Sir, I don't want this to be a rude post, but first of all, I think you might've kicked her/his bum when you were swinging your leg over. Second, when he/she reared, you DO NOT get off unless you fall. Thirdly, when a horse is rearing, NEVER, IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HOLD ONTO THE REIGNS and pull back. JUST LET GO. Finally, you did good by getting off him. I know you meant this as a video with no rude responses, and I didn't want this to be a rude response, but just giving you some tips.
"never been trained" So, yeah, lets jump on a horses back for the first time and then what? "Break" it? Never thought of that a untrained horse MABY gets scared? Had you never the idea that it could get injured, or hurt yourself or get a trauma? Who needs kindness. Just sit on until it stops bucking, no matter what. Yeah, real horsemen.
that horse isnt as skinny as you think. look at his disposition and you can tell he wont be a thick horse. But he should not be ridden until he is taught some manners watch how he gets ready to buck, i think the guy was too slow getting on him and the woman was holding the horse too tight. i think the horse felt just as scared as they were.
The rider doesn't need to have horses. The poor thing is skinny, you can see it, and when you fall off backwards, next time let the reins go. I know the horse might bolt, but its better then having the horse fall on its back or on you. Morons.
and here we have an exceptional example of how NOT to train a horse........and a perfect example of how to RUIN a horse...fucking retards, you nearly flipped her when she reared, and she is sooooo skinny :(
Um can ya learn how to FEED a horse first? maybe even do some ground work with it? that horse is way to thin, she needs more weight, and she has a very weak poor top line! have you ever heard of long lining a horse?
NO no lunging , LONG LINING, its basically teaching a horse how to drive (steer) with just a person behind them. this horse could bennifit from more ground work, long lining and MORE FOOD! geeezez!
@NativeGirl1992 My horse was that skinny when i first got him, he is still a bit too skinny now but he just doesn't put the weight on, since it says new horse i think that might be why, i might be wrong but so might you, its not nice to judge i got shouted at when i rode by complete strangers when really i had my horse no longer than a month and i was feeding him and it hurt! I would never hurt my horse. Also im sure he had done some work the horse was stood calm fully tacked up...
@DeathKitty123456 then maybe you should have him tube wormed? horses arent ever that thin for no reason... not wormed like with a paste like have the vet come out and tube worm him....... All Im saying is there seems to be a lack of knowledge i have seen in this video. im not saying you would hurt your horse.... i doubt you would. And "some ground work" isnt where you stop. the horse needs to learn more everyday, not just "some" that makes for a not so obedient horse.
@DeathKitty123456 I took a TB off the track and before i ever dreamed of riding her, i made sure she recovered from her injuries (she was in a trailering wreck and bruised her hip bone very badly) and that she gained Enough weight before i put a saddle on her because the lady who had her didnt really feed her all that well....I ruled out worms bc i wormed her right away and she started gaining weight, she isnt FAT but shes thin built and right now she weighs around 1,100lbs
@NativeGirl1992 I have had him tested for worms he is clear, he is still a tad underweight and always will be but is 100times better than he was, i bought him and rode him the week after, why not? He had no injuries if he had i would have waited longer all i am saying is you shouldn't be so judgemental when it is a new horse, they could still be working on the horse, it hurts when people insinuate you are being cruel when your not
@DeathKitty123456 Im not being judgemental? Do you know the definition of Judgemental? all i was saying is i SAW some RED FLAGS. what this horse did doesnt mean hes "crazy" just means theres a lack of knowledge....yousound like those people who go to shows and hate the judge for having to pick the best then when he or she tells you u fucked up (in a nice way of course) you blame them and it isnt "fair" because it "hurt" your feelings..I wasnt being mean!
@NativeGirl1992 I don't even go to shows lol i'm not even slightly competitive and take criticism very well about my riding, you were being judgmental, you judged that they should feed their horse when for all you know they could be feeding it up and you were being very mean, the way you phrased it was very blunt and sarcastic and i don't think that they think he is crazy it is just a video title to get views, you did not say maybe he needs more food or worming you said...
@DeathKitty123456 also make a supplement called "Fat Cat" it helps add weight just an fyi. and i never said you shouldnt ride your new horse? i said if it has problems fix them before you ride thats all. When its a new horse you really should be smarter then the video above..... Never insinuated anything, said horse needs more food and maybe wormed and some more manners maybe he needs more work? or maybe he has an underlying issue, doesnt make him crazy just makes him a horse
@NativeGirl1992 'um can ya learn how to FEED a horse first?'... judgmental? Of course not (note the sarcasm) you were being very very judgmental and it sounded very mean, my friend has just bought a horse that got away with murder at its last home and she lunged it and long lined it, completely reschooled it and when she got on it still bucked and reared, she has rode it 3 times and it starts bad but gets better, you can not judge from 79 seconds of video how a horse is trained or fed.
@DeathKitty123456 i beg to differ, 79 seconds can tell you alot if you know anything at all about horse care conformation handling, doesnt mean they did it, means you can see they need to help it asap BEFORE RIDING IT. that horse above in video obviously needs more food.... maybe even tube wormed.... something isnt very right there, and THAT comment was from a very long time ago. but yes CAN you learn how to feed first before riding? that could help.
@DeathKitty123456 and let me tell you,i ho0nestly dont know why your going back and forth. apparently you want to point out how i was "wrong" im not wrong and neither is anyone elses comments, if THEY dont like comments they can disable the option to get comments on the video.... im not one for being "Fair"fake fairness anyways) life isnt fair, and everyone has a right to their own opinion
@DeathKitty123456 you were hurt but any of my comments thats your choice, if it bothered them then they can say something to me, and i wouldve apologized to them. And sorry but i show and race horses so yes i am competitive. i think its fun. and it doesnt really matter to me how you "took" my comment. are you God? NO? oh wow! what a suprise! guess i dont have to answer to you after all! haha
@NativeGirl1992 why do you go on so much lol, it did sound mean and it was only 3month ago! hardly a long time ago, the way you phrased it was not nice, all i am saying is horses come to people in a bad way, my horse did, it doesn't mean the new owners are bad, this may have been the first time they sat on it for all you know, it may not be i don't know but it isn't nice to be judged and stamped as being cruel for not feeding a horse, i know how it feels. Oh and why so aggressive? I'm not.
