I luv how Shaq says "it takes 2 to make things go right.....me and Kobe" Damnnnn I love the Lakers too bad Shaq retired as a Celtic he kind of fucked up his legacy
iv been to every Lakers parade for winning the championship since 2000 and this one was probably my favorite.......<3333333 THE LAKERS!!!!!!!!!! 3 PEAT THIS YEAR!!!!!!YEAH BOY!!!!!!!!
i miss the shaq and kobe era.....both players so dominant. no wonder they won back to back to back. and to prove how great they were, even on separate paths, they still dominated the game. i'm really proud to be a laker fan and to be a part of that era.
the young players that we have today, the free agents to be exact (lebron, wade, bosh)....they should realize that championships is not just about JOINING FORCES....it's hard earned. blood, sweat and tears.
lol i remember one of the sixers saying, how they are gona play games hard, but he was happy with just being eastern conference champions. LOL, basically meant, he dosent believe he could even contend against the LAKERS. Which was the case this year. Too Good....
I'd love to see the 2000-2001 Lakers go against the 1990-1991 Chicago Bulls the two best records in the playoffs meeting in a showdown winner take all, two evenly matched (except for the center position) teams, two of the greatest one two punches in history, Kobe and Shaq versus Pippen and Jordan but how can Phil Jackson coach both teams at once?
"shaq , dont give up the lead this time, you gave up the last one" .. i bet you that Phil is the only coach who has the guts to tell that to shaq right in his face..!! may be pat riley.. but even he would worry about hurting the big fella's feelings..
Indeed. Still though, Allen is an all time great. He was a point guard who carried his team all the way to the finals. He did what Lebron did that year he was swept by the Spurs. The difference is that AI is 5'11 and 170 pounds with wet clothes. He will be missed.
No doubt, I agree. I just wished he would of changed his ways and still find a way to step out of the game in fashion mannerly way. I felt that even if he didnt win a championship, he could of gone out with class, instead he went out with shame. Although his legacy still remains, this is definitely not the way he should of gone out. Its never too late though, I hope sooner or later he comes back to the game and finishes things the right way!
@Interloper83 Bro don't even encourage this dude. You can lead a team of nobodys to the finals and be selfish. He's fucken stupid. Allen Iverson is my all time favorite player and I can tell you during this time Kobe was nobody and Iverson and Carter were to most popular players.
@Interloper83 AI is/ was a shooting guard and nothing more. He had great talent inside of himself that he never reached but was to selfish to be a point guard and a playmaker. He could have been much more but choose not to be.
@SSW8040 well kobe himself said the bulls need a scorer so if joe johnson and chris bosh play in chicago next season would you still say that cause if i were a laker fan i would be worried about chicago
@lidgerwood NO WAY, whos gona GUARD SHAQ? Kobe and Jordan might even cancel eachother out, pippen kukoc and kerr vs fox horry fisher seems pertty evened out. BUT WHOS gona gaurd SHAQ? Luc Longley? LOL get outa here. Shaq would score like 50 points a game against the 96 bulls. And if they double him, he will make the right pass every time. Its starts and ends with SHAQ, Bulls cant gaurd shaq, bulls cant beat the 2001 lakers.
@tigerjonn Longley would guard Shaq for sure- they'd need to double team him and be quick on D but it's not impossible. Plenty of people have slowed down Shaq- it's not like the Bulls had no 7 footers. You make it sound like Shaq was unstoppable- of course he wasn't.
@lidgerwood Shaq WAS unstoppable... who stopped shaq in a 7 game series? One game in a regular season dosent mean anything. In your arguement then, plenty of people have stopped michael jordan, its gona require quick help defense, but its been done before. You make it sound like he was great or somthing.. lol, which he was, but shaq was also unstoppable. U might slow him down, but his passing abilities are too great, his basketball iq is high, and the most powerful center ever to play the game.
@lidgerwood Shaq would ram the ball down longley 's throat threw the rim and out his ass,no fucken way luc had a chance against the diesel, the LAKERS in 6 easy no way the bulls would win Kobe and Shaq in their prime unstoppable
@SELACARTEL I'm not saying Luc was on Shaq's level- all I'm saying is that he's a 7 footer who could defend him the whole game. Longley wasn't a scorer- he was there just to play defense- Pippen and the guards would do the majority of the scoring. Shaq would probably have a couple of 40 point games, but so would Jordan.
It's a lot more even than you'd think. Remember in 2000 the Trailblazers pushed them to 7. In 2002 it was the Kings. These guys lost games- they'd lose in 7 to the bulls.
@lidgerwood were not talking bout the 00 or 02 lakers were talking bout the 01 LAKERS the bulls would not win and jordan would not have 40 point geames against kobe or foxy
The bulls had 4 7 footers on that team to tire Shaq out plus Rodman. Pippen would do a good job of tiring Kobe out on the defensive end. And did you just say kobe or Fox would shut down Jordan? Jordan put up 30+ games vs Gary Payton the DPOY and one of the greatest perimeter defenders of all time. Whats your answer for Kukoc who put up 20 PPG from the bench or Steve kerrs like .500 3P shooting? No way you guys would win. BUT the 01 lakers are the top 5 greatest teams of all time
I would totally agree with you. I mean, no other team in history has ever gone undefeated in the playoffs on the road! Go Lakers in 2010! I see possibly another 3-peat on the horizon!!!
