  • Review Chip tha Rippers, Tell Ya Friends.

  • I love this mixtape, especially more so since I can understand the verses he does in Punjabi :P. The production is soo dope, and I love Heem's flow and lyrics.

  • No Kill No Beep Beep

  • A Mamoun's Falafel shirt? FUCK YEAH.

  • agreed!

  • I was really feeling this not every thing but most of it.

  • review Nickelus f: Faces please

  • Hmmm that was a SHORT intro..

    sorry...

  • best cal bit of all time

  • How is Desi Shoegaze Taiko your least favorite track?! I guess the "shoegaze" element doesn't sound like they were trying to get the sample to fit into a conventional beat format, the way they do with the Indian music samples. But I thought it all fit together better than some other songs. The subject matter, being a kid in the early 90s, fits perfectly with 90s fuzzy guitar.

  • The sub-2 minute tracks that feel like "filler" are very much a part of the hip-hop mixtape aesthetic... and you know that, sir.

  • I agree with you on the fact that this nehru jackets is better than relax. Victor's mixtape kinda sounded like if he wasn't really trying too hard. Like if he just had to put something out because he had to. I definitely do enjoy this mixtape and the featured tracks are great. I would say that my favorite tracks are Kate Boosh, Ride The Wave, Thug Handles, and Swate. Mike Finito is a talented beat maker. The production is sick. Favorite track for production is Kate Boosh. That is all, Anthony.

  • review the new jack white single!

  • q and not u!

  • Frankenstein - Rappin Ass Nigga

  • language

  • OREN AMBARCHI - AUDIENCE OF ONE

  • I really enjoyed this mixtape not only because of HEEMS personality but the friggin beats! It feels like a fun little inside joke to recognize the stuff that Mike is sampling from like "Bad Street" by Twin Sister on I Want It Bad (Liquid Heart), "Rubber" by Yuck on Desi Shoegaze Taiko and even The Strokes' unreleased track "NYC Cops" in the chorus of HEEMS track of the same name. Did you hear anything you already knew?

  • REVIEW LIVE FOR, DIE FOR ALBUM BY OVERDOZ. PLEEEEEASE I wanna know yo opinion

  • Lol opening

  • DIE ANTWOORD

  • You actually listened to me I love you

  • parle g biscuits are amazing

  • good review great tape

  • i feel like there's too many joke tracks on Nehru Jackets...Womyn 2, Heem's verse sucked! and and it kinda sucks on Womyn, too. And like WTF to Jason Bourne and COMPUTERS! i love that song, but its really not good. u can't give this a good review, and hate on RELAX! the reason u gave for disliking relax seems not to apply to this....

  • @Pogra01 I think Womyn is supposed to be a satire of rappers and rap tracks that only deal with getting with lots of girls and rap being misogynistic. I mean the chorus of Womyn is "These chicks is women, they like that all the time" HEEMS isn't being too serious here. The entire time he is using a really simple rhyme form and is purposefully not saying anything meaningful or even interesting "I know women, they like to go swimming, they like tea, they like to think in the cool breeze"

  • Not surprising. Heems has always been the better half of Das Racist.

  • am i right that this is a free download that was put on megaupload and now the fbi took it down?

    das racist!! :(

  • man how come no one ever gives fat tony his love? he's def gone in on all the DR songs they feature him on; his verse on "bangles" is srsly great! i'm not a stan/dick-rider i'm just sayin, give the dude some shine

  • I kind of feel the opposite of you about their albums. I loved Relax all the way through, but all their mixtapes feel inconsistent, even though they each have stand out tracks.

  • can you plz review Tiron & ayomari - a sucker for pumps

  • Review The Woman You Love-Ashanti

  • I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I'm one hell of a picky bastard.

  • YOU LINKED THE THE 2011 LOVED LIST IN THE BOX

  • @telelevision fix'

  • Hahaha the pleb only has 15 gigs of music

  • thanks for the introduction, Anthony. I really enjoy these guys and had no idea that this was coming out. (probably because I live under a rock.)

  • Swate came out last year, and I'm really glad to see it on an actual release.

  • REVIEW- Ashanti "The Woman You Love"

  • Phony Ppl - Phonyland

  • @isaacf27 I'd love to see that.