@DeathKitty123456 look im not going to explain myself to you.i already said if THEY had an issue with it they should address me i wouldve cleared it up with them? What do you want from me? an apology? your not getting one.... and no shit. My horse (my ottb) came to me after she had been in a trailer wreck..so no shit they sometimes come to people with issues, all i ment was they probably (if it was the first time) shouldnt have tried what they did until they worked with the
@DeathKitty123456 horse more. thats all. and im not going on but im not really being aggresive either. how you take what i write is your own problem not mine. i dont really care. Im not apologizing so thats that.
@NativeGirl1992 i didn't want an apology lol my first comment was just advising you that you should maybe think before saying someone doesn't feed their horse
@DeathKitty123456 not your place to say that.... your no authority over me end of story. k thanks for the chat, its been fun. but i have to get back to life.
@DeathKitty123456 Thats what i do before i go and try to train a horse... fix them first (no matter how long it takes) then train them its all about ruling out what might cause that stuff.... im not trying to be mean, im just sayin'
Could tell she needed more prep from the begining. The mare's body condition is quite poor as well. I'd be more worried about getting her fit and healthy and preparing her with ground work before all this nonsense. Just another ridiculous video posted by uneducated "horsemen" and "horsewomen". Yuck.
also ms. lexieluu23 - if you favourited the stacy westfall freestyle reining you would think you had better knowledge of starting and good training. if you think any horse with that kind of accomplishments was started like this?then youre wrong. horses first experiences with training is critical. if its not done right the horse learns bad things fast. especially loop holes. in this situation the horse learned rearing=getting the asshole off my back. the bit= pain.you gotta be patient. this isnt
@lexieluu23 : youre an idiot too. its one thing to want to go out and ride some BROKE horses. its another thing to pretend like youre experienced enough to train a horse. if you dont want critisism dont put your shit on youtube
. especially when its so bad that even basic beginners can see what they are doing is dangerous and stupid. "live and learn"????? sure you can learn, the right way. go take lessons and do your research before doin stuff like this. would you put your child who wants to learn how to drive in a ferrari? no. youd take himm for lessons first. and cars are predictable cuz HUMANS control them.
horses have a mind of their own.theyre out of their league and theres nothing wrong with saying that. obviously they need to be taken down afew notches in order o get it through their heads that they need the help of someone experienced. whether that be lessons or clinics or getting someone who knows what theyre doing to work the horse. ANY GOOD HORSE PERSON WOULD TELL YOU THAT.
learn to give your horse a release when he does what you ask. then let him sit for a couple seconds so it sinks in that his reaction was the correct one. holding him n restraining him like that isnt teaching him anything but bad habits and poor cues.
n then you tell your horse "whoa" use a big long deep voice. hell catch on better. the "whopwhopwhowwopwopwopwop" its jsut retarded. and give him some breathing room if hes not standing to be mounted you should get the rider to back off while you do a lil ground work until hes standing calmly. then continue. dont keep pushing like that, he gave you plenty of warning that he was gunna blow. take your time, youll have a much better horse in the end.
sacked out, then you shouldnt have too much trouble mounting....and maybe start him in a snaffle. the bits harsh to begin with hell turn heavy on you if youre not careful.
never keep steady pressure like that on the bit with a greenhorse. your teaching him to be heavy. your training sucks. also wearing runners is a great way to get caught in the stirrups. and you should never mount an unbroke horse by putting your leg in the stirrup. try leaning over him on your belly first so he gets used to the weight. then slowly start moving around and wiggling the saddle so he gets used to the weight not being even. when your horse is comfy with that (aka being PROPERLY
Brainless cruel people!!! Horse is in a very poor condition and a big lump is trying to get on in a very cruel manner! Try an elephant next they may withstand your weight and lack of athetisism!!!! Should be banned from keeping a goldfish.
sure thers stuff that u guys did wrong but live and learn rite but u dont have to learn from a bunch of stupid ppl with nothing better to do than make fun of ppl on the internet and tell u wat they think u should do! u guys should take off the comment thing cuz even tho this isnt my video it pisses me off to see that ppl like u guys who just wanted to ride horses r getting picked on my a bunch of strangers with no purpose in life other than make fun of someone good luck with ur horse(s) :}
shes so cute how old is she she looks young mayber her saddle was pinching her or she was just having a bad day or and this happened with my dads horse it just doesnt like to be ridden and thats not coming from someone without horse watever to all the nasty ppl here the vet said it
@NamihaTaiga my sistes horse is smaller then that and she is perfectly healthy the vet said she is just small that might be the same thing for this horse
@thecrookedpees I think that you guys did fine and if your gonna break a horse this time is just as good as any. If the horse was gonna flip then let it. It'll learn. Most horses don't like flipping over and usually do it once if you let them hit the ground kuz they don't want to hurt themselves. And don't listen to the stupid people about it's weight im sure ur feeding it and I know it's hard to put weight on a horse in the winter. I have a thoughbred that I got in the winter and he was skin i
Ive learnt that its REALLY bad for the horses back to get on like this. Especially a man ( since most of the time they are heavier) so try to get on on stuff like logs or mounting blocks :)
That horse is too thin. She needs a good amount of weight on her before you consider riding her. Besides her being underweight there are 2 things... 1. when your father was mounting he brushed his foot on her hindquarters when he was swinging his leg over which contributed to her bolting... best to refrain from doing that. 2. I have to address the stupidity, of his almost pulling her backwards over her center of gravity. That was enormously dangerous for both the horse and him.
@sheebashogun my sistes horse is smaller then that and she is perfectly healthy the vet said she is just small that might be the same thing for this horse
YOU DO NOT FUCKING HOLD ON TO THE REINS AFTER YOU FUCKING FALL OFF A HORSE! IF SHE RAN AWAY WITH YOU HOLDING ON TO THE FUCKING REINS YOU COULDA BEEN DRAGGED TO YOUR FUCKING DEATH. WOW WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE YOU KNOW FUCKING NOTHING ABOUT HORSES .______. IF THE HORSE HAS NEVER BEEN FUCKING TRAINED BEFORE GET A TRAINER OR SOMEBODY DONT FUCKING TRY IT YOURSELF, ESPECIALLY IF YOU FUCKING KNOW NOTHIGN ABOUT RIDING! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST POOR HORSE
sweet jesus.. The horse needs backed first!!! The fact it didn't kill this dumbshit is a testament that this if not backed by you - may be a really good riding horse for tolerance alone!
If its ok to add mt opinion (sorry didnt read al the other comments so if its already been said....ignore me :) )
