Iraq is a whole other argument so I won't comment there. The American rule of law isn't without some corruption and missteps but our justice system is the strongest in the world, and things like our peaceful elections and the standard of due process point to this all day long.
The United States still has the most powerful military in the world, we're still the wealthiest nation despite our current economic woes, and our political influence is unmatched. I'd say those are realistic qualifiers.
