out over the internet, but that's as far as it's gone thus far.T
TTD injects so much powerful soul into these classic rock songs. It's just priceless. I'm thinking also of his cover of Dylan's "It's Alright, Ma" (which, if you like this, you will LOVE that) and Bolan's "Children of the Revolution."
Thank you for posting! I remember watching him do a similar version on SNL back in 1988 or 1989, and watching it in absolute awe! any chance you have that version?
@Hibbs4Prez Damn..really!? I've been looking for that performance FOREVER...saw it on a repeat in 2001 and blew me away! Sananda is the most underrated performer and voice ever to me
@Hibbs4Prez Ive been looking for that for ever, I sued to have it on VHS tape I think I wore it out. I wish the INXS recordings were of beter quality those are some of the best live performances by both INXS and Sananda. Id they remastered the video and audio i'd buy it.