first off this horse still looks quite young (which is fine but start with ground training! ) , second it needs a good 100lbs or more before saddle breaking should be done, the horse being underweight may not be your fault as this may have been filmed a couple days after you got the horse so I'm not accusing you of neglect.
@TheKelseyAnn my sistes horse is smaller then that and she is perfectly healthy the vet said she is just small that might be the same thing for this horse
What more could anyone expect from a bunch of redneck idiots? I'd try muscling that horse up if I were you, before attempting to train/ride it. Now you've probably about ruined it for life, anyway.
@thecrookedpees you need to fatten this horse up. He wasn't ready to hold another person!! and yeah he shouldn't have pulled on the horse like that in the end that was dumb you couldve caused the horse to fall backwards and get seriously injured!! woww how dumb can people be??
Sorry to say, but a lot of you have shown the typical nosey horse person trait.
The horse could just be of a fine build, everything over 15hh doesn't have to look like a Warmblood. Take a look at the more wirey bred ASH's for example.
Also, none of you know of any background training. One thing to point out is that the horse has obviously been mouthed. Who knows, it could have been a rank bucker that has a training time limit?
@Hakaspace Nice to see someone with some manners on youtube, and someone who has an open view on things. Horsey people know it all and rarely listen to anyone but themselves.
@tomtknox Aint that the truth! A lot of the time it's best just to smile and pretend you're agreeing with them. Hell, if half of them have seen how a 'rough cowboy' breaks in horses I'd bet they'd explode!
1). The horse needs to be put on beat pulp to gain weight.
2). This should be done in an arena with soft footing.
3). You should lay over stomach first and put your weight on the saddle.
4). The person laying over the saddle should not be a person who doesn't know what their doing and someone who looks like he's too big for the skinny horse to handle.
5). DO NOT pull on the reigns like that! Continuing to pull backwards like that will tip the horse over and kill you and possibly him/her!
dont u think mybe the horse would be a bit better with some meat on his bones? its relli under weight and probibly nt able to support ur dads weight on her back its probibly hurtin considering the weight of western saddles also
Ha I like how that guy is really far away from the horse when first getting on. That horse looks like a runner. Y'know what's funny, those complainers should go check out a slaughter house featuring horses and how they're being treated compared to this horse. I'm not gonna yammer on about the training, it's been said, but we did something similar to my horse only he didn't buck just backed up and spun. It seemed to have worked.
guys stop being mean... i know people are not handling the horse well but the only point they are putting this video on is that they can show you things...
For all of you people out there who do not know a skinny horse from a non muscular horse, this horse is perfectly healthy. He is not starved he is under muscled. As for the training yes it was the old cowboy way of doing things and is a bad way to go with this horse. This one isn't going to respond well to it and get a round pen for this type of thing. It is safer for horse and rider. I understand it isn't you on the horse but it is just some pointers.
take some of the food you are eating you fat ass and give it to that poor, malnutritioned horse. and dont ride it right when you first get it. make sure its healthy and broke. let it get used to you and you need to get used to him/her. people like you shouldnt even own horses if this is how are are going to use/treat them.
there is not one thing wrong with that horse.... it is your problem that he is soooo skinny and is afraid he will get hurt if u get on him.. you are dangerous... both to yourself and your horse.... there is no reason that you should have a horse if you will treat him like that.....
I dont see why people are making such a fuss. The horse looks like an OTTB, no biggie. I woulda done the same thing that that man did, why people are freakin out I dont know. Props to you guys for bein brave and doing what you wanna do :)
I'm not being mean by saying this, but that horse is bones basically. It can hardly support itself let alone another person. D= Fatten it up first then ride her.
Oh my god.. that horse looks terrible. He has no muscles to have someone ons his back yet. He looks very young too. I feel like this is a very unresponsible action, and i feel its sad for the horse that he had to go trough this.
There's NOTHING funny about that at all. Good grief - it's a prime lessom in how to spoil a young horse in record time. The por horse is skinny in body but the humans are pretty bare in the brains department, I must say. Grrr!!!
Some problem with the handling, and getting on the horse.. you touch his back with your feet.. this is why he start bucking again.. Everything comes with experience I gess!
I don't understand why you would post this video unless you expected some criticism. Looking back (without being defensive now) you have to admit that there were probably safer ways for you to break this horse. It being untrained and wild is a hazard to anyone who would have taken it on. You have some balls to try to get on it's back without wearing proper riding shoes or helmet. And you could've used a riding pen, not be out in the open. Sometimes as riders, we still need safer options.
Wow...not only are your comments some of the more ignorant I've seen here on youtube (and that's saying a lot...), but your mistreatment of that horse is just sad to watch. Traumatizing an animal you're claiming to be helping is NEVER okay, and no, it was not "just wild". Any unbroke or green-broke horse would have reacted that way, hells the horse I ride every weekend would have reacted that way had you yanked on his face like that....
tbh its your choice if you wanted to give the horse a bad start mabey unintentionally idk
but its stupid for people to sit there and rabbit on and on about this video
i mean you didnt hurt the horse, nobody got angry with the horse, no one hit it or used execesive pressure, its not underweight, its just young mabey too young but how can you tell from a video, really.
There are a lot worse things going on with horses.
this isnt that bad either its just not how you back and break a horse lol.
You really should have to take a test to own animals. This is proof. Besides this horse being a good #300 pounds underweight, these people are a danger to themselves and this horse.
How can you all say that it's ok to start a horse under saddle like this? Firstly the horse does NOT have enough top line to happily carry a man on his back, secondly it was a stupid place to firstly put a man on his back and thirdly when the man came off he was lucky that he didn't pull the horse clean over backwards endangering himself and setting the horse up for life to have fear and dread of ever being ridden. Yes you are stupid and no you shouldn't be allowed to start horses in this way,
Awe the Horse Isent is bad shape it might have been a little underweight but thats the way some horses are, Also this isent a wild horse At all, Al he is showing is that you dontt have ANY ground Training as i can see on this horse At all, All you did was Jump on( Which is the old days when i was young How we did it) but you have to be a good enough rider to buck the horse Out. He was not Crazy you Hardly done nothing he was spooked when you threw your leg over.. You have to be Claimer
