I have a miniature schnauzer, and watching this he has all the same mannerisms.. just smaller - how funny. He firmly believes that ALL the sticks in the woods nearby are his. Clara is beautiful.

It is amazing how alike all Giants seem to be in their mannerisms! I so enjoy watching these videos and comparing them to what our Giant does or would do.

You must do research before owning a Giant. They are very unique dogs. I got mine from HiStyle in Illinois, Skansen is a bit of a mill in my opinion. Do not buy a Giant on a whim, they are big, stubborn, long-lived dogs, that need a special owner.

@kassiariggs that is exactly our experience. My family had a giant who was raised as a puppy by my parents. She was very sweet, stubborn, and loyal. Now we have a Giant male that we got about 2 years ago when he was 2. He is very, very loveable towards us and anyone he knows/gets used to but he is aggressive towards others and had a bit of a dominance problem. That shows what bad "parenting" can do to a dog.

Yes I'd have to agree but are they good with other dogs, we have a 2 year old male English Bull Terrier and are to get him a mate to run and play with during the days and we also love the Schnauzers .

If you do get one just make sure it's a puppy , that way the puppy grows up knowing the other dogs.

Yes, I'd like to think all dogs are natuarally friendly....The way you train and care for a dog is what determines aggressive and kindness in a dog.

I love Giants, but switched to Black Russian Terriers. They are calmer, larger, faster, bark less, get along with cats, and don't bite their owners. (I had 2 Giants that were biters)

BUT, Giant Schnauzers are phenomenally beautiful. I would own one again. They are SO "terrier" and have those spunky eyes and tons of attitude. I visit them at every show.

I dont believe they are any kind of "terrier"..They are a working dog. I have had 2 Giants now and love them both very much.. My female WAS a biter but with proper training she had overcome it.

It must be nice ! My Clara is very agile with the garbage can, and dragging me around the levee. I'll need some pointers....

The most important thing you should know about Agility is that it's all supposed to be fun and games. Lots of treats and toys, no choke chains and no punishments, only a light "Oops!" to let the dog know she made a mistake and can try again. Let me know if you need any tips for training.... :)

Miss Clara loves to guard her balcony like our Ronnie :-) I live in London and visited New Orleans for Christmas a few years back and had the best time ever. New Orleans is on my list of favourities places to visit so hope she gets back on her feet so I can come and visit again soon. Best wishes, SF