  • you should review a album by Bal Sagoth - Chtonic chronicles

its a wicked good band(my favorite).

  • Dammit Anthony, you're the best. I have around 15gigs of music now, and about half a gig of that is thanks to you...it doesn't sound like much but it's some of the stuff I listen to the most. You're a great music enthusiast, and I hope my library continues to fill with music you've opened me up to. The best "Sub" I ever had.

  • Totally agree with your opinions on the whole Das Racist catalog. Nehru Jackets is definitely the most impressed I've been with DR since the 2010 tapes.

  • Nice burp at 4:55

  • I should be thanking you really, I've been listening to this album non-stop for like 2 days haha

  • I actually thought you were paid to do this full-time. Now that I've found out that you don't, I'll start on clicking on your ads a lot more. Hope you don't mind :)

  • Relax was my favourite album of last year... guess we're two different people.

  • Trst from Trust please.

  • I liked this tape a whole lot, I just almost would have liked to hear more from Kool AD. Of course, I get that this is a solo tape, but vicky contributes some of my favorite verses that DR has to offer.

  • GRIMES -Visions its like J pop but good

  • Review of Deathconsciousness once the re-pressing gets finished?

  • Kayo Dot in YUNOREVIEW!? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!?!?!?

  • Given to the Wild - The Maccabees

  • Spot on with this and your thoughts about Relax.

  • Pulled Apart By Horses - Tough Love

  • What's that creepy little noise after he says "Anthony Fantano" at the end... ? Scareh.

  • I love Anthony so much.

  • Mamoun's Falafel swag

  • Loma Prieta - I.V.

  • please review patience by the caretaker

  • review mouse on the keys- an anxious object.

  • i live in South Dakota, and its a musical wormhole out here. they are playing nirvana and the toadies like they just came out... Keep doing your thing I really appreciate it

  • oh my god that was the best intro hahahhahahahahaahh

  • It's a little late... But review the new Steve aoki album!!!

  • @DominicShivone or dont

  • Das Racist is my shit.

  • the album cover looks like a Parley G package. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  • i dont understand how you like das racist but hate childish gambino they pretty much have the same concept when writing.

    1.) Race

    2.) Girls

    3.).......

    4.) Great track

  • @kashcino1

    Childish Gambino is lame.

  • @IsabellaLemar how?

  • @kashcino1

    I find his personality obnoxious.

  • @IsabellaLemar but hes a good rapper

  • @kashcino1

meh, he's alright. I really just can't get over how pretentious his fan base is (not saying that you are) Im black, and all my life I've enjoyed ambient music, electronica, sci-fi, math and other such "not-black" things, and I got called an "oreo" like in middle school, but I got over it...I think a good portion of his fan base is black teenagers who think they're the most unique person who ever lived OMG! Just because they like anime and alternative rock bands. Meh.

    #opinions

  • @IsabellaLemar yeah i get your point but i think he doesnt just rap for a pretentious fanbase. I think he has a bigger message than im black im a geek i like diferent stuff. But only time will tell i guess

  • @kashcino1 they have the same concept when writing? they really, really, really, really don't. das racist makes funny, charismatic, satirical hip hop tunes that attack a variety of different issues. childish gambino views himself as an outsider in hip hop when the fact of the matter is he's really not. while das racist's rhymes are hyper self-aware, gambino's verses about him and his music lack any self-awareness. his view of the world of hip hop is very off-base.

  • @theneedledrop opinions are opinions but at least we both love rap lol. Great review by the way

  • You should review Tim and Eric's B$M. #shrim

  • you should review Porcelain Raft's Strange Weekend album next.

  • It's a little older but you should review Hadestown by Anais Mitchell

  • i know this album is way out of date, but could you please do a review of Dandelion Gum or Big Science. Thank you and keep making videos.

  • Thoughts on The Dillinger Escape Plan, Anthony?

  • @lurkah44 they're not really one of my favs. *shrugs*

  • LANA DEL RAY

  • Are you doing another Y U NO Review for this month anthony?

  • DO THE "MARTYR BY IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE"

    THATS REAL RAP!!!!