Its not necessarily the age that deems to horse ready to be trained, its the mental and physical maturity. Anyhow, Dennis' Dad who clearly doesn't look like a horseman, should not have been given that task for this poor animal! Most people know that when a horse panics like this, you do not hold onto its mouth and hold it back!:( About its weight.. well.. thats another story, its certainly lean, but nothing to worry about all THAT much! It DOES need muscle tone but that comes with work.
for ppl makin stupid comments tht horse was built like tht and is at a healthy weight for the ppl who made the video you start training on the ground desensitizing the horse to the saddle and pad then you lung the horse on the ground in a safe environment where the horse can feel comfortable then you work in that environment getting on and of the horse to were ur not having to hold the horse down to get on after your able to get on the horse your going to have to teach it how to move off preser
I think people are over reacting WAY too much over this video. No offence to the owner, but this situation probably could have been dealt with a lot more simpler under different circumstances. It was clearly too early to be putting a man on its back. However, I do not think this horse is ill treated, at all, and I think some people here just want to pick a fight. If you guys want to save animals so badly, you need to get your ass off youtube and do something about it already. Trolls.
@MuffinsYumYum1234 Certainly. I'm not particularly taking sides, as the owner is clearly in the wrong here, and doesn't seem to have much knowledge in training a horse. But I wouldn't be sending abuse. People should give calm advice when they have a greater knowledge, instead of typing such things as "This horse would be better dead than with you". Such hypercritical heated words, creating just as much of a wrong.
You obviously don't know how to ride, or don't know anything about horses. Either one, you pick. The horse is way to underweight to do any type of training other than groundwork. It's (as you can clearly see) not properly broke to ride. And as I understand you killed the horse? At first you say "We killed the horse...It's dead a fuck." May I ask why you would kill such an amazing and proud animal? Then you say, you'd rather see a horse dead then to have a home and be fed everyday. It's not fed.
Those griping about the horses weight - I own 3 horses. I show, ride, train, and care for them myself. The horse in the video is not underweight! The reason it looks that way is just due to the lack of muscle. If the horse underwent a training schedule to put muscle on him he would have been fine. Clearly with the horses behavior it hadn't had that chance yet. Good job for not getting your ass injured on her though! lol
Horse is fine its probably a standard thats the thin chest and not looking like he has any weight to him. be nice if these horse experts would actualy look into the diferent breeds and actualy learn somthing.
He bumped the horse on the butt with his foot when he got on, which scared him and caused him to buck. Glad you sold the horse. You don't know how to train a horse.
Horses who have had the proper ground work do not act like this. There's SO much more to training a horse then just jumping on one and trying to hold on. I hope the horse is with someone who knows what the hell they are doing!
They said the horse was new so you can't blame him for being thin. The horse looks to have enough on his frame to begin training as long as it's not hard rides or long sessions.
You can tell it either has not been trained or was abused previously. This response is typical for an untrained horse. I do think this guy is lucky to not get hurt when he still had the reins in his hands and the horse reared. It almost toppled over.
And it's funny how the other horse laughed at you at the end.
this isn't horse abuse.... the horse is not being hurt in anyway physically or mentally.... horses who are not broke alot of the time act like this...however.... i dont like the method of training... but hey... to each their own right?
I think its better for the horse not to be alive than to be with you. You have no idea how to handle a horse the reason you end up on your ass is because you have no idea and you obviously dont want to listen to anyones advice which makes you a dangerous idiot
Well i guess the truth has up set you. I would rather an animal not be mistreated, which is what has been happening from what I can see and others by the comments made, you have to realise that once you put something on to a public forum you open your self up to comments good or bad. By your other comments they are mostly bad. I know not everyone agrees in this world, but your response says it all and proves my point.
You dad isnt a bad horse handler too. He knew she was going to run away when he let go and secondly he knew she couldnt buck while rearing. So he did a great job keeping the horse under control! Dont let those nasty comments get in your way.
@Julieanne43 You would rather a horse be DEAD! What the hell is wrong with you?!?!? I have worked with horse rescues, and I have purchased three horses that were slaughter bound. Do you know what they do to horses in the slaughter houses in MEXICO Missy????? I DO!!!! They put them in a BLOODY chute, splice their spine in half , while alive, hoise them up BY ONE LEG WITH A CHANGE, and slice their thoat and let BLEED OUT--ALIVE! WOULD YOU LIKE BITCH! FRANKLY--I'D LIKE TO KICK ASS!!!!
@SuadeBlue I really didnt need to here your description of how horses are slaughtered. I am pleased that you have a good heart to save horses. I think that if a horse could choose a lifetime of bad treatment or death what do you think they would choose. I have seen x race horses starved, beaten and idiots who think they know what they are doing causeing more mental harm! Obviously this is more than you can understand. If you read more you will see the owner told me he had killed the horse.
@Julieanne43 answer this...do you fuck horses...the more you talk the more i think you like horses...i mean LIKE horses. and that horse is fine we got rid of it not to long ago.
@thecrookedpees you have to be really stupid, If all you can do is swear and say discusting things to other people. There are obviously some anger management issues as well. I really dont care what you do, you are an idiot! With the IQ of a rock.
I dont have to explain anything to you Im not the knob putting videos on you tube showing how stupid I am.
That horse is far, far too skinny and malnourished to be ridden. Has it even dawned on you that it may physically HURT the horse to be ridden while being that skinny? Get the horse fattened up, and then send the horse to a PROPER trainer.
We already killed the horse...it's dead as fuck LOL!. And as for everyone who saz this is animal abuse....re-watch the video a few times and see who has there ass thrown on the ground...idiots.
ok ok ok i been fucking with you horse fuckers for to long i have much much better things to get to but just to put it in your face that horse was in great shape but it was just wild and to tell the truth that was the very first time that horse was ever road in its whole life and on top of all of that the breed of the horse can make it look as skinny and shit as it dose when i fact that horse dose not stop eating but we did end up selling it for a good price
this video should be called "retarded owners" not crazy horse.

