Ford has been making the Mustang for a long time now, so Camaro wasn't the first coupe. But Mustang did suck for the last 10 years, but 2011+, Camaro can't touch it. I love Chevy but Mustang will out perform it any day. Even the new ZL1, im pretty sure the 750+hp SuperSnake can do the job...

The design and dimensions of the 1 are very much like the 2002 and E30. TALL roofline, short trunk, long hood, and a very short front overhang. To me these qualities could not get any closer to those olden cars enthusiast still rave about. The haters probably never owned an e30 or 2002. I owned 2, 318is and 1 E30 ///M3. And I will have a 1 ///M coupe!

Designers etc. are sadly just part of that company regardless where they are from. But when you place that design in another company's hands, say, Zagato then your Aston whatever is distinctly italian by design and marketed as such by it's parent and very british Indian owned brand.

Ha, anyhoo, I feel the car under it's parent company is distinctly Japanese, yes it might have been designed in Italy but by no means will this car be mistaken for any European born brand, unless of course it is by someone who cannot tell the difference between a beatle and a porsche a lambo or a Ferrari etc.

@EYE50MM well, unfortunaly here in europe the design of the car, it isn't passing a great time...they all start to make copycat of it AUDI, BMW (after chris bangle, one may love him or not, but they had personality is car) for the design, here in europe my point is that we lost too much...look the hyundai-kya, the produce great design (ex audi designer), as well the ft...finaly toyota start to do something more agressive, and even sportier...that's the way...btw series 1 is ugly as hell IMHO

@277894 I agree, copycats like Hyundai with their sonata is basically the same design aesthetics and surfaces as the old Mercedes CLS, fully! But it sells and hyundai's designs are better than most even if they have 1 strong copycat, it is a copycat that delivers. By the way, I absolutely love Chris Bangle, his designs are inspiring. Radical, it was the fulcrum point for all car companies to switch gears in their surface and design approach. As I LOVE the 1 series BMW, fantastic new translation

@277894 I love the 1st Generation 1 series. it is to me anyway - a modern interpretation to the cars that put BMW on the map early on. The design and dimensions of the 1 are very much like the 2002 and E30. TALL roofline, short trunk, long hood, and a very short front overhang. To me these qualities could not get any closer to those olden cars enthusiast still rave about. The haters probably never owned an e30 or 2002. I owned 2, 318is and 1 E30 ///M3. And I will have a 1 ///M coupe!
