The Lion cut is actually very humane it is done for the cats benefit to prevent matting in the fur which can be painful for the kitty. This cut actually takes the cat's body into account. The most sensitive areas of a cat are the head, tip of the tail, and the paws which is why they aren't shaved to avoid hurting the kitty it has nothing to do with how fashionable it is. Honestly this woman would be irresponsible if she didn't take care of them.

Cats like that have hair that gets matted easily, surely in having them cut and clearly looking after them there owner is caring for them, who cares how theyre cut jhees its hardly abuse, Its not like the cats care.

@ohdoshutit1 sometimes the hair is too much and needs to be shaved because different cats react differently to the changes in temperature or season. i have a mancoon who becomes very matted during the summer because of the humidity and the time he spends outside. we shave him because he won't let us do the hours of grooming we would need to do in order to keep him mat free. he acts like its a huge relief when the mats are gone :)

I think its cruel when people shave cats, there is no point in it apart from making them into toys. How would you like it if people started shaving you to make you look like a "lion".

sometimes himalayans need to be cut during the hot months due to so much fur! it helps with shedding and hairballs. as well as keeping things clean

It looks hilarious.

And it provides the cat with some of their fur so they don't look like a bald rat. Shaving off all that fur for long haired animals is also more hygienically beneficial

Cubby is the dark Himalayan and Chloe is the white Persian.  They both cut another cut today. I get them done twice a year.

my himalayan LOVES having a lion cut. it sounds odd but you can just tell that she loves it. and i think she looks SO cute. i love it. best 40$ spent. espically in the summer.