Um can ya learn how to FEED a horse first? maybe even do some ground work with it? that horse is way to thin, she needs more weight, and she has a very weak poor top line! have you ever heard of long lining a horse?
NO no lunging , LONG LINING, its basically teaching a horse how to drive (steer) with just a person behind them. this horse could bennifit from more ground work, long lining and MORE FOOD! geeezez!
NativeGirl1992 6 months ago 13
@NativeGirl1992 My horse was that skinny when i first got him, he is still a bit too skinny now but he just doesn't put the weight on, since it says new horse i think that might be why, i might be wrong but so might you, its not nice to judge i got shouted at when i rode by complete strangers when really i had my horse no longer than a month and i was feeding him and it hurt! I would never hurt my horse. Also im sure he had done some work the horse was stood calm fully tacked up...
DeathKitty123456 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 then maybe you should have him tube wormed? horses arent ever that thin for no reason... not wormed like with a paste like have the vet come out and tube worm him....... All Im saying is there seems to be a lack of knowledge i have seen in this video. im not saying you would hurt your horse.... i doubt you would. And "some ground work" isnt where you stop. the horse needs to learn more everyday, not just "some" that makes for a not so obedient horse.
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 I took a TB off the track and before i ever dreamed of riding her, i made sure she recovered from her injuries (she was in a trailering wreck and bruised her hip bone very badly) and that she gained Enough weight before i put a saddle on her because the lady who had her didnt really feed her all that well....I ruled out worms bc i wormed her right away and she started gaining weight, she isnt FAT but shes thin built and right now she weighs around 1,100lbs
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@NativeGirl1992 I have had him tested for worms he is clear, he is still a tad underweight and always will be but is 100times better than he was, i bought him and rode him the week after, why not? He had no injuries if he had i would have waited longer all i am saying is you shouldn't be so judgemental when it is a new horse, they could still be working on the horse, it hurts when people insinuate you are being cruel when your not
DeathKitty123456 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 Im not being judgemental? Do you know the definition of Judgemental? all i was saying is i SAW some RED FLAGS. what this horse did doesnt mean hes "crazy" just means theres a lack of knowledge....yousound like those people who go to shows and hate the judge for having to pick the best then when he or she tells you u fucked up (in a nice way of course) you blame them and it isnt "fair" because it "hurt" your feelings..I wasnt being mean!
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@NativeGirl1992 I don't even go to shows lol i'm not even slightly competitive and take criticism very well about my riding, you were being judgmental, you judged that they should feed their horse when for all you know they could be feeding it up and you were being very mean, the way you phrased it was very blunt and sarcastic and i don't think that they think he is crazy it is just a video title to get views, you did not say maybe he needs more food or worming you said...
DeathKitty123456 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 also make a supplement called "Fat Cat" it helps add weight just an fyi. and i never said you shouldnt ride your new horse? i said if it has problems fix them before you ride thats all. When its a new horse you really should be smarter then the video above..... Never insinuated anything, said horse needs more food and maybe wormed and some more manners maybe he needs more work? or maybe he has an underlying issue, doesnt make him crazy just makes him a horse
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@NativeGirl1992 'um can ya learn how to FEED a horse first?'... judgmental? Of course not (note the sarcasm) you were being very very judgmental and it sounded very mean, my friend has just bought a horse that got away with murder at its last home and she lunged it and long lined it, completely reschooled it and when she got on it still bucked and reared, she has rode it 3 times and it starts bad but gets better, you can not judge from 79 seconds of video how a horse is trained or fed.
DeathKitty123456 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 i beg to differ, 79 seconds can tell you alot if you know anything at all about horse care conformation handling, doesnt mean they did it, means you can see they need to help it asap BEFORE RIDING IT. that horse above in video obviously needs more food.... maybe even tube wormed.... something isnt very right there, and THAT comment was from a very long time ago. but yes CAN you learn how to feed first before riding? that could help.
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 and let me tell you,i ho0nestly dont know why your going back and forth. apparently you want to point out how i was "wrong" im not wrong and neither is anyone elses comments, if THEY dont like comments they can disable the option to get comments on the video.... im not one for being "Fair"fake fairness anyways) life isnt fair, and everyone has a right to their own opinion
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 you were hurt but any of my comments thats your choice, if it bothered them then they can say something to me, and i wouldve apologized to them. And sorry but i show and race horses so yes i am competitive. i think its fun. and it doesnt really matter to me how you "took" my comment. are you God? NO? oh wow! what a suprise! guess i dont have to answer to you after all! haha
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@NativeGirl1992 why do you go on so much lol, it did sound mean and it was only 3month ago! hardly a long time ago, the way you phrased it was not nice, all i am saying is horses come to people in a bad way, my horse did, it doesn't mean the new owners are bad, this may have been the first time they sat on it for all you know, it may not be i don't know but it isn't nice to be judged and stamped as being cruel for not feeding a horse, i know how it feels. Oh and why so aggressive? I'm not.
DeathKitty123456 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 look im not going to explain myself to you.i already said if THEY had an issue with it they should address me i wouldve cleared it up with them? What do you want from me? an apology? your not getting one.... and no shit. My horse (my ottb) came to me after she had been in a trailer wreck..so no shit they sometimes come to people with issues, all i ment was they probably (if it was the first time) shouldnt have tried what they did until they worked with the
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@DeathKitty123456 horse more. thats all. and im not going on but im not really being aggresive either. how you take what i write is your own problem not mine. i dont really care. Im not apologizing so thats that.
NativeGirl1992 2 months ago
@NativeGirl1992 i didn't want an apology lol my first comment was just advising you that you should maybe think before saying someone doesn't feed their horse
DeathKitty123456 2 months ago