  • @FabreezeFlow21 sadly, that one's too old to review at this point. i don't see how it's "real rap," though. is das racist less real?

  • Comment removed

  • Gonn check it. Review Lana Del Rey's new album!

  • love this too. gonna be coming back to it for sure when i need summer jams.

  • y u no review common? hahahha i dont want to badger you on it, just wondering if you are not into common, or if it passed you by

  • @froman46992 i'm into common, but not his new album. :-/

  • Review 360's flying and falling

  • Was your New Years resolution to give higher scores?

  • @myfriedme have i really been giving out that many high scores? lulz.

  • I loved this album

  • When did theneedledrop start getting ads?

  • @JOSERULZ69 just last week. youtube's been automatically running them before my videos, and i'm not sure what to do. i'm making more money from them, but i'm wondering whether or not it's scaring away potential subscribers or PISSING EVERYONE OFF. i'd be happy to hear your input if you message me. :-)

  • Review Born to Die by Lana Del Rey. :)

  • Never mind I found it on Mediafire it's all good.

  • Dammit I can't download Palm Wine Drinkard because they took Megaupload down. Some ol' bullshit.

  • In general, I like Das Racist's production but i'm not crazy about their lyrics...Similarly, Heems' production is incredible but I find myself caring for only a handful of songs...I only really like the songs that feature eXquire, Danny Brown & Bronson tbh...

  • I've been wondering for a while why the comments sections on each video are filled with more review requests than responses to the reviews themselves...

  • @ALTERNATECHAOS have you discovered the answer?

  • You should review Dom Kennedy. From the westside, with love II, Or the original Dom Kennedy mixtape.

  • Why the hell didn't you like the album?

  • @BlackStarKeepShining well, watch my review of it, won't you? lulz.

  • @theneedledrop I did!

  • Review the new Kayo Dot.

  • A solid mixtape, but a bit overwhelming. I didn't have the patience to listen to 25 songs. Can you review The Other Side of Tomorrow by The Slakadeliqs? It's a very chill soul/psych/folk/hip-hop album by Torontonian hip-hop producer Slakah the Beatchild.

  • Could you please review Lana Del Rey's new album? It comes out in a few days. I've heard good and bad reviews about the EP, but it would be nice to hear your input.

  • review PORTICO QUARTET - PORTICO QUARTET. progressive post-jazz from the UK, influenced by everything from flying lotus to four tet. out in a few days.

  • Review the Richard Papiercuts - A Sudden Shift LP on Pena Records. Album of the year.

  • YEAH!

  • Please can you review The Twilights Sad's new album "No One Can Ever Know" They are an amazing band and I would like to see your opinion their new album, Its released 4th February and have already released a few tracks from the new album. Please review this, they are one of my favourite bands currently. Cheers.

  • @ProductsFromTheBrain not sure. i've never been a fan of the group's previous stuff. just done nothing for me. it seems the material from their new record is the same, in my opinion. :-/

  • @theneedledrop Hrmm im trying to stay open minded, from what ive heard ive liked, i think its good that they switch styles and try new things. I have a felling that it will be a good album, i saw them live in november and they played a load of old stuff as well as 4 tracks from their new album including Alphabet and Dont Move :) At the end of the day you dont have to review it its just been a long waited album and i would like to hear your view on it :)

  • Review On The Impossible Past by the Menzingers!

  • "Yo, spy versus spy, turn around put a fuckin bullet in ya eye. I don't know my name!"

Yay great review! Basically hit the nail on the head: great, consistent, and different production and flows, top features that don't crowd the tape, lots of content, and maybe a couple fillers but they ride great too. When I saw that the mixtape had 25 songs I was a little worried, but its awesome. Definitely makes up for Relax in my books.

  • fuck me. soooo good.

  • Don't get me wrong. I love Das Racist's message but I'm always afraid I'll get blown up while listening to them.

  • so much hip-hop recently.

  • @Rabbitthateats it hasn't really been that much.

  • I downloaded the mixtape but the tags were so messy I nearly killed myself :C Sorry.

  • @donnishark killed?

  • You forgot to mention Lakutis

  • @Mrju5tice i did. i wasn't really into his tape, tho. :-/

  • HUMBLE THE POET!!!!!!!! Btw your vids rock!!