Yuck.
Equestrian08 6 months ago
also ms. lexieluu23 - if you favourited the stacy westfall freestyle reining you would think you had better knowledge of starting and good training. if you think any horse with that kind of accomplishments was started like this?then youre wrong. horses first experiences with training is critical. if its not done right the horse learns bad things fast. especially loop holes. in this situation the horse learned rearing=getting the asshole off my back. the bit= pain.you gotta be patient. this isnt
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
@lexieluu23 : youre an idiot too. its one thing to want to go out and ride some BROKE horses. its another thing to pretend like youre experienced enough to train a horse. if you dont want critisism dont put your shit on youtube
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
. especially when its so bad that even basic beginners can see what they are doing is dangerous and stupid. "live and learn"????? sure you can learn, the right way. go take lessons and do your research before doin stuff like this. would you put your child who wants to learn how to drive in a ferrari? no. youd take himm for lessons first. and cars are predictable cuz HUMANS control them.
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
horses have a mind of their own.theyre out of their league and theres nothing wrong with saying that. obviously they need to be taken down afew notches in order o get it through their heads that they need the help of someone experienced. whether that be lessons or clinics or getting someone who knows what theyre doing to work the horse. ANY GOOD HORSE PERSON WOULD TELL YOU THAT.
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
learn to give your horse a release when he does what you ask. then let him sit for a couple seconds so it sinks in that his reaction was the correct one. holding him n restraining him like that isnt teaching him anything but bad habits and poor cues.
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
n then you tell your horse "whoa" use a big long deep voice. hell catch on better. the "whopwhopwhowwopwopwopwop" its jsut retarded. and give him some breathing room if hes not standing to be mounted you should get the rider to back off while you do a lil ground work until hes standing calmly. then continue. dont keep pushing like that, he gave you plenty of warning that he was gunna blow. take your time, youll have a much better horse in the end.
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
sacked out, then you shouldnt have too much trouble mounting....and maybe start him in a snaffle. the bits harsh to begin with hell turn heavy on you if youre not careful.
echo3rhythm 6 months ago
never keep steady pressure like that on the bit with a greenhorse. your teaching him to be heavy. your training sucks. also wearing runners is a great way to get caught in the stirrups. and you should never mount an unbroke horse by putting your leg in the stirrup. try leaning over him on your belly first so he gets used to the weight. then slowly start moving around and wiggling the saddle so he gets used to the weight not being even. when your horse is comfy with that (aka being PROPERLY

Ive learnt that its REALLY bad for the horses back to get on like this. Especially a man ( since most of the time they are heavier) so try to get on on stuff like logs or mounting blocks :)
shannon2514 7 months ago
That horse is too thin. She needs a good amount of weight on her before you consider riding her. Besides her being underweight there are 2 things... 1. when your father was mounting he brushed his foot on her hindquarters when he was swinging his leg over which contributed to her bolting... best to refrain from doing that. 2. I have to address the stupidity, of his almost pulling her backwards over her center of gravity. That was enormously dangerous for both the horse and him.

If its ok to add mt opinion (sorry didnt read al the other comments so if its already been said....ignore me :) )
first off this horse still looks quite young (which is fine but start with ground training! ) , second it needs a good 100lbs or more before saddle breaking should be done, the horse being underweight may not be your fault as this may have been filmed a couple days after you got the horse so I'm not accusing you of neglect.

pittbullsrock 9 months ago
Sorry to say, but a lot of you have shown the typical nosey horse person trait.
The horse could just be of a fine build, everything over 15hh doesn't have to look like a Warmblood. Take a look at the more wirey bred ASH's for example.
Also, none of you know of any background training. One thing to point out is that the horse has obviously been mouthed. Who knows, it could have been a rank bucker that has a training time limit?
I suggest everyone stop using tunnel vision.