  • @jokesrus5 thank you!

  • the beats are f*cking crazy, i love them, bad bad bad is my favorite but i dont like the vocals, they seem... not 100% (like a needle a drop video without "the internets busiest music nerd" *cries*)

  • HE DIDN’T WACK WHAT’S HIS NAME IN THE CORNER.

  • I really liked the beats. The bollywood sounds and soul were all great. Lyrically is where I struggled. Womyn, Computers etc for me felt like meh jokes. A couple of quotables but feel like cheap jokes. What I liked about Das Racist is that they were making fun of rap but you could tell that they could rap well. It maintained some form of artistic integrity that I could swallow their jokes not feeling like I was laughing cheaply but at well crafted jokes I didn't feel that here.

  • @TheWolvesDen hmmm. i didn't really feel like this LP was that cheap. i felt like i got that feeling on relax, though. this was defintiely a change for the better to me. a return to the tapes, in my opinion.

  • KENDRICK LAMAR-KENDRICK LAMAR

  • @TheBrendanio001 he's a good guy.

  • @theneedledrop LOL could you do a review of his new self titled album?

  • 4:55 You swine haha

  • Review Joe Cool - Cooley Hi

  • "Hi here, Anthony everyone Fantano"

  • Review George Watsky's new EP! If you like intelligent hip-hop you HAVE TO hear some of his material. The EP drops on 1st Feb.

  • Comment removed

  • Why the fuck didn't he say internet's busiest music nerd?

  • @BangletheVisionary soryyrryryryryryr

  • Yo, review that new Sleigh Bells track.

I wanna know if you think that shit's whack.

  • @PersonMan92 not sure if i'll review the track. i do plan on reviewing the album, tho.

  • What do Anthony's neighbours think of him every time he goes outside to film the intro?

  • @Anthemagne I think they must have gotten used to it because Anthony does that almost daily for 3 years.

  • @Anthemagne No, his resolution was to get laid more often, LEADING to higher scores.

  • @Anthemagne they think it's awesome!

  • random burp!

  • Hi Anthony. I randomly discovered your channel today while searching for Autolux interviews and have been hooked ever since I saw your review for Transit, Transit. You are a very honest and fair reviewer, the best I've seen on Youtube yet. Anyways, I wanted to ask if you could please review the semi-newish Teebs record, "Collections 01". I would love to hear your opinion on it. Thanks.

  • @smartdonkey66 sadly, that teebs record is too old to review. :-/ i thought it was a little better than ardour, tho.

  • What the hell?? Ive been watching this guys videos for 2 years and have never been giving an ad before it until today.

  • Hipster Hop

  • @TheSethIkrass gooooooooooooooooood oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • @theneedledrop sarcasm ftw!!!

  • thank you needle drop for this review, I was afraid people were going to sleep on this

  • @16cammac i think people still will, but whatever.

  • lana del rey...do it

  • Future Money by an artist going by Shoelace.

    A heavy release you'd appreciate!

  • Q AND NOT U!!! fuck yeah man

  • before i even hit play on one of your videos, i hit the like button, to be honest your the only YouTube channel i do that :)

  • but you should review Big Fucking Baby, a better mixtape in my humble opinion, but damn can he can flow

  • awesome was looking forward to this review

  • Have you reviewed the Oblivionized EP?

  • Ok hate to spoil the party here, but while I enjoyed this, it wasn't great. I like Finito's production, but many tracks feel very samey to me. Heems sounds a bit unfocused, and there are many gems that are lost in sloppy verses.

DON'T HATE ME IT'S JUST AN OPINION.

But hey, I liked Relax a lot better than Anthony, so it's all good.

  • @Alex703rockstar i think heems sounds sloppy sometimes, but i think it's mostly an act. while he comes off really non-chalant with his rhymes and his flow, his words are really detailed and readable, which i think it part of the appeal he has with me.

  • You always review sh*t no-ones heard of ... it's awesome. Where do you hear about and find these albums?

  • @roronora A lot of people have heard of DR.

  • this tape is too good

  • This is basically Heem's Fantastic Damage. He went in on this mixtape

  • Pelican - Lathe Biosas

    Please? =D