Hakaspace 8 months ago
Continuing to pull backwards like that will tip the horse over and kill you and possibly him/her!

xxlollipop999 11 months ago

ShadrachStar 1 year ago
for ppl makin stupid comments tht horse was built like tht and is at a healthy weight for the ppl who made the video you start training on the ground desensitizing the horse to the saddle and pad then you lung the horse on the ground in a safe environment where the horse can feel comfortable then you work in that environment getting on and of the horse to were ur not having to hold the horse down to get on after your able to get on the horse your going to have to teach it how to move off preser
MuffinsYumYum1234 1 year ago
I think people are over reacting WAY too much over this video. No offence to the owner, but this situation probably could have been dealt with a lot more simpler under different circumstances. It was clearly too early to be putting a man on its back. However, I do not think this horse is ill treated, at all, and I think some people here just want to pick a fight. If you guys want to save animals so badly, you need to get your ass off youtube and do something about it already. Trolls.
BigCatGirl123 1 year ago
@BigCatGirl123 damn right, and if the horse is under 4 years of age it is not ready to b ridden
MuffinsYumYum1234 1 year ago
@MuffinsYumYum1234 Certainly. I'm not particularly taking sides, as the owner is clearly in the wrong here, and doesn't seem to have much knowledge in training a horse. But I wouldn't be sending abuse. People should give calm advice when they have a greater knowledge, instead of typing such things as "This horse would be better dead than with you". Such hypercritical heated words, creating just as much of a wrong.
BigCatGirl123 1 year ago
@BigCatGirl123 i never said that the horse would be better of dead than with them
MuffinsYumYum1234 1 year ago
You obviously don't know how to ride, or don't know anything about horses. Either one, you pick. The horse is way to underweight to do any type of training other than groundwork. It's (as you can clearly see) not properly broke to ride. And as I understand you killed the horse? At first you say "We killed the horse...It's dead a fuck." May I ask why you would kill such an amazing and proud animal? Then you say, you'd rather see a horse dead then to have a home and be fed everyday. It's not fed.
hansberrylovesyoux3 1 year ago
Those griping about the horses weight - I own 3 horses. I show, ride, train, and care for them myself. The horse in the video is not underweight! The reason it looks that way is just due to the lack of muscle. If the horse underwent a training schedule to put muscle on him he would have been fine. Clearly with the horses behavior it hadn't had that chance yet. Good job for not getting your ass injured on her though! lol
DeathByPurpleUnicorn 1 year ago
Horse is fine its probably a standard thats the thin chest and not looking like he has any weight to him. be nice if these horse experts would actualy look into the diferent breeds and actualy learn somthing.

He bumped the horse on the butt with his foot when he got on, which scared him and caused him to buck. Glad you sold the horse. You don't know how to train a horse.
akitaakita2 1 year ago
Horses who have had the proper ground work do not act like this. There's SO much more to training a horse then just jumping on one and trying to hold on. I hope the horse is with someone who knows what the hell they are doing!
kgrlup 1 year ago
They said the horse was new so you can't blame him for being thin. The horse looks to have enough on his frame to begin training as long as it's not hard rides or long sessions.
You can tell it either has not been trained or was abused previously. This response is typical for an untrained horse. I do think this guy is lucky to not get hurt when he still had the reins in his hands and the horse reared. It almost toppled over.
And it's funny how the other horse laughed at you at the end.
Peaches70380 2 years ago
this isn't horse abuse.... the horse is not being hurt in anyway physically or mentally.... horses who are not broke alot of the time act like this...however.... i dont like the method of training... but hey... to each their own right?

I think its better for the horse not to be alive than to be with you. You have no idea how to handle a horse the reason you end up on your ass is because you have no idea and you obviously dont want to listen to anyones advice which makes you a dangerous idiot

so you rather a horse be dead then to have a home and be fed everyday?
and your calling me a dangerous idiots (which im not the one the horse my dad is) and your the one tripping out on people you dont even know
how about this
get off of youtube and go see a doctor and get some pills to control your bipolar...you psychopath

@thecrookedpees

SuadeBlue 1 year ago
@SuadeBlue I really didnt need to here your description of how horses are slaughtered. I am pleased that you have a good heart to save horses. I think that if a horse could choose a lifetime of bad treatment or death what do you think they would choose. I have seen x race horses starved, beaten and idiots who think they know what they are doing causeing more mental harm! Obviously this is more than you can understand. If you read more you will see the owner told me he had killed the horse.

@Julieanne43 answer this...do you fuck horses...the more you talk the more i think you like horses...i mean LIKE horses. and that horse is fine we got rid of it not to long ago.
thecrookedpees 1 year ago
@thecrookedpees you have to be really stupid, If all you can do is swear and say discusting things to other people. There are obviously some anger management issues as well. I really dont care what you do, you are an idiot! With the IQ of a rock.
I dont have to explain anything to you Im not the knob putting videos on you tube showing how stupid I am.

Poot thing! And I mean the horse! Do you even feed it? Learn how to trian it the right way!
